Another great lesson. Simple and playable and great sounding. That's what I'm looking for. You are the best teacher for me on you tube. I play a variation of 1-5-6-4 that gives a bit of a different flavor. Regular G - D (2nd fret 6th string and 2nd fret 3rd string and pick the open D, Em, C 3rd fret 5th string, 2nd fret 4th string. I finger pick it all. Soulful vibe. Then you can do variations off that. G-D-Em-C-D Tears in Heaven. The first D is that other D not the regular one. Maybe its not a D but am substituting for it. It's a G minor 7th.
Thank you! Appreciate that lesson ❤ and as for digging deep, not to be too controversial, but I dig to the other side because i don’t believe a thing the media tells us😅but, this is not the venue for that topic😅😊😂
Hi again... hope youre having a fine day. The gibson sounds good. Good to think of the melody with chord progressions sometimes the inversions used can throw people off of how it makes sense with the melody....does me... quick explanation of inversions would look like this: its how you can get 3 chords of different shapes for the same chord going up the neck: Major chord: numbers are tone numbers of the major scale: where it starts from the root and name of the chord: root inversion would be 135 then the first inversion would be 351 the second would be 513..... so if you think of the 3 higher note strings G B and E .. your standard D cowboy chord will have the 5th note of the chord on the bottom the first note next and the 3rd note in the chord will be on top.. thats a second inversion- If an E standard easy chord bottom will be the 3rd note the 5th note will be next and the root of the chord next. Thats a 1st inversion -If an A standard chord , the bottom note will have the root the next will have the 3rd and the next string will have the 5th of the chord thats the root inversion -examples are of the 3 higher note strings - It can be applied to any set of 3 strings Of course if you get 7th chords you will get a third inversion and it will follow the same pattern did you see the axis of awesome? thats where they play a whole bunch of songs with the same progression its old like 14 years
I think you just went over my head🤣 Theory is so fascinating to me. I would love to better understand the inversion. I will look into your note here. Thanks so much for taking the time to share.❤️
That's Tillie. In the video 3 days before you could not see her, but you could hear her!!🤣 she was snoring so loud! Thanks for watching ❤️ ruclips.net/video/fIi6o0BJpaQ/видео.htmlsi=23R2xUveIyB9vMmi
I must say, I love your easy, laid back way of teaching. It is the perfect pace making it easy to grasp what you are teaching. I gotta ask though, where in California you are. I was born in Madera but my father was in the Air Force so moved away when I was young. Thanks so much for your excellent videos.
I just subscribed. I’m 70 years old now. My avatar photo is me playing my 1937 Martin 0-17 back in 1980 I was 25 years old. I bought the Martin back in 1970 for $20. I also own a Gibson Custom shop Nick Lucas Brazilian Rosewood I bought from 2016. I always enjoy your videos
@@guitarnotionsThanks. For the fast response. Funny you and I are a lot a like. I own 20 high end guitars now. In my next guitar I’d like to get a Lowden F-50 Cedar-Walnut or walnut top back and sides it is probably the most clear warm sounding guitars. It is fun to have guitars in my life. what gift from God
I just discovered your channel, and love it...and you and your laid back style! My fingerstyle is just like yours, as if we learned from the same book, so to speak...lol. Liked and subscribed! BTW, MY favorite key for Mr. Bojangles is D.
I like those L-1’s. A few years ago (around 2009) I got to try one at the Gibson factory showroom in Nashville. I believe it was pre Robert Johnson Signature model. It was for sale and I was very close to buying it but didn’t. I still think about it now and then but I have some very nice acoustics so I can’t really complain that much 😉.
The C progression beginning on the 6 (minor) would work with Zombie too. So many recognizable songs using this one. Love all the song possibilities in all these chord progressions. Thank you for this wonderful lesson, Cindy💝

@@guitarnotions,it's funny how true that is. A few year's and I started getting this phenomenon and wasn't unhappy about it. Thanks for making my days brighter. That's a whale of a tale. Lol
Only difference with me, I play in E flat. My guitar's respond better to being tuned down as well as my fingers. Don't know if you know this but 432mh is more pleasant to the spirit. The music industry changed it cause thry knew we'd find more peace. That's why people like certain artists more, cause they stayed true and played 432mh. All tuners are, in my mind broken.
I am so impressed with your way to present a guitar lesson. Thank so much for all you do.
So glad you are enjoying my videos. I appreciate it so much❤️

Glad it was helpful!❤️

Hi I've been watching you lately and I find the videos interesting. What I would like to see is the chores down the neck that you played in the intro
Great suggestion! I will work on a way to explain it. Thanks a bunch❤️

On your last example 2-5-1-6 the chord diagram shows Em instead of Am.
Must have fallen asleep about that time🤣 thanks ❤️
