Brill breakdown and comparison mate love the vids. One point that might help if you are looking at continuing the comparison vids is maybe try and stick to one side one ship. Swapping sides on some slides started to confuse me a bit but then I am a simple soul lol.
awesome video! got my Atago B from a crate, and like u said she is the best looking one of them all! curious if u will be doing a G.K. build! i know u don't like it but curious on how u would spec her out! keep ur vids coming!
The perk for Atago btw isn't just increased fire chance it's increased damage. And it does suck because you can take more damage but I always look at this cruiser line as squishy anyway. When you get a nice salvo off with that Molotive skill it looks so good. I might try a agile build while still using Atago and see how it works out. Might change my Azuma's concealment mod to Steering Gears as well and try that. I'm still going to eventually get the Mogami because it's used in a lot of bureau research. Edit: Watched through a bit more and noticed that the concealment for both of these is 11 and on my Myoko I have 10.8 with the concealment module (without camo) so I might try out the Steering Gears after all and see if I like it.
@@VIIHIPPER Np. If it was just fire chance I don't think I would use her at all. I have been enjoying the Japanese cruiser line however what you said about them not being able to be that aggressive is true and I have lost games because even though I harassed the other team I couldn't do much else and I sometimes feel like this line depends on the team being good more than usual.
I actually love using AL commander on my Atago. Arsonist is such a beast of a skill that I don't mind losing the speed and rudder shift. I use Sponge in the third row and a high level Sansonetti as an inspiration and it completely offsets that +10% damage from using Arsonist. Then I use double rudder and AL Balti as my other inspiration to boost the agility. I find it to be one of the most balanced agility/offensive builds for a cruiser.
Hello Hipper! I just got into your agile builds after seeing the insane speed and rudder shift stats. By total coincidence, I was gonna ask what an aggressive build looks like and whether to use Atago or Mogami! This video couldn't have been better timed! I grinded out 750k FXP for her. She's my fav. CA and I can't wait for Azur Lane to return so I can buy the skin.
So if you have Hipper and Mogami, which is so much better over their tech tree counterpart to warrant getting first, Prince Eugen or Atago? I know you love Eugen but which is better over their brother? I love Hipper and do well in her, Mogami I like but don’t do as good. So would I freaking love Eugen, or should I go Atago to realize INJ potential because I do enjoy Mogami. Coming up on my 750k now.
I can see I'm not the only one, i tried to make hipper make the impossible choice for me not long ago. For what it's worth i went atago and have absolutely loved it. Steaming bow in at 42 knots (my build) towards the helpless battleship with great torp angles is too much fun.
@@pragmaticduck1772 yeah see I know Eugen is better, but I actually think Hipper is pretty damn strong. Mogami on the other had. I don’t think I’ve survived many game with more than a quarter health. I think I’ll go Atago. I really do enjoy the IJN cruiser. Just seems to need more effort to just not get slammed by one she’ll for 1/2 to 2/3 your health when you make the slightest mistake.
Nice comparison here; appreciate your effort - very good! However, I don't agree with all of your points, specifically regarding the armor advantage of Atago. While she has a thicker central deck (and a much bigger superstructure begging for HE shells), IMHO its only good to arm battleship shells more consistently than Mogami's thin vinyl foil - I get dev-stuck much (much!) more often in Atago than in Mogami which grants more overpenetrations, but that's only from my personal experience, of course. It also sucks that Atago's torp agels don't overlap so you have to turn the ship to a nice, juicy broadside if you want to launch both sets of torpedoes per sideto lay down a nice wall of skill. Atago looks much better of course, but results-wise, I'm doing better in Mogami as Atago gets focus fired a lot as soon as you show yourself on the map whereas the reds don't care much about Mogami.
TheScudrace You do have a point, but mileage vary I guess :) And you’re right about Atago getting focus fired. Back when I played Atago exclusively my attracted damage was 800K - after not playing Atago for 1000 battles it is down to 650K
IMO, Baltimore is more like a small battleship. She isn’t too fast for a cruiser, powerful guns and decent armor. If you want to punish battleships then Balti is your best boat. Hipper is a great cruiser with torps, which the Balti doesn’t have. I think both can bounce 15 in shells off it’s bow and stern. It just comes down to how you want to play your cruiser. Hipper is a great maneuverability cruiser while Baltimore is a great overpowering cruiser that can kind of squish many other cruisers. As Spartan elite 43 says, Balti is the queen of the cruisers, even over the Alaska.
Good vid but I have an issue with your dismissal of AL Atago compared to Yamamoto. You say that Arsonist is the only reason to use AL Atago. This is misleading since the real advantage for AL Atago is the combination of the offensive perks AND Ingenious which Yamamoto doesn't offer. Also the fire chance increase of Atago from Arsonist is better than Yamamoto with both skills selected. I've never found the 10% increased incoming damage to be a problem either. I'm trying to tank damage by dodging shots not getting hit. Let's say that taking a nasty shot from a Baltimore does 10k damage normally. I don't really care that taking that shot with AL Atago will do 11k damage. If you're taking that hit regularly you won't last long either way. Also AL Atagos base trait is arguably more useful than Yamamoto. His increased AP pen pales in comparison to what Punch Through offers and you'll be shooting HE at more heavily armored targets anyways.
A_Dirrty_Bird You make good points, but I still personally don’t like AL Atago due to the fact that she is a hybrid commander and forces me into a playstyle I don’t like. But, like I said, your mileage may vary and if she suits you by all means use the chick :)
Yes, the Atago is the better ship but I kite with them both and I use the Atago captain because of the 1 ability, and getting 120k + damage is pretty easy. They cook BS!
MrJamfy ! True. They do their best work in BB heavy games. I remember when the game was relatively new and I was always the only cruiser in T7 battles. Soooo many BBs to punish lol
@@VIIHIPPER They are great all around! When you get a CS broadside they with citadel them into oblivion and DD's are easy prey if you see them. The torp firing angles on the Atago make it a superior ship to the Mogami.

Nuke2099 It does. You can’t really dig in like Wichita or Eugen can. Atago/Mogami is forced to kite away when pushed aggressively.

Keep doing what you do.

I wish that the Mogami had the option to equip the triple 155mm guns just like the PC Mogami

James T Kirk Hardest question in the game.
