I love this piece so much. And here is a fantastic small imaginative movie inspired by Arturo Marquez' music. What's not to like? It's like a small ballet.
Arturo Márquez is playing the piano in this film. Start watching here: 5:19 It must be him. I recognize him from photos on the website peermusicclassical
@@vladimirlee5928 Exactly! The feel of this piece is full of "veiled" and "seductive" moments. This piece has to leave things to the imagination! The acting overlaid certainly takes it a step further but still without defeating or being overly implicit about this inherent underlying theme.
I don't know maybe you should ask Arturo, I mean after all he obviously was part of the making of this production. So is your issue with the piece itself or it's interpretation? The orchestra perhaps? If that's the case I'll give you that; there's only a few interpretations of Danzon that I really take note on (Gustavo and Alondra's interpretations are really nice), but you know what I'm not gonna shit an already dying community, it's people like you who really limit the possibilities and reception of art music. Shameful comment.smh
Well the French contredance that was originally parodied by Cubans is to some degree more or less a borrowed or imitative style, Arturo here is setting to music what he heard during his time in Malinalco and Veracruz. If we go with googles definition of cliche: a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought. I'd say your comment on this reflects more so a cliche, ironically often used by elitists and short sighted people in this community meant to justify some predisposed taste or worldview. My challenge to you, if art music is actually something you enjoy, is to ask yourself, what does a comment like yours do for the reception of art music/visual aesthetic as a whole? In a community that's already insanely small and secluded I'd assert that your comment is about as "trite and pointless" as the next three. Buy the score, listen to other interpretations FTLOG. Your comment is lazy at best.
@@Marcel_Audubon I guess so, dude. I’m sure if you actually knew anything about the piece there’d be some nuance to your comment. But yea I just put the same amount of energy into my reply that you put into your observation. Kind of shitty isn’t it? But hey people like you do wonders for the community. 👏
