Without fail, mine are always much more difficult or totally impossible to do without breaking something. My entire paddlewheel unit refuses to come out despite my having unscrewed the white ring and tried pulling really hard. It rorates, making a squeaking noise - the rubber O ring I suppose, but I fear a lot of damage if I push my luck. I've squitred watery dish soap on it as its predecessor got dunked in petrol to clean the Bitumen off it and overnight it vanished, broken down by the petrol.
I would have suggested a bit of WD40... Sorry to hear that... The petrol would have desolved the rubber seal alright I'm sure... The part number is on on the post here for a new one if you need it... Did you get it sorted?
No sorry Danny... Never had an issue with the O-rings. Might be worth asking does anyone have a plug that fits. I know we have one onboard. I'd imagine the O-rings are the same size. It would be one worth asking around. We were lucky the boat was out when we out of the water when we did it. But we have done a quick exchange while on the water in the past.... 😳

I bought some with a 1" diameter and 1/8" cross section. 10 for £2.50 on eBay for anyone else wondering
