Evermore is my favourite TS album. I think Closure is really clever, the discordant intro sounds like a big machine breaking down (her first record company) as Taylor’s vocals and piano overpower and drown out the noise.

I completely agree about Matt's voice in coney island, it's just a bit too deep and rough that it makes it sound emotionless lol. ALSO EVERMORE IS MY FAVOURITE SONG YESSSS. I love how the piano gets more chaotic in the bridge because it sounds like a release of all of the anxiety throughout the song, but then it goes back to how it was and now it's "floors of a cabin creaking under my step" because now she's safe and warm and has stability after all that turmoil. genuinely a gorgeous gorgeous song

English is not my first language, so at first I didn't understand what she meant by gold rush. Instead, I understood the title name as a concept of being showered with gold and all that. I thought she was describing a kind of wave of heavenly things that were as beautiful as gold. Because that's how I would describe the song. Every time I hear it I feel catapulted into another dimension and see myself rising from the ground. I now understand what the gold rush was, but for me personally, the feeling of a gold rush is exactly what the song makes me feel. My favorite songs off of the Album are gold rush and cowboy like me.

Been loving your reactions to Taylor so far, I think The Tortured Poets Department would be right up your alley as it’s vulnerable like evermore and folklore, while also having a more interesting sound to it. But if you’re looking for something more left-field from evermore and folklore, I think Reputation or Midnights (specifically 3am edition) would be great to also explore Taylor’s pop sound but less like Shake It Off and more modern and engaging!!

Another stan of cowboy like me! I love evermore too, like, maybe 6th in rank? and folklore is 7th? And, no, that doesn't mean it's just mid, while yes, it's in the middle, both are great, amazing,perfect even but... I love the first albums more, rather than the recent works, so them being over Lover, Midnights, and TTPD (chrono) is alright for me. I can not explain my love for the first six, and while Debut is my last in rank, 11th, it doesn't mean I hate Debut.

Cowboy like me is my #2. After TTPD when I realised that it's about Matty i love it even more. My dream is to have a bluezy album like this song. Long story short is my #3, simply adore this ass-shaker.
I would say that we ranked the album almost the same. It took me a long time to come around to closure. I skipped it for so long and didn’t give it a chance. Now I understand it and I don’t mind the background drums or whatever it is. If there was an acoustic version of Closure I think I would probably actually like it a lot more.
