I was driving home from work when I heard "Half Acre" on my local NPR station. I pulled the car over to the side of the road and sat there until it was done. I have never done that before or since. Rabbit Songs is utter brilliance.
Been a fan for so many years but have only just come across this film. How lovely to look back! I will never forget the gig at Union Chapel in London, I'll be forever grateful that I got to experience this beautiful music live.
I've listened to music from around the world and have been there to witness it. Clearly HEM is the best there is anywhere. Sally - you are an angel on earth - one voice in a Billion. Thank You.
I've been listening to this amazing group for 10 yrs on and off. Sally Ellison has one of thee most beautiful voices of any female vocalist I've ever heard. I put her up with Joni Mitchell and Dido. The music is wonderful and they should be pleased with they're level of success in this country with it's absurd bent on pop pablum cheese whiz crap. I would like to see them live. This is a missed opportunity for ppl who love pure musical magic.
I am so blessed to have seen Hem in my small home town in Ireland, spellbound by her beautiful voice. Then when they finished I talked to some of the musicians, was introduced to all the band and spent ages talking to Sally who is super sweet and kind as you would expect.
A great band. I was very touched when they sang a song I requested them to play the afternoon be❤fore the gig, that they never usually performed live. They dedicated The Beautiful Sea that to me that night. I will never forget it. Thanks, HEM.
I. .we ..are all very fortunate and pleased, down deep inside. That you found each other. There is something compelling, fundamental, in the rested feelings of completeness, HEM's music imparts. For a lack of better description, the experience haunts me. So much so, that I need to listen, experience the feelings elicited inside.. my heart, on a regular basis. It is healing for my heart! Yeah, that's it! I need the emotions engendered by your compositions. Thank you, I am grateful for all the many years of experiencing your music. I am thrilled and contented that you are back in the scene, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year for us all! b.
