  • Simple ways to balance out your worm bin if you have an infestation of pot worms.
    Pot worms will increase in population if the worm bin becomes too acidic or too wet.
    So for elimination purposes I used both lime to neutralise the bin and aerated it to help dry it out and moved it back undercover.
    I'd appreciate if you would subscribe to my new channel if you love worms or share my videos with others you many know, that would be awesome.

      Hello and welcome. Thankyou for your kind words.😀❤️ I will go through and add Hebrew in the translation of this one and my other videos. I'm pretty sure I can still do this but I think youtube took that feature away recently. However you can try the CC on the video to see if it will translate it too. I hope you enjoy the variety of videos I upload. 😊🦘❤️🇦🇺Cheryl
      Following up on the subtitles , most of them you can click the little cog wheel on the bottom of the video and click auto translate and press the cc tab as well . I have tried it out on some of the videos and it shows Hebrew on there. RUclips has taken away the option for me to do it on more recent videos. I hope this helps you. 🙂🙂🦘🦘🌺🌺Cheryl

      תודה רבה לך ויום ניפלא

      Thankyou for your comment. It's very encouraging. What I have noticed with the bin is once it dries out more they all flee to the walls and lid. Easy to scoop out and get rid of. 😀

    Thanks for this. I have indoor bins ( they are a bit too moist) but I was wondering how they even got in ?! 😅 I thought they were tiny baby worms at first lol

    • @downundervlogs
      @downundervlogs  Год назад +1

      If you can try and dry the bin out more by using the lime or even add a lot more dry paper or cardboard to help soak up the extra moisture. It is a mystery how they do
      seem to appear. Small amounts are ok but not like mine was where they took over. Thanks for watching. 🙂🦘Cher

      So I have quite a few now too, conpost bin got too wet. If I remove a whole bunch by hand what do I do with them?

    • @downundervlogs
      @downundervlogs  Год назад +1

      I would suggest on some dry dirt or on an area that is dry. They will die off quickly. If you leave your worm farm lid up to dry out a bit you will start to notice they will congregate around the sides looking for moisture and die off too. I did try an experiment by leaving some in a tray of water and after days and days they were still alive. Hope that helps and thanks for watching and your question. 😀🦘Cher

    I saw itty-bitty pot worms when I first got going (I have both the Tumbleweed Café and the Can of Worms), but I haven’t seen any for the last year. As you said, they are probably in there, but in low enough numbers that they aren’t discernible. It begs the question - where do they go?? Great video!

      It's amazing how these little creatures end up in our bins. My hungry bin has gotten them once before too. But being so high up off the ground they would have a trek to get there. I assume possibly they may be in some of the mushroom compost I add but who knows. Thanks for dropping by.:-)

      I'm glad you watched my video. Thankyou. I let too much water go into my worm bin from the rain and the pot worms loved it. Not too good for the composting worms If you allow your bin to dry out with the lid off in the sunshine to help reduce the moisture in there,you may notice the potworms gathering on the sides and the lid of your farm and you can also then scoop them off.

    hi, i moved to under the eve of the roof added lots of torn up paper and sugar cane mulch....have you a bucket under the tap... it should always be open... i also took the blanket off as it soaks up too much liquid.... and stays wet....

    • @downundervlogs
      @downundervlogs  2 года назад +1

      I just recently moved that worm bin out to get a bit more sun as its been so cold but hadn't put a tarp over to protect it more however it has one on now. Putting in the cotton towel was to help soak up excess moisture and also they seem to enjoy congregating on and under it. Thanks for stopping by.
