I’ve had a few tools from Metabo over the years and they proved to be pretty heavy duty and reliable.. Good choice mate 🤘🏻😉

If anyone is thinking of getting a single hose AC unit, think about all the air, it just pushed out of the bus/camper. Since we can't live in a vacuum, all that air needs to be replaced by hot outside air. (Always get a dual hose)

100% agree! the only reason im using this one, is because it was free! LOL. and also the ventilation i recently installed allows for that air to be replaced from underneath. so far, it manages to keep things cool in here till about 5 or 6pm.. then the temps start to run away as the thermal mass of the luggage bays and undercarriage is depleted. then things cool back down overnight and 'recharge' for the next day :^)

@@TotallyNormal- I have one in my garage but I use it as a air exchanger. I have the one with the heat pump and A/C. I fix small engines, lawn mowers, snow blowers... I can run then inside for a bit and all the exhaust fumes get sucked out. Also have a separate A/C unit if I want to stay cool and heater for winter. I was going to install a separate air exchanger but the single hose unit was easier and cheaper. I did a video on it called how I heat my garage.

I noticed the new breakers have an air space underneath them so should run cooler .

Good video and nice explanation of the trouble you were having.
Those breakers look like a knockoff of the Bussman 185 series breakers which interestingly max out at 150A. The one you took apart didn't appear to have enough bits inside to definitively trip when overloaded. In normal designs of breaker the bimetallic strip flexes as it heats up when overloaded and pushes on a mechanism that releases a sizeable spring to forcefully and rapidly separates the contacts to minimize arcing and excessive heating of the contacts while disconnecting the load.

yea.. exactly! not sure how they intended for it to actually trip... guess it would just all melt, and that would do the job LOL.

@@TotallyNormal- Would be fun to wire one up to a welder and see if it trips, melts, or goes on fire

i still have one left!! LOL

I was surprised that spring was so small. The arcing on the contacts also makes them stick together which leads to premature failure.

    Good morning Dan,
I live in the Chicago area just for reference. I'm in the process of getting a new wheelchair through my insurance company. Do to my medical needs they are recommending a Permobil M3. It comes with series 24 75amphour batteries. Would you know if there are 100 aph batteries I could put in this chair? I'm trying to increase the mileage of the chair.

group 24 batteries are the max size that will fit the chair. there are companies making higher capacity batteries that fit in the same space, but i would avoid those! they're not nearly as durable and reliable. MK AGM group 24 batteries should give you around 10-12 miles pretty easily in that chair. depending on factors, possibly up to 14 miles.. but that's in ideal conditions.
the new 'Volt Pro' batteries are capable of up to 14-16 miles.. BUT i haven't had a chance to test them myself yet to verify
