      Both are correct: if I ask to people(do you need some help? I am sure that help it requires it is a positive point on reaching out to help.).On the other hand,if I say to people:do you need any help?I do not know whether help is must or not.They might need to be helped or not.

      @englishspeaking360 Dear Teacher!
      Would you be so kind to answer me to the following question which one is the most correct answer: She asked me if I wanted to give you a ride after the concert or She asked me if I had wanted to give you a ride after the concert

    • @englishspeaking360
      @englishspeaking360  4 дня назад

      @FayziyevFirdavs Hello! This is a problem for many students. Here's the answer.
      Reported Speech: "Wanted" vs. "Had Wanted"
      When reporting a question in the past, the verb usually shifts one tense back. However, the choice between "wanted" and "had wanted" depends on the original situation.
      1️⃣ Original Question: "Do you want to give me a ride after the concert?"
      Reported Speech: She asked me if I wanted to give her a ride after the concert.
      ✅ Use "wanted" because the original question was in the present ("do you want"), so we shift to past simple ("wanted").
      2️⃣ Original Question: "Did you want to give me a ride after the concert?"
      Reported Speech (Formal/Precise): She asked me if I had wanted to give her a ride after the concert.
      Reported Speech (Common/Conversational): She asked me if I wanted to give her a ride after the concert.
      ✅ Use "had wanted" for a strict past-before-past sequence. However, in casual English, "wanted" is often used instead because the meaning is already clear.

      @englishspeaking360 Thank you very much for the clear explanation. I would also like to ask you a couple more questions if you don't mind. Which one is correct? 1) I must remember ASKING Ed to take notes for me while I am away next week or I must remember TO ASK Ed to take notes for me while I am away next week.
      2) Which one is correct?
      The studio lights went out while the footballer HAD BEEN interviewed or The studio lights went out while the footballer
      WAS BEING interviewed.
      3) Which one is correct? I wanted to see Harry. How long ago HAS HE LEFT or I wanted to see Harry. How long ago DID HE LEAVE.
      4) Which one is correct?
      Turn RIGHT and you'll see the museum on the left or Turn ON THE RIGHT and you'll see the museum on the left.

    • @englishspeaking360
      @englishspeaking360  Месяц назад

      You're welcome! The difference between "a lot" and "lots of" is minimal, and in most cases, they can be used interchangeably. However, there are some subtle distinctions:
      "A lot of" is slightly more formal than "lots of."
      "Lots of" is more casual and commonly used in spoken English.
      Examples:
      Formal: "A lot of people attended the conference."
      Casual: "Lots of people came to the party."
      Both phrases are used to indicate a large quantity and work with:
      Countable nouns: "A lot of books" / "Lots of chairs"
      Uncountable nouns: "A lot of water" / "Lots of money"
      They mean the same in these cases, so you can choose based on tone or style.
