I almost sign up to play roller hockey I was just like f this! Stocked to ice skating been playing for 6 years! I would have such hard time with roller!
I’m an ice player watching this competitive roller hockey for the first time…are there no blue lines in all roller rinks? Offsides? Is checking legal? Do these fellas get paid? So Many Questions!
1. no blue lines. 2. checking is not technically legal, but in my experience, roller tournaments are called much more loosely than ice beer leagues, so you'll definitely see much more physical play. Typically roller guys are incredible at playing the body on defense without extending, so theres no technical call you can make. 3. i've tried to work out the finances on this as well - first, the winning pro team gets cash (like $15k) at each of the 3 major summer tournaments (Torhs, NARCh, State Wars). My guess is that the majority of pro players pay their own way and they are competing to keep a percentage of that cash. The top teams (3 or 4) have a benefactor/sponsor that pays the entry fee and then the players split the cash after the fee is recouped. Again, just a guess.
@@brannondesseyn16 I lived in MN my entire life and just moved to Florida where roller is a little more popular and just kind of got into roller stuff on RUclips. I know Schiavo plays semi pro ice hockey and it’s cool to see him playing roller. Just some curious observations I had, thanks for responding. I’m still perplexed by the lack of offsides.
@@andyangstman2817 The other guys covered your other questions well. The lack of offsides in roller creates a very different dynamic where the game becomes heavily possession-based. It is also 4-on-4 which only adds to the possession aspect.
IIHF rules it has offsides. If you want to see some extremely high-level play at the international level look up the IIHF Inline Tournaments. A few NHL players play in this tournament also.
I hate everything about the guys on Black Ice and their energy. They literally don't seem to have any team dynamic and love saying "Let's fuckin go!". I'm glad they lost.
Haha yeah All of them are skaters? They have no business being on the ice cuz they blow! Love hearing about players who play roller hockey and come off like they can play hockey !! Hahaha what a joke
What a game. I didn't watch in person but played in the youth divisions. Wow Max, John, and all the boys came together on this one what a game.
Yeah was a really good game!
Golden knights have really stepped up this past year. Good for them!
Definitely a good game to watch!
Mans said “fucking” about 1000 times
Still wasn't enough. Goodness how many times do you have to say it. We get it. LOL.
Was it not a high stick behind the net at 4:50 leading the goal? Tough to tell from our angle but the ref was right there. Looked close.
Great footy, thanks for posting. Siemer is still doggin it man, good to see

The one foot stops always crack me up.
