How a French Oyster Company Harvests 100 Tons Per Year - Vendors
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 апр 2022
- On Ile de Ré, an island off the west of France, expert fishermen use massive parks to produce around 100 to 110 tons of oysters per year. This region of the country specializes in well-iodized oysters that aren’t too fleshy that are used at top local restaurants like Atalante.

7:16 Seeing him so happy and cheerful to give the filming crew to try the fruit of his labor is truly heartwarming
You can notice he got a lot of passion for his work. I always enjoy seeing that in people.
I can't speak or understand the French language but I do understand this man's passion for what he does. I love the content on this channel. *BRAVO Eater!* Well done. 👏👏
there are subtitles tho lol
Imagine finding a pouch of oysters from a farm one day. Those oysters will be so big
You can see why oysters cost a premium and when you see all this work it seems very fair
I remember washing oysters at a steak restaurant and how freezing we had to keep the water... this guy is out there loving it. that takes a special kind of energy. Very inspiring
I respect people that work this hard in shabby conditions. Respect
I just tried my first oysters this year and loved them! These look absolutely delicious.
Fantastic content as always@
I love oysters, great timing!
Awesome show
So much effort goes to growing them, kudos for the team!
This guy never has to go far for a lunch break...
I had a friend who was a sushi chef. Able to eat fresh oysters almost everyday for 2-3 years. He sick of them now. Lol. I feel I could eat them everyday, until I cant
Im proud of them i know where they work as i live there too.. its a beauty

Love Eater! Butttt we need more Prime Time!
When I was a kid, I could not understand for the life of me why you would want to eat some kind of salty snot from the sea. 20 years later and I cant eat enough oysters...
I’ll order 5 dozen. Thanks!
They look tasted!!
niceee
AWESOME GAME PLAYING
IDK But WOW♥️💙🇵🇼
Translation is intermittent. Whole sections of what he says are not translated. Many times mid though
No wonder oysters are expensive!
Lovely upload! The french without question have created some of the best dishes hands down and I am so thankful for their culinary skills.
Now the discussion of where food is harvested is different. I do think it's cute that they actually believe their oysters to be superior (and they are ummmm, great foie gras) but fail to admit that Canada's eastern shores are both best in flavour and size. It's all due to the temperature folks! But again, we love France!
Thanks for your nice video. Does this guy has a website for his company? How to reach out to him please for business reasons. Cheers.
cool
Dude!!!
Make a video on japanese crabs

I don't understand why but I kept getting a phantom smell of oysters while watching this.

They sell half of their Oyster stock around Christmas?
Are Oysters popular for Christmas in Europe?
Here in Australia it's Prawns, people go NUTS for prawns on Christmas. The price practically doubles in the 10 days lead up to and following Christmas.
Also, fun fact, I've never met an Aussie that calls Prawns 'Shrimp' or that drinks Fosters. Weird huh?
i don't know for whole Europe but for France Oysters are eaten for Xmas and New Year Eve

Lol waited for the oyster recall to upload?
I just hope they have enough cowbells
Have you ever eaten... Jersey oysters?
Yup…people eat these raw…🤷♂️
One time I ate 5 different types of oyster in quantities of 3 and I was very sick :(… now I eat them based on recommendation but I don’t mix.
white wine is good ⚰for Oyater.
I watch this channel a lot. I don’t understand how there are barely any episodes on restaurants in Chicago. Considering the world class culinary scene and scores of Michelin stars why such lack of filming in Chicago?
Too ghetto to get a filming crew thru there without getting shot or robbed probably lmao
Wow , just look at what the cavemen have accomplished , real work and determination.
Missing pouches? Yeah right. We all know where it went.
Why not hatch his own babies? I’m sure buying the hatchlings eats into his profits.

I want David to harvest my oyster. He's so hot. 😍😍😍😍
not a fan of raw oyster, it may taste good and oceanic, but oyster is the species that filter the water, it captures all of the bacteria and microbes in the water
Been eating oysters since i was a kid and never got sick eating them.
He's talking math, talking coeficients, talking environmental impact, talking sustainable aquaculture, talking yummy food, he's a co owner so he's rich also, he got his hair all nice and high and tight b/c he knew he was gonna be on camera! Oh David Flores' Pietro, my dream man!!! Smelling of the sea and of a hard days work, come into my arms and I shall cuddle you to smithereens!!!
French lost the food war
You'll find they belong to the British. Oh the horror.
Oyster is over rated, I'll take a clam or mussels any day. Same thing with lobster. I like crabs better.

Big burly fisherman doing manual labor and then being all smiley and speaking French? Yes please! I'll have 3 dozen!
hate that yall just used CC and not a voiceover dislike, unsub
Certain French foods like oysters and frogs I’ve found … disgustingly unappetising.
too bad for you
Good more for the rest of us. Btw oysters aren’t French. People have been eating raw oysters for over 2000 years, all over the world.
@@BoxStudioExecutive Exactly, everybody eats oysters.
Hot sauce, lemon, and a touch of horseradish on top of an oyster 🤌
that still leaves hundreds of delicious dishes
He needs to fix the problem with pouches "leaving" as he says. We don't need more plastic in the ocean.
They're not plastic... and I doubt that a few pouches being lost at sea every year is a major problem when tons of plastic are released into the ocean every minute by rogue countries and industries. Let's focus on what matters.
@@Aspett0 Agreed, and based on how he is setting them up and the work ethic he has I'm sure it's very minimal loss. My only issue was him dumping out the water inside the Oyster before eating it, that's a no no.
Those are metal pouches.
@@TanThighsYum Really? That's funny, in France, emptying what we call the "first water" (the one that's in the oyster when you first open it) is a must do. We do enjoy the water that's produced afterwords though, because it's sweeter and less salty.
I doubt they like when that happens either since they're losing product. It's probably impossible to fully prevent though.
Shellfish and pork are against God's rules in The Bible, but you will learn that soon enough, when you are left behind. Remember I told you, though.
And in the meantime while I'm on this earth I'll make sure to enjoy
nice oysters
