It’s pretty simple make bad games nobody’s gonna play it and there’s way too many of them. That’s why the golden age of gaming was in the early 2000s. If I go into a restaurant and they served me under cooked fish why wouldn’t I stop going there? Why wouldn’t I give it a bad review? Everybody wants a participation trophy just because they made something
Idk about games but social media definitely isnt innocent here by any means. People on RUclips rip games apart before they are even released upon looks alone. Back when social media was in its first stages people talked or hated AFTER THEY PLAYED IT. Now games barely have a chance.
i was looking into assetto corsa its a race simulator game and the new ones gonna be open world in a update middle this year and people are ripping the game apart and it hasn’t even came out yet
Agreed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was getting a lot of flack before it came out, just because the developers for it are Machinegames and their last game was Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus and Youngblood, but also they said they're making this game for Modern Audiences, y'know not a lot of people watched a Indiana Jones movie, and also because of how someone looked during the showcase of the game. But guess what, it came out and people loved it, but i think because of those people, the game didn't get the true hype it deserved, and it sucks because it was my personal GOTY of 2024.
Regarding the layoffs at activision, it’s pretty normal for companies to layoff people from the companies they are acquiring. It’s very possible most jobs were duplicate jobs held at Microsoft, hr, finance, marketing and others. . It’s likely most were not actual game developers or those who work on games.
This generation of leaders in the gaming industry are pathetic. Blaming the audience for their product not making money? And these old heads call us lazy and soft? Blaming the audience for your bad product is the definition of SOFT.
This is one of those times where you ask yourself, was getting rid of E3 a good idea? Everybody does their best to tune into these direct presentations of new games coming soon. But I think that’s another part of what is going on in the industry. People don’t feel a connection to these companies anymore, and we’re not just talking about gaming streamers or collaborators. We’re talking about the actual fan basis that dedicate their time and harder money into buying these games! Without that personal connection, everything else will just continue to fall apart with a game release.
Sorry @Inkslashertv, “just following orders” is never a good excuse. If the developers who were told to make a shitty game, know the game they’re making is shitty, they should stand up and say the game is shitty and offer creative solutions instead of blindly following orders.
I remember the exact day gaming went to shit and thats when the xbox one got released and then the ps4 shortly after, the lack of needing a disc to play a game is why your lobby is full of microtransactions for a single player game these devs dont make games anymore they make microtransactions that you have to buy in order to have any fun playing the game
I wouldn't count mw3. Because it literally only had good multiplayer content. Everything else was crap. The only thing good about mw3 was multiplayer. And if that's all you care about, good for you, champ.
The mw3 thing he literally said that LAUNCHED with players in mind and served them and then still got layoffs so day 1 was good and still had layoffs, you discredited your own arguement immediately saying the release wasn't great...
Make bad games no one plays them. It’s not rocket science, if your audience doesn’t like it and criticizes it that’s not their fault. How delusional are you?
I hate to get political, but it’s impossible not to. The leadership in these development companies are making games, like he said, for a community that does not exist. The leadership are pushing for woke agendas, forcing specific sexual orientation, and hypersensitive politically correct games that no one wants. The very small minority of that community will not boost sales and majority will not be interested in a game that has all those elements I just mentioned. As for layoffs, it is extremely common when one major company takes over another to have at least 10 to 20% layoffs. we are also forgetting that during Covid, development companies overinflated their staff to keep up with game development while people sat at home and play video games. Things are back to normal so those positions need to be cut. I do agree that the community does have a huge part of this when it comes to criticism. There are a lot of shit, talkers bashing games without actually ever playing the game. This is all a shit storm caused by hypertensive community of gamers with greedy publishers.
yeah that's my bad guys I'm sorry

Watch Your videos all the time. I love the style, tempo and writing. Appreciate you answering!

I miss telltale games
Maybe gaming will go back to normal in couple of years hopefully. Go towards to new golden age of gaming like the 2000s when I was growing up.
Everyone: it’s your fault
Gamers: we don’t care
😂😂

@idkhonesty-78 Yep it's pretty much commonplace now that games that release teasers or leaks info, they're doomed from the start

A lot of devs nowadays believe the players and the community ARE the problem.
That just means they aren’t willing to figure what their audience actually wants.

I wouldnt ever buy mw3 but I still do respect sledgehammer for releasing as much as they did on the multiplayer
This guy hates when the truth is told. These new age gamers are indeed the problem
youre so tone deaf and sound like an old head
You’re delusional. If you make a project and can’t connect with your target audience it’s your fault. This is the most idiotic take ever.
The entertainment industry is the only industry arrogant enough to blame the audience for its failure.

Also yes suicide squad kill the justice league was woke af they regendered Mr. Freeze... it's in the name
Ngl i never read any of those reviews i just watch youtubers already but maybe older generations read them
If you don't have a script in 2025 then something is wrong with you.
It’s the new aged gamers man. Ink you got CTE? Lol
You should watch AndyPants about call of duty lmao .
