All your stitching is so beautiful and I love how you can stitch on all different kinds of fabrics. Your youngest child is so thoughtful to make and bring you lunch. I also love how he names your projects. He is very unique with the names. Congratulations on your 1 year on FlossTube. Where does the time go. Thanks for showing us all your WIP's that you have done in 1 year. Happy Stitching.
I LOVE your Kringles...actually, I LOVE all...lol....but I especially like the fabric choice on this project. Love the one over one on Fairy Idyl. That is quite the promise to keep there young lady...lol... Thanks for the show. Always lovely seeing all the things and hearing all the plans.
Yay for 1 year! I have really enjoyed your videos and your stitching. Your Owl Forrest is beautiful and so unique! Hope to keep watching for years to come! ❤
Congratulations on the 1 year Flosstube 🎉 I enjoy a lot watching your videos and I hope you enjoy making them so you will continue making them 🥰 Thanks also for the WIP parade I always enjoy seeing your projects! They are all very beautiful and many of them quite special 😃 Looking forward to seeing you again 😍🧵🪡
I enjoyed your WIP Parade. Loved seeing all of your beautiful stitching. Loved seeing your start on Winston! Congratulations on your one year anniversary!🎉
Congratulations on one year of Flosstube! I for one have thoroughly enjoyed every episode. I’m so glad you are hosting @astitcher12daysofchristmas again!
Erica I am such a big admirer of your work. You are a true artist in so many ways. I believe if there were awards for Best of Needlework 2024 you would come in 1st Place ! 🏆 🥇🥇🥇
A wonderful first year of Floss Tube. Thanks for sharing all the projects you have worked on. I was stitching this afternoon with a friend who was working on Laura Perrin's Pumpkin House. Laura is a great designer and her pieces are so well put together. Now I'm headed over to instagram to sign up for Stitcher's 12 Days of Christmas!
Yes she has some fun designs for sure and I like how they stitch up rather quickly and challenge your brain to think differently as many of the stitches are layered etc. I’m excited for the advent! Thank you for following along :)
Congratulations!! I enjoy your videos so much and have learned a lot and tried some new things! Can't wait to see what you show us and share with use in the next year!!!!
What a wonderful year of all things stitchy goodness from you, Arica 😍 I love how you are always finding ways to build our community and connection. Beautiful WIPs!
All the beautiful WIPs! 💗. Happy anniversary! Until recently I had no idea there were so many themes for each month. I agree on "Stitching what you love," though. 🙂
Congrats on a year!!!! I really enjoy watching you showcase all of your gorgeous designs! That 🐸 pattern u finished is too cool! The second u showed it, of course i ran to etsy cuz, u know, enabling and i dont have enough to stitch 😜😂 everyone needs a good snarky stitch and it really sums up my life sometimes 😉🙃 Omg i love your 🎅 dimensions kit! Super colorful! Im the same way i cant do stitch blocks either, my brain just wont let me park or not try to find symbols to continue the color- i guess im more of a cross country, or typewriter method stitcher lol Happy stitching arica! Gorgeous work! 🐈⬛🪡❤️
Congratulations on your milestone! It's been a very full year because you've shared so much content--regular flosstubes, Flosstubeversity (?), SALs, cabin stitching with Samantha, etc! We've been very spoiled and I'm not complaining a bit. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful works, your knowledge, and your expertise. BTW, I just watched the first flosstube from Cross Stitch Kim. I know you like to support the Canadian cross stitch community so you might want to check her out.
Congratulations on your first year! I have been educated, entertained and throughly inspired. Your work is stunning! Have you thought about a flat fold for your reindeer? You could either hang them up or stand them up on a sideboard.
Wow, love your progress on the Peacock! the corner square is just beautiful. I've taken a very short break from my PT (have almost completed two pages, yay!) to work on my Chatelaine, and I realised I had learned a couple of things from working on the Peacock. Firstly, that stitching all those pears and leaves and so on has helped me to "stitch mindfully"...by which I mean that I have had to go slow, concentrate on the one small area at a time, and just embrace the process. The amount of fractional stitches has helped with my work on the Chatelaine, and I'm now finding that I read the pattern more carefully, and I count a lot better too. I absolutely love both of them (the Chat is the Marie Antoinette Caleidoscope) and while I'm missing my Miras, I'm enjoying pushing myself a bit. I would also like to pass on some stitchy wisdom that my stitchy friend and I go by....that we do this because it's a pleasure, not a chore, and you don't have to work on something if you're not feeling it! Thank you for the video - have a great day :) xxx
I couldn’t agree more! There’s definitely a different process to a TW and a Chat, but worth experiencing if you want to really get into the process of stitching :)
Thanks so much for your shoutout and kind words for Lilly of the Woods! I am really so happy with how she turned out! You have SO many excellent projects and I love watching your channel and progress on them! Congrats on 1 year and happy stitching for many more!
