Sunday School July 21, 2024

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday School Lesson for July 21, 2024, prepared by the Northlake Blvd. Church of the Nazarene in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. We are Bunny and Jim McLellan, your fellow Bible students and guides. This is the first of 6 lessons from the book of revelation.
I have in ,the somewhat distant past studied Biblical prophecy including an 18-month long class based on the book of Revelation. If you are interested in prophecy don’t get too excited, because we are not going to study the prophecies of the book of Revelation. We are going to see what the book of revelation can teach us about true Worship.
The title of this first lesson is “Heaven Is All About Worship” with the subtitle:” Worship is the primary activity of heaven.”
From this lesson we want to understand that heaven is about worshiping God. Maybe we can learn something to improve the way we worship our Heavenly Father now. Last Week: We learned that in times of despair, we can go to God and experience His mercy and faithfulness.
This Week: We will learn how the worship of heaven is a constant declaration of God’s worth, glory, honor, power, and creativity.
A little insight, Patmos is a tiny island in the Aegean Sea. Most visitors to Patmos come primarily because of its association with John, author of the book of Revelation. Ancient Christian tradition tells us that John was exiled by the Roman Emperor for his Christian faith on the Isle of Patmos.
Our scripture for today is Revelation chapter 4 verses 1thru 11. You may be wondering about chapters 1 thru 3. Chapter 1 records John’s vision of Christ and chapters 2 and 3 record the letters Christ dictated to John for delivery to seven churches in asia,
