Glad to be of help here 😃! If you have any doubts you can ask me And if I don’t know the answer I will search hehe In this vid I went very fast because it is done in a single take 😝
Great video! I am having an issue when switching to 8K RAW. Once I hit confirm on the Atomos after changing the settings on the R5, the Ninja V+ screen goes completely red, and I can't do anything or see anything until I turn it off and back on again and change the menu settings back to a lower resolution. Any help is appreciated!
So when set to 8k raw, the only picture profile available is clog2. Does that mean we get clog2 using the V+? And when u shoot like that, u still keep clog3 on the R5 correct??
You are correct, however when editing the files male sure you set the raw files to appear in Clog gamma if you are using premiere to get that flat color goodness 😆
How about cropping when using the crop mode with ninja v+ ? Which lenses you would use, since one would lose some of Field of view . thanks for sharing😁
I have it set to canon log 2 because it promotes better dynamic range and in my experience when working on premiere pro and changing the color space from source files the color grading gets even easier
@@prskyviews The c70 is a great camera, but the lack of a supported EVF is a dealbreaker for me. I bought a RED Komodo (still waiting for it) at the end of 2021 for cinema work, but I am almost definitely going to be buying a R5c for commercial and doc work. I just need to get the financing figured out after getting the KOMODO. Keep up the great work on the channel, I know how hard that climb to the 1st 1K subscribers is!
@@DeafDirector Oh! The Komodo that is exciting!!! Cant wait to see your vids on it! I have been tempted as well but the R5c for me is a substantial financial hit hehe. I am in that struggle of finding the 1K in subscribers but enjoying my time making vids 😊
@@prskyviews The KOMODO was definitely a hard hit for me, too! I'll be excited to be getting both of these cameras and hopefully justify the debt with some new work.
I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you... I have a question... The video that opened this clip looks to be 2.35:1 aspect ratio. How did you shoot that on the Canon R%? Did you just crop in the post? It pisses me off that Canon doesn't give you an option to shoot in 2.35:1 or 2.4:1 Do you have any framing guides on the Ninja v+ ? I own a Canon R5 and am thinking I'd get a Ninja V+ instead of a Canon R5C because of the ability to shoot without any limitations timewise for the R5 with Ninja V+. I'd appreciate knowing how you shoot 2.35:1 with your R5? Thanks, Joe ray Skrha, Kenai, Alaska
Wow you are from Alaska! That is awesome 🤩 The way I shoot in that aspect ratio is by shooting in 8k or 5k DCI and cropping a bit in post to get the widest 2.35:1 ratio. I agree that getting the Ninja V+ will save you money and it speeds up the workflow in post tremendously! Go to adorama.com there is a bundle with all you need to start filming right away! Cheers!
@@jerrywaynecalloway well rec 709, 2020 or adobe rbg are more for color interpretation so i just use conversion luts for them to have more of an idea of how the final image will look like
hello so I have a beach video portrait soon and have this same set up...do you recommend I shoot in 5K or the 8K, also I'm not able to do 4K 120 with the Ninja V+?
It will depend on the size of your storage and the duration of the production, if you shoot 8k file sizes are bigger bit will have more room to crop If you want some slo-mo I recomend shooting 5k 60fps and shooting the main footage in 23.976fps. Also there is a trick to get the 120p from the camera to the ninja which is, Recording the 120 normally then going into the playback menu with the ninja v ready to record and record the 120 from the playback menu
Thank you, I have a question, how can I keep the settings ‚hdmi output on’ on the R5. Everytime I turn the camera off to save battery and turn it on again I have to go through the menu and turn on again the hdmi ourput. Thanks for your thoughts
Thanks for your video, I’m really new in this matter. All your described steps were followed in my configuration but the record button on the ninja V+ is still blank, it’s not pink ready to record. I have both cards inserted in R5, I press the record button on the camera and the camera started recording on the camera. Then I take the cards out from the camera but the record button on the ninja is still black, do you have any idea what I missed ?
@@prskyviews thank you again, I started from the beginning again and it works perfectly, for sure something was wrong on my settings either or both. I was able to play later from the Ninja to the 4K TV, looks fine but with a lot of grain. I think I have to play with the aperture, ISO and the shooter speed. I was shooting in M mode with autofocus. Have you had issues using Rec 709 or Cinema Gamut from R5 settings into Ninja V+? A RUclipsr recommend to use Rec 2020.
Havent had any issues, rec 2020 is mostly used for exporting HDR content, I have tried rec 2020 but I dont like the workflow of hdr very much

Image quality and even at f2.8 aperture very sharp, makes beautiful images.
