Fendi reinvented the feminine silhouette for next autumn and winter, and it has curves.
The Fendi woman is cinched, even corseted, at the waist, with bulbous sleeves and soft quilted textures. To emphasise the strong shapes, Fendi also revamped the showroom, installing plush quilted sofas set up in curves, as if to say this was a place where a woman could project power.
But don’t be fooled by the femininity. There was a suggestion of a 1950s housewife, with A-line skirts and fur collars, but also a dominatrix in a sleek leather coat with squared shoulders and matching boots. Dresses in wool crepe or cotton had built-in criss-cross scarves draping down the back for a powerful super-heroine effect. The female form accented by a thin belt and look finished with satin bootees or ankle-strapped pumps.
The silhouette, refreshingly, worked for curvier models. One wore a soft yellow double-breasted coat with a corseted waist. A series of sheer lingerie looks also included size extensions.
Hair was done high off the neck, with headbands worn across the nape of the neck, instead of over the crown.

This is an absolutely breath-taking show!! The tailoring! The materials! The silhouettes! The footwear!! The colours! Fendi has outdone itself as a major house of fashion. Forward looking, unique, beautiful. Along with incredible talent, this designer actually has incredibly good taste.

I will never support FENDI due to the use of real fur but from the design point of view this show is quite amazing!!
Get over it. People use leather every day. In Canada, the Northern people only survived because of wearing furs and using them for blankets. I see cow hide rugs and kangaroo skin hats everywhere. People also use animals for food, for water filters, insulation, rubber, antifreeze, certain plastics, floor waxes, crayons, chalk, adhesives and fertilizer (USDA, 2016). Lard is fat from pig abdomens and is used in shaving creams, soaps, make-up, baked goods and other foods. Animal products are also used in wax paper, crayons, margarine, paints, rubber, lubricants, candles, soaps, lipsticks, shaving creams, shampoos, face masks and other cosmetics. Also as a thickener for fruit gelatins and puddings (like Jell-O), candies and marshmallows. The bones, hooves and horns of sheep are also used to make products such as gelatin, tape, brushes and pet food ingredients. Unless you never use any of these things, and many more, there is no room to talk. The fur industry allows an entire culture of Inuit to eke out a bare sustenance of a life. They respect animals, and trap them in environmentally friendly ways, unlike many vegetarian crops such as soy, lentils, corn, etc. If you choose to not use furs, I respect that, but don't tell me or anyone else how to live their lives. It risks sounding righteous and hypocritical.
