I'm all covered in goosebumps listening to your v well researched & analytical reasoning. A lot of ppl had/have those dreams & intentions. But putting it into action is a different ball game. So, kudos for setting your plans in emotion. Above all, it's obvious you & your wife are on the same wavelength. Difficulties arise when the other half refuses to return home because of health care, etc. Glad you're doing it in your prime, because once the chn enters sec sch, it's harder to transition & harder to even visit regularly. Plane fares are astronomical & ever rising! I don't know you personally, but from what I've learnt from your series, you aren't one to take hasty decisions. You'll do just fine!👌🏾 In fact, far better & will have so much to contribute towards the greater good of your community. Good luck & God bless 🤞🏾🙏🏾😇
Thank you always for your words of encouragement. I'm not going to sit here and paint it to the world that it's so easy to move to Ghana. As you said the plan started in 2008/9 and it is still in motion. Yes my wife has made it so easy for us. I'm still spending my time both in UK and Ghana but I can't wait until fully done. Thanks once again.
Compelling reasons for the move back home. We are all coming; there's no place like home. May your stay be prosperous and your legacy live for generations to come. Blessings to you and yours, my brother.
I agree with you 100% especially the mortgage part. People shouldn’t get us wrong, we are not saying mortgage is bad but that “ground” for at least 25 to 30 yrs😢 I had the chance to either build back home with my savings or buy a mortgage, chose to build back home, house is nearly at complete now. After the house I’m saving for a business and I’m moving back home very soon. Kuntu hwane n’akyi aa na 3k). I think I’ve had enough. Came to Europe(Italy for 4yrs and rest of the years in England) at the age of 16 and I’m now 35.
A mortgage is only good when it brings in rental income. Now the prices are even higher. Half of your problem in Ghana is already solved with you going to be rent free. Just find multiple sources of income and live within your means and you will be fine.
Mikey I know a exactly what you mean, I’m a Ghanaian living in the uk and be joining you as soon as I can with the move. I’ve subscribed to your channel because you’ve hit the nail on the head. I wish all the success. Let’s go!
How’s the air quality there? What are some good business ideas there? It must be very challenging when the local community may not have extra spending capital.
@@onedirection3510 The air quality in my opinion is not to the harmful side at all. But the further away you are from cities and built up areas, the cleaner it gets. Business ideas are limitless real estate (long or short stay rentals), agriculture, delivery, car dealerships, food and grocery shops, barber, hair saloon tourism and hospitality, fashion etc. The country is still developing at a fast pace so new residential areas are always popping up. And the capital required is normally not a lot as long as you are ready to put in the work. Though you can live a moderate lifestyle in Ghana, people still copy the spending culture from the west. Cars are more expensive in Ghana than UK but most expensive cars seen in Ghana are fully paid for and not on credit like in UK. But if you mean challenging for locals. Yeah it is but they always have ways to survive with their small spending capabilities, ever better than us the diasporas.
@@MickeyAgyei Thanks for the reply. Actually I meant challenging for the entrepreneur because I would have guessed (perhaps mistakenly) that locals don’t have money to pour into new businesses. I get the sense that’s not true from what you’re saying. How about getting business permits etc there? Most likely a little cash can go a long way lol. Mickey I really thought you would move to Belize! Maybe a dual residence Ghana/Belize? 😃
@@onedirection3510 I will always be visiting Belize. Maybe get a rental property over there if I'm blessed with money. But Ghana edges Belize a tiny bit when it comes to market size, security and the lack of natural disasters (ie hurricanes). At this moment, Ghana is a priority I'm afraid. When it comes to business permit, it's easy if you know who to talk to 😜
Yeah… Mickey thanks for that encouraging video and I think you are doing a brilliant job in exposing the balance of life in Europe and the opportunities available in Africa and for that matter in Ghana…. I encountered your video interview with Douglas (Family by Nature), who’s a very good friend of mine…. And I can say that I am very encouraged by you guys, your boldness and courage to relocate back to Africa and the eye opening ideas you are bringing to us (diasporians) who are willing to take similar ventures… God bless you and continue to share more of such videos❤❤….
I very much enjoyed this video Mickey. I think we as humans often forget how to balance our way of life with the way to live. Money over happiness is not a way to live. I wish you all the best in your decision! Ken
about travelling hours to get ghana food 😭😭i relate so much! just to buy ghanaian food ingredients, i have to travel hours and it’s very expensive in terms of travel and even the ingredients. i can’t wait to be back home.
Wow my brother , this is very gud don't allow people to talk you out off what your plan is . I am soo happy for you and your family just join your channel.
I have enjoyed this video and the stories which I can relate to, if you can allow me I will share it also I will like to meet you in UK or Ghana one day as am also on the journey of moving home thanks 🙏
Hello. I'm happy you found the video useful. Yes, I am happy for you to share. Yes we will meet when God permit. May He guide you in your journey back.
Very good points. Africa is the best place for Africans and the opportunities are limitless. It is our mindset as Africans that need changing. Like you, I appreciate the simpler things that money can't buy....you find that in Africa! Funny how I don't mind the untarred roads anymore 😀... In fact when I move back, I will avoid Accra as I want to be closer to nature.. Thank you for sharing and best wishes with the move. I hope to follow you soon.
Our mindset needs changing and very fast. A lot of things don't bother me anymore...well I grew up in those conditions so wouldn't be a big deal. Kumasi won't be bad for you then.
@@africanmindsetseries Ohh ok. Eastern is emerging really fast. A rail network from Eastern to Accra would have been amazing but that will make too much sense to the government lol.
@@MickeyAgyei Thank you for this video. Please do you know or have any idea about A TOWN name KUBEASE on ACCRA-KUMASI Highway? We want to build our dream house overthere! We are also planning to get back home.
Congratulations Mickey. Well done on your return to Ghana. I found myself nodding in agreement with most of your reasons for returning home to Ghana. I'll be keenly watching your journey and I wish you the very best. I'll be in Akosombo very soon for similar reasons as yourself. I hope we'll catch up when I get there. Respect man
Thanks very much. I'm not finally back home yet. My family are. I am now in the process of transitioning. But hopefully our paths cross in the near future.
Hi Mickey! You are doing an awesome job reping your country! Your children are adorable, speaking of children. When I visited Ghana I noticed that the babies didn't respond with giggles when I tried to play with them as they do in the west. Why did they seem so serious?
Thanks for the feedback. With the kids, parents goofing around with their kids was seen as western. It wasn't what our parents did. But things are changing now. The new generation parents play with around with their kids now.
Making alot of sense ..I don't think is that bad especially outside Accra . Kumasi is easy living and very low on budget. Uk is overhyped and people only think about money forgetting their mental and social health