I totally agree with you regarding Owl Forest Embroidery floss. I stitched one (Raspberry Summer) trying to do my own DMC variegated conversion and HATED how it turned out lol! (I did finish it and gift it to someone who loved it so it worked out). I recently completed Moon Deer using their brand of floss, with 2 other patterns of theirs waiting to start with their thread. No regrets. They usually have 20% off sales that help subsidize the painful shipping cost.
Oh I’ve never seen a sale - that’s great news! I know for me in Canada it’s the duty and import fees, last time we placed a large order between 4 stitchers and our duty was 70%!!! But still worth it 🙃
I have just bought from a destash the Peacock Tapestry by Teresa Wentzler. not sure when i will start it but not daunted by the "specialist stiches" which to me is normal embroidery stitches. i am an embroiderer first and cross stitch is are lovely plain stitch that you can do beautiful things with
I just bought lily of the woods, too. I saw it on the runner stitchers channel, as well. I LOVE this one. I already started 9 Mira’s though. Can I do 1 more?? I loved your WIP parade.
I stitched this year's ago, I put it down for a few years all I had left to do is that part in the back of her. I finally picked it up to finish her, my finger touched the sued and it crumbled in small pieces, I took the suede off, and found a overdyed floss and used that for the fringe.
@@FibersandFlossCanada No I did not wash it, I had it stored in a safe place. Took it out started to work on it, touched the suede with my pinky and it crumbled
@@FibersandFlossCanada I think I saw a comment on SharkyStitcher's most recent flosstube where the commenter said their suede disintegrated, too. :-(. I was not happy to read that one.
Unfortunately Owl Forest don't post everywhere. I tried to buy the kit for a couple of projects but they don't ship to Australia. Wonderful stitching. Wish my family would make me lunch 😂.
I really enjoyed seeing your review. I wonder - do you consider where you will place each FO when choosing something to stitch or do you just stitch what you want and figure out what to do with it when you are finished?
Oh I stitch what I LOVE and consider placement ltr. Some of my stitches I know I will never hang on my wall. One instagrammer put all the beautifully stitched pieces in her girlie closet and I love that idea for piece that don’t fit with the decor…
Welcome! I’m happy to hear you are enjoying the episodes :) If you are in Canada I would order the book from Traditional Stitches. In the States many stores sell the book, most common being 123 stitch and they are just arriving in shops now :)
100 Owls is one of my WIPS but I didn't buy the kit. Just the chart. I changed all the floss to Weeks. I don't have any pink or blue in mine. My chart looks a little different from yours as to the colors of the corner owls. Mine show as brown. I wonder if they changed it. I've had mine quite some time.
Oh really?? This is super interesting to me as my GF and I have the same one and we are both like, what? Pink and blue??? I’d love to see a pic of your chart if you are comfortable with that? Or knowing what brown they suggest in place of that pink and blue… if you could, would you email me at fibersandfloss@gmail.com
Your design looks great so far! I am not on Instagram so I can’t follow you. Is there another way? You do a great job on your videos and your projects!
Many congratulations on your flosstube anniversary! Yours was among the first channels I saw when I (re) started stitching in August. I’m about to start my first Mirabilia which will be Royal Games I. When you backstitched the edges of the card did you do single stitches or cover several squares of the pattern in one go with a longer line? I can’t decide which would be best. I look forward to seeing your work in the coming year.
Thank you! Right, I had the same dilemma and I did it both ways but decided the 1 stitch at a time looked better than longer stitches. I put it on a 17x17 qsnap and did the border in one go with the fabric quite taut. Good luck!
Hi there I want to know where you get your fabrics & patterns I got mine at 123stitch USA but the exchange is costing so much I am on Vancouver Island BC. Thanks
I still order out of the states, mainly. Recently I’ve placed a couple order through traditional stitches as they carrier some of the nice fabrics etc but the cost is more and it takes a lot longer for them to package/ship your order so it’s 50/50…
This is a great question! I have wondered this as well. What I do know is that Quaker samplers usually feature a slender Roman alphabet with no V. There’s usually a meandering vine border and the pattern itself is usually different from right to left (no mirrored images). The frequently picture florals, bee skips and birds. They were typically stitched in cotton and not silk.
Thank you so much for bringing Canada Chats to everyone’s attention….i love the logo you made. Someone finished beading a Nora reindeer at Stitch North. We missed you…I hope to meet you in person another time. 🦉🧵🍂🍁
You are welcome! Unfortunately I have company today but I am hoping to join in on the next one :) I hope you guys have a good turnout today! I’m sad to have missed you too, your pics look like it was a lot of fun 🤩 I’m sure we will meet soon :)
Wonderful and enjoyable flosstube! I always love to see what you are stitching on!
So cozy to watch you talk about all your WIPs while stitching at the tail end of a snowstorm in cold Colorado. Thanks for sharing, as always. ❤
Love your finishes and your progress on your wips. Happy stitching!
Thank you for a year of wonderful stitching ☺
Congratulations on one year Arica. You have such beautiful work. I can't wait to see them progress and your new starts in 2025.
