I just chose Medicare Advantage 6 months ago after being put on disability at 61 years old. It just seemed like a no-brainer but felt too good to be true. And my many years I've learned if something looks too good to be true, it always is and that seems to be the case with this Medicare Advantage stuff. I'm so glad I did not put my very elderly and sickly mother on this. So my question to you is now that we are at open enrollment, should I be getting off of this? My 70-year-old husband is on it also. We are not broke yet but anyone could easily be broke without good coverage. We have Aetna PPO Medicare Advantage in Florida and it's actually been great until you need to get something done and they pre-approvals are a pain in the butt. But for basics, it's been working fine and we have not received any notification that our doctors are dropping it or anything. Would we have known that by now if our doctors are dropping Aetna Medicare advantage? Greatly appreciate your advice. I don't know how I came across your video but I've watched it three times to try to figure it out and I'm just not. You're cute as a button though:)))

Well thanks! I'll be honest, in Florida, Medicare Advantage Plans are a whole different ball game- much better than the rest of the country. If your doctor is planning on dropping your plan, they would have likely sent you a letter. That being said, they can drop a plan at any point during the year and they don't really have to give you much warning. In general most of our clients choose Medigap as opposed to Medicare Advantage (no networks, no referrals, no preauthorization, etc...). But the tricky thing is, you are only guaranteed issue in the 6 months after you turn 65 and enroll in Part B. I would recommend giving us a call so we can see what Medigap plans might be available to you and at what cost. You can do this at any time. BUT if you do it now before the end of the AEP, you give yourself a little more flexibility. If we go through all of your Medigap options and are unsatisfied, we can look at all of your Medicare Advantage options. If you are under 65, in the first year of your Medicare Advantage Plan or have recently moved, you have a few more options. I hope that makes sense! 888-410-0344. Thanks for your question!

What's with the sudden ENDING of the video?? These AI Editors are getting sloppier and sloppier....

Not AI but I have no IDEA what happened during the upload. Keep them wanting more, I guess? All jokes aside, basically, if you want to learn more, click on either of the elements on the end screen and feel free to call with any questions!

My father just received from his medicare advantage provider that his current plan will be no more because of cost for next year. Does this mean he can apply to Medicare medigap plans since his current plan will be gone next year?

He can but he will have to go thru an underwriter and they will base the price on pre existing conditions....Medicare Advantage plans are awful no one with a conscious should sell a senior one of those

@@Shortie5-1 Yes, I am sorry to say that's correct. If he is going to switch to Medigap, please work with a broker. It can be very difficult to make the switch (and sometimes rather disheartening when you receive denials...). Thanks for your question!

@@akita96th Yes, the drawbacks that we mentioned in the video are major deterrents. Most of our clients end of choosing Medigap for these reasons. It's hard to believe that MA plans are now over HALF the plans! That being said, if you are in Florida, things are a little bit better with MA. Thanks for your comment!
