Thank you for your review! You are a very good paddler and obviously very fit. After trying my new Stingray today, I must say, I am very impressed. For someone on the wrong side of 50, I think this is a better choice than the Ono Ava 105. I will keep my Ono Ava just in case but with a damaged (and old) shoulder, the paddle is pretty hard on the body, especially when you paddle everyday. No elbow or shoulder pain with the Stingray. Less grunt and a few more strokes required but overall more linear and smoother take off. The faster cadence also seem to suit my HA foil pump better than the more grunty and slower cadence Ono Ava. Anyway, just for the pain alone (lack of), it is worth it. If you are young and fit, the Ono Ava is awesome. The release of the Stingray is pretty amazing too which helps the fast cadence so much.

Nice compare. If you have to buy one? It seems Ono Ava easy take off but if you aren’t very fit is it maybe better Stingray? Thanks

I’d go with the ono Ava for most people. The stingray if you are a lighter rider, have good technique, or bad shoulders where the big blade could injure them.

Unifoil 250 in the middle of the Dagger boxes which are pretty far forward.

Any comment whether the stingray 72 paddle is a good one for rowing in OC6 and OC1?!

@@ismaelhajar6006I have heard good things but can’t comment as I’ve only used them on the SUP.
