    Nz had more hydraulic power via cyclist and sail a high VMG or steeper angle to each mark , which is less distance , with or course less tactical errors too . Little Nz took on the largest software company in the world and won ... well done proud to be a New Zealander...

    In the perfect world the boat out of the start first has the game won. The trailing boat needs to sail an error free race & hope for the lead boat to make an error or two. That's all it takes. The only other chance the trailing boat has is in the luck of a wind shift or two in its favour. Proud to be a Kiwi. John from NZ :)

    The Americas Cup yacht race was established by the British slaver Thomas Lipton, founder and boss of the Lipton Tea company. It was he who marched hundreds of 'low caste' South Indians ('Dravidians') to work as slaves under white 'masters' on the tea estates they planted in the central hills of Sri Lanka (then ruled by the British) in the 19th century. This was after they used what are now called bioweapons ('coffee blight') to destroy the coffee plantations planted by the Dutch instead of terraced rice (paddy) fields that had fed our people for thousands of years. Dr. Rom Chakravarti (Holistic University of Gondwana).

      What was the U.S. skipper doing with that weird zig just before the start line that put him behind and surely cost him any chance of winning the race? What could he possibly be doing? There was nothing to do at that point but continue to barrel straight ahead to the start line, about 5 seconds away, and yet he swerved needlessly and lost a boat length. Strange. It was almost as if he was trying to throw the race....

    • @mitchand9
      @mitchand9 5 лет назад

      @@richardernsberger5692 why would someone intentionally throw a race they've been training and preparing for, for the past four years?
      He was favorite to win the starts before the challenge but clearly was getting schooled at his own game. That and getting penalized for hitting the line early does wonders to your confidence I'm sure.
      Next you'll be asking how someone can lose that many races in a row.

    I have wondered for years now:
    WHERE ARE the Fly Emirates?
    One imagines that dealing with imperious flies was the province of Australia and Australians, but entire governing bodies of flies, would easily drive one berserk.
    The Fly Emirates also sponsor a human football team, perhaps waiting for the offal depositions to come later. It would seem cheap to satisfy such sponsors.

I miss the old America's Cup when there was a way to win for a slightly slower boat with a better plan, I'd rather watch any edition rather than a snoozefest with flying sticks. I'm afraid next America's Cup will be the same story with flying monohulls. Speed is always less spectacular than a good fight.

Those machines are too fast, too unforgiving, there's no way to win if you're behind, do you know how many times NZL lost a race they were leading? 0, it's all said and done at the start.
