Firmware update procedure for Olympus C-5050 camedia digital camera. This update must be applied manually because the camera is too old for the software updater.

Windows 11 recognizes the camera after updating to this firmware, it didn't do it before this update.

I updated but it can't read my Toshiba 1GB CF card
My 5050 with latest firmware has no problem using a Silicon Power 2GB CompactFlash. Did you format the card inside the camera? It often doesn't work if the card is formatted in a PC or other camera.
I have c5050 coming, I don't have windows but I use linuxmint..., I wonder if this is going to be a problem...
No issues at all. Use your file manager to create the same directory structure that you see in the video.

If the screen wrinkled and broken, can it be replace or fixed?
not economically feasible, you can find nice working C-5050 for well less than $50. Usually I see them for around $30.
@@bigslickyea its about around $30 dollar, the cons is the screen is wrinkled from outside, and viewfinder little bit dusty, but it stiil alive, what do i do? Should i take it? With that cons

I dont see any difference in startup time.
What did the firmware change ?
I am not aware of any published list of changes in v83. From past experience with other Olympus camedia firmwares, the changes are typically "bug fixes", better memory card compatibility, frequently a little improvement with focus speed/performance, and sometimes a tweak to the noise reduction algorithm.
