Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic.
He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on.
The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin"
The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind"
The sun is "The light of the World"
The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea.
"He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays.
Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo.
The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.
The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes.
The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.
The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe.
In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens.
Christianity is ancient astrology, it's just fables about the sun.

Jesus of Nazareth is one of my favorite Biblical movies. I've seen it about 5 times. I never noticed that it had so many inaccuracies, but it's far better than a good chunk of Bible movies.
By the way, my first viewing was because I borrowed it from a church friend who had it on VHS. I watched it in parts and got it done in a month. :)

I would disagree about the acting of Robert Powell. Sure he doesn’t smile much, but he did bring alot of emphasis and confidence in his line deliveries which makes him believable as someone who has authority. Now his style might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but in the end I still think it works in its own way.

    • @CatholicWisdom
      @CatholicWisdom Год назад +3

Yeah, same here. More to the point, the film was intended by Zeffirelli as a series of “paintings in cinema”, inspired by renaissance paintings. Jesus in renaissance paintings was definitely not very expressive, but more of an abstract visualization of Him.

My perception of Robert Powell’s performance was perfect. Those blank stares you mentioned, when I saw that, I perceived it as if he speaks from personal experience of his divine home in heaven guided with the Holy Spirit. I know when I tell an anecdotal recollection, I look blankly into space as I’m recounting my experience. Now there some Catholic priests on RUclips that decided to rate all the actors who played Jesus, and their review on Robert Powell was he played Jesus as too divine, which to them was unrelatable. I have to disagree because according to the Gospel of John states that according to scripture, his communication style would include the use of parables, metaphors, and smilies. A unique method to help people understand the truth which is universally relatable.

Yeah. The movie has some innacuracies. But Jesus personality is very accurate in the movie. And I'm surprised some people thought this movie depicts Jesus as human only. Not true. At the end we do see Him alive again.

I really don't understand why people thought this movie only depicts Jesus as a human being and not as the Son of God. The supernatural moments are implied. But not excluded. Just cause there are zero special effects doesn't mean it neglects His divinity. I doubt there was enough technology for that back in the 70s. Besides back then , people placed an emphasis on the acting , the accessories and the background more. Not like now , where we have special effects and all kinds of stunts. Good old days of film and entertainment and faith. Robert Powell had a really interesting interview about this movie. In the interview he talked much about faith and Jesus etcetera. Now we got all these stupid Tik Tokers.

The errors you mention are minor. I do agree about how John the Baptist performed the baptisms. They should have been by submersion. I especially like the scene with the Centurion played by Ernest Borgnine.

It’s very confusing and for a newer Christian they might not really understand how this can mislead them so thank you for the clarification and praise God that I can discern things from the TRUTH the only living word of God our Bible! ❤ Im going to read my Bible tonight! It is critical to read it EVERYDAY especially when your someone like me who wanted to just watch a film 🎥 that is fine and all but again you really need to always pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance because it is so easy in these times without any prayer to really stay focused and continue building your relationship and learning about our one and only true God! ❤

I recommended this before, but could you please do Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie? That would be funny!
(There were no cheese curls. ENH! There was no Slap of No Return. ENH! Go Fish wasn't a game back then. ENH!)
Also: Pasolini's The Gospel According To St. Matthew, The Gospel Road, The Visual Bible: Matthew/Acts/The Gospel of John, The King of Kings (1927), King of Kings (1961), and The Greatest Story Ever Told would be other good Jesus movies.
PS: The Bible: In The Beginning for an Old Testament movie.
I could recommend others, but PLEASE definitely do Jonah, please!

And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.not to say I disagree that this was a liberty taken. This is one example of one seeing and another not able to see what God was doing.

This series is miles ahead of The Chosen. The Actor that plays Jesus in The Chosen is a Roman Catholic and professing Knight's Templar. Is that someone you want portraying the role of Jesus? Nonetheless as I go through my research on gospel movies, Jesus of Nazareth seems to hold up the best. Personally I enjoy Jesus of Nazareth and then The Passion of the Christ for the ending portion.

    • @MLGGiraffe
      @MLGGiraffe Месяц назад

Nobody is perfectly fit for the role of Jesus. Yes, Roumie has his personal issues, but so does literally every other actor who has ever portrayed Jesus. All have fallen short of the glory of God, it's the actual performance and portrayal you need to judge and hold up to scripture. Jim Caviezel (the actor who portrays Jesus in The Passion of the Christ) is also a Roman Catholic, as well as Mel Gibson, the director of the film.
The Chosen does have a handful of issues with their portrayal of Jesus. Particularly, my biggest issue I took was with the leading up to the sermon on the mount. I believe their portrayal of Jesus in this time is inaccurate and I didn't like how they handled it. But aside from this one scene, it's a fairly solid portrayal, where I only have smaller nitpicks here and there.
Unfortunately, many who criticize that show, I don't believe have actually watched much of it, if any at all (I'm not accusing you, I'm just speaking generally here). The show is certainly worthy of some valid critique, but much of it has been puffed up. I had to watch the show for myself to realize that much of the controversy is nonsense.
Not sure if you've seen them or not, but this channel has actually done videos analyzing each season of the show and ranking it's Biblical accuracy. Each season so far has scored pretty high, with the biggest inaccuracies typically being timeline changes. I'd recommend checking them out if you haven't already.

20:03 They probably left out the ear cutting because it was too difficult to pull off that kind of thing convincingly in the '70s. The Jesus Film of 1978 includes it, and, from what I've read, it was pretty difficult to get it to appear correctly and took many takes.

King of Kings was more action driven, focused mainly on the Roman Oppression and the conflict between the Romans and Zealots. The world around Jesus, Jesus’ story was more of a side plot. Greatest Story Ever Told was more spiritual, focused heavily on Jesus’ ministry and teachings.

If you read this, can you tell me if you believe in a pre- or post-tribulation? Thanks and I want to encourage you again.

How can you interpret the apocalyptic literary style of Revelation as “when Jesus will come back, there will ACTUALLY be bloodshed and violent judgement” ? Have I misunderstood what you said at 4:55 ? I’m sure you know that out of the books of the Bible, Revelation is probably the one that we have to read the least literally?

Not surprising, coming from Hollywood, but it is surprising that no one seems to notice.

I think you're being highly critical, ridiculously so, thousands of people got saved from this movie, obviously small details, if you're NOT A CHRISTIAN YET, or don't every word of the Gospels, in detail, how would you know that? Do you witness to people by giving them the entire Old and New Testaments?! Of course, after getting saved, if you truly repent, and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit or a Christian will instruct you, and you'll learn through a Pastor, and do as Scripture says! There were a few things, as you say, I saw being theatrical like when Jesus spoke about the Law, and a few other things! The Holy Spirit is the One who draws you to Christ, as JESUS SAID, No man can come unless the Spirit draw him, and the Holy Ghost was definitely felt in this movie, you can look at thousands of comments and see how many people were saved! Some of what you say is ridiculous, you've obviously read the Bible, studied it, and have been saved awhile, however people being drawn to Jesus Christ, and the Gospel, don't have all that information! You remind me a bit of a Pharisee, lol, but as a brother, you're entitled to your opinion. I agree with the depiction of Judas, definitely off, but I read some of the Gospel before seeing this movie. The Gospel accounts, each one, have slightly different interpretations, some leave out things others put in, I think the generation you came up in is WAY TOO TECHNICAL, not enough Grace, which is what calls us to the Cross of Calvary, RIGHT?!

In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens.
Christianity is ancient astrology, it's just fables about the sun.
