Oasis was front pages of every newspaper on almost a daily basis from 1995 to 1997. Every Oasis album was number 1 and Liam and Noels solo albums have also all been number 1, countless number 1 singles. The Smiths were voted most influential British Band ever in front of the Beatles and Stones etc, the Stone Roses filled Stadiums all over the World after 16 years separation and have a debut album that is consistently voted best ever British album, then you have Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays, Simply Red, M People and The Buzzcocks. The Courteeners have had nowhere near the success of any of the above. I admire your enthusiasm but it's a bit ridiculous to label them as best band in the world when there's at least 5 bigger and better bands just from Manchester and that's without mentioning The Who, the clash, the Beatles, the rolling stones, dire straits, led zepplin, pink Floyd, the stranglers, the sex pistols, blur, the verve, muse, arctic monkeys, kasabian, radiohead, beautiful South and queen. Interviewer is so so good here as an aspiring journalist. Controls the entire thing so well, gets a lot out of Fray. Real depth to the interview but it didn’t feel like it.
