My ex-wife is deaf, but has always been a HUGE John Denver fan. The only concert we went to together was him in Concord, CA. She can hear lower frequencies better than higher ones. She doesn’t always comment when I share VoicePlay or Home Free videos to the family chat with her and our two sons, but when I shared this one she said, “Where’s all that bass coming from in that skinny dude?!?!”
Have you introduced her to The Bass Gang and The individual artists in the group? She might be able to catch some notes, especially with Marwan and Tomi.

@@randiskye4444 , I guess you missed the “ex-“ part. I had a cat that was rescued the day after Christmas. She had some kind of traumatic injury to her tail, so the SPCA amputated the end of it when they spayed her. She had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia that caused some brain damage, leaving her partially blind and totally deaf. I live in San Francisco, and she slept through the Blue Angels flying directly overhead during Fleet Week. They could rattle the windows, but not Rosemari!

I think we all get that feeling looking at him and listening too. This however looks like farmland around Orlando - I grew up near there - feels like home. I have 77 acres here in north Florida, planting some foodstuffs and LOTS of flowers, have deer to kick out of the way, bobcats, foxes, an occasional bear down in the spring-fed creek at the ravine. I LOVE it here.
Geoff took so much teasing about his hair blowing in the wind. This was the only one he did outdoors until he got to Man of Constant Sorrow, which was shot at the same ranch.
This was the first video of Geoff's I ever saw, I still love it. :) As I remember this was the one that first got the question: When did Geoff become a Disney Princess? Or something like that. Yes it was the hair blowing in the breeze that did it. :) You know that he was born in Viginia? I spent a year on a smallholding aged 4 with cows and chickens and though I've lived in cities since, the countryside still has a place in my heart. Maybe that's why this one hit me so hard.
Another reactor said that Geoff's voice leaves us with “ear orgasms” and I have never agreed so much with a definition of his voice. 😅 And I love that he takes us to the bottom and then smiles as if he hasn't left us breathless.🥵

Geoff's cover....this was my maternal grandmother's favorite song, because they lived in West Virginia for a good while, so it always reminds me of her. I think she would have loved this one a lot.

I live here in America in the south on a farm, and yes, getting up and feeding the chickens and milking the cows and slapping the hogs and letting the horses out to graze taking the goats to feed. It’s a lot of work but that aside, Geoff is phenomenal in this one and yes, he is truly a gorgeous man.
About the breathing on long notes: It's something all singers practice. It's all about NOT gasping. Instead you drop your diaphgram and flare the muscles in your sides to create a vacuum that fills your lungs fast and silent. Most people do it on instinct when suprised but it can take a while to learn to do it consciously. When you do it right, you can come out of a long note and be ready to sing again in under a second.
I absolutely adore this version of this song. I have heard other versions but there is something that makes me want to buy a ranch about Geoff's version. And the eye candy might help...LOL

From what I hear and have read, farms and ranches in Australia are approximately the size of Texas. So big they herd sheep in planes. Is that true? Also, excellent reaction! I don't think any of us are ever going to get used to Geoff's skills. Especially because he's always adding to them!

Yeah, Geoff would make a great country singer imho. I just love his voice and he seems to be a really cool guy. But that might be because we were born in the same year.. 😀
That said and having watched some of your videos now, I think you might like Ayreon. That project has great singers, cool music (Prog, Metal, Rock, Folk), some Musical Theatre elements, so I figure you might enjoy having a look. I'd recommend "The Day That The World Breaks Down" as a starting point. It has text pop ups with background infos about the singers, recording and story from the composer/producer.
