@klay5720 My guess is that when you are inside of the zone you are clicking the "New Zone" vs. the "New Shading Surface Group". There are three separate tools for "New Zone", "New Shading Group", and "New Interior Partition Group". A new zone has to be a top level object (not inside of another zone), a new interior partition group has to be inside of a zone, and a shading group can be a top level object or inside of a zone.
I wonder to know if we can make measurements for Air Drybulb temperature and relative humidity in specific points inside a singular zone so that later to relate those readings with illuminance map
@ee0u6170 You can set shortcuts in SketchUp through Window/Preferences/Shortcuts. The shortcut to edit a group is the "edit/Item/Edit/Group" option. It is a little odd, but to see and set this particular object, you have to have a group selected when you open the shortcuts dialog.
@Svartdoden Do you mean the edges still exist but the surface has been deleted? In that case you can re-draw/trace any of the edges, and the surface will be re-created. Of course to apply textures, you have to be working outside of an OpenStudio Zone
Hello, i want to draw in sketchup a house with 2 floors. I draw the plan and then with "create spaces from a diagram" raise one floor. Then make the pan of the 1st floor and when i try do "pull up the walls" with the same comand i can't do it. How can i do this?
Thanks for the helpful tutorial. Now how I can use the energyplus plug-in after I made the model of the building using Sketchup and OpenStudio? Thanks for your help.
which version of energyplus software are you using? I am also having problem whick klay5720 mentioned. " zone should be added at the top level of a sketchup model". I have read your reply as well but still I am getting the same error message. Can you kindly explain a bit more and in detail about it?
Yeah dude i get " zone should be added at the top level of a sketchup model" as well when trying to add New Energyplus Shading Group inside of a zone...
Ok think i figured it out, just add a new shading group (outside of the zone so you dont get the error message) then in the Outliner pop up box you can drag it into the zone you want it in so its a sub-category of that zone.
when i try to introduce a shading surface inside a zone it gives an error which says that zone should be added at the top level of a sketchup model. kindly comment as i am not being able to add a shading device.
