Is this really 3 years old already?! Still my absolute favorite version of this song. Gorgeous sound.
Honestly pretty much the best version. Since it's recorded with proper mics and probably better mixed as well it's way more enjoyable with headphones than any other version :)
And also no high pitched female voices, i like most sea shanties without it
Nothing beats Nathan
girls: he probably out there cheating
me and the boys in the gulags:
He is cheating, with the boat.
If he is doing this without me it’s over
Woman: He's probably thinking of other maidens
Me and the fellow seafarers:

I get goosebumps everytime. The 5 of you have supercompatible voices. Each time the full sound comes in with the drums in the back and all of you singing it hits like a punch on a boxingsack! You guys made my pandemic times a lot better! Keep it coming, can't wait for more like this!!!
Heard a snip of this song on a Twitter video. Went searching for it and ran across The Wellermen. As part Irish, and as a vocalist myself, this song makes me want to embrace my Irish heritage even more. Good work, gents!
that high-pitched variation at the end of the song 1:50 is absolutely brilliant! it adds so much more nuance to the song, hats off to you sirs, nicely done!
Are you guys going to be doing more? Youre voices are out of this world
I love that the absolute bottom end of that bass is being sung by the guy who looks 12.
I thought the same thing!
He's such a boss it's bloody unbelievable. I hopr he'll make a career in music. Should be easy for him.
I went to high school with him, dude's actually in college. What's funny is he had a super young voice until he was like 16 and it suddenly dropped to the core of the earth
this dude is the definition of "Drop D".... and yes, I mean it in both ways
@@julianefigge7456 If I get the chance to I'll definitely consider it haha
Прослушал около 100 версий. Вокал, ритм, тембр - всё восхитительно. Для меня однозначно это лучшее исполнение. Спасибо!
Мне тоже именно этот вариант больше всего понравился.
Alina Gingertail с вами поспорит😅.
@@НФЗ-с8н согласен, поёт здорово, и постановка отличная, труда вложила много, но согласитесь, песня то мужская.
Натан Эванс с вами поспорит) Даниэла и Сантьяно тоже
15% main guy voice
10% light guy
10% lighter guy
10% normal guy
55% that hoarse guy
The real question is which one is which?
@@jacksauce the real problem is no 25% concentrated power of will
@@jacksauce the one with the yeti hat is the low voice. He's a basso profondo
No its 100% awesome
@@Dorddis I see
I like how the dude that looks all of 12 has the deepest voice.
He’s 19 apparently?
19 is just 12+7
He looked a lot older in the original tiktok version, heh.
How do you know which voice is which lol

The official anthem of the next “pirates of the Caribbean movie”
I would love that sooo much!
I kept imagining capt Jack Sparrow when it says rum
Haha and they should get all these dudes and Nathan Evans and have them in a scene with Jack Sparrow singing this lol
What’s the point if they won’t give Johnny depp his job back. He’s the only jack sparrow
As long as they cast Johnny Depp 😊
Incredible! Sam's performance is absolutely captivating. The expressions, the actions, the singing... An absolute tour de force of performing arts right there! Bravo, ye salty dogs!
When I searched this up I couldn’t stop restarting every time so catchy
Same

Been blown away by this song and how well they performed. Please collaborate more guys, it’s a breathtaking performance
This absolutely stunning! Perfect. The sheer beauty of the harmonies can clear the stresses of any day. I am addicted, I listen many times a day!
The lead singer shows considerable acting talent. And so it is not only the singing that is a joy. Good job!
Is that meant to be hard he’s just making a few faces
@@phantom8699 also the gesticulation. He's actually very expressive, especially compared to the rest of them
He's channeling his inner Jack Sparrow occasionally!
Sam is absolutely great.
Check him out on Tik Tok: www.tiktok.com/@sampopemusic
Thanks guys. As someone who went to music conservatoire and has been performing at a professional standard for 30+ years I have to say this is the best thought out and performed version of The Wellerman I've hard. I think it's fantastic for Nathan that he's achieved all he has. I'd urge you guys to stick together and keep doing fresh stuff - you have a great future ahead of you if you want it and you're prepared to put the work in :)
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... MAKE MORE MUSICS.
I'm in love with the combination of voices. What a beautiful thing!
Love this rendition!! Thanks! ❤️🇨🇦 The harmony is amazing!
1:30 the smoothness hits exactly the right spot
This is the best thing my ears have ever heard. If they cound they would be crying in joy 😂
My heart swells listening to this with headphones
I can tell ill be revisiting this video often
Its a stolen song from the original guy tho.. actually so stupid. they even called themselves wellerman omg lol
@@tommyolsen2399 They said it's the Tik Tok version of it in the tital so they just remixed it. Its not stolen at all it's just a mix up
@@tommyolsen2399 It’s a 150 year old folk song without a known songwriter. Anyone can make their own version of it.
Ive listened to 5 versions of this song, and while tiktok isnt something i use, this (in my personal opinion) sounds the best for a actual shanty. Beat, timing , and vocals
That man's voice is lower than my will to live. What an amazing version of the song. 😮

There couldn't be a more perfect group for this song
Literally “The Longest Johns” has a cover of this song first and it’s good too...

Hey Wellerfolks 👋

My legs almost quitted working after attempting to do a 16/ 4 like sort of irish tap/ contemporary dance (I never lerned ,but I noticed people pulling their phones out) and singing along WITH A MASK FOR 1.5 HOURS!
I was as happy as a pig in a clover field, it's been so long since I was so exhaused, I could barely breathe, punched my legs to stop shaking ( also having an eating disorder and maybe 88 lbs at 40 and 5.1)
and desperatelay trying to go on .
This was the most happy and exhausted and letting it ALL OUT In........
I don't know how much time !😭 2 years at least?
Wellermen! Please make a Skyrim cover
It blows my mind how people have voices that are literally so low.
Amazing job, these harmonies are ON POINTTTTT!!
Every single person on this song needs to have people begging them to sing professionally. Sam, I gotta say I adore your obvious enthusiasm and the drama of your voice. I feel the theatre would love you if you've not done it.
@Steven Parker Was that a compliment to them or not? Sounds like a bit of a snub....which is unnecessary if so.
Why do i feel like the main guys past life was a pirate. He does the part so well XD

Got damn, y'all elevated from a tiktok trend to straight up just a whole youtube quintet
Yup this is gonna be on loop
I never thought I'd be so impressed by a grunt but that HUNGH that he does at like 0:49 is fantastic
I feel the same way to hear it cuz You jus feel like it needed that "like add a lil more girth but make it tasteful." Then when You hear it, You're like... "Poiiifect👌"

I've been a shanty fanatic for many years, I'm glad to see them finally kicking off outside of niche circles now.
The main singer is putting out some massive vibes, ngl.
This is both incredibly soothing and invigorating at the same time. What is this -wizardry-?
2 years later and I can't stop listening. I grew up on sea chanties and this just hits deep in my soul. 💖💕 If y'all ever tour, I'm there.
Maybe 2021 isn’t all that bad after all with this gem 😶💯
