지난 여름 ‘Why Don’t You Know’를 통해 솔로 아티스트로 성공적인 시작을 알린 청하가 두 번째 미니앨범 'Offset'으로 돌아왔다.

2. Roller Coaster
블랙아이드필승이 결성 이래 처음으로 프로듀싱 한 여성 솔로 곡이다. 컨템포러리 R&B 장르의 황금기인 90년대 특유의 바이브와 현대적으로 재해석된 투스텝 리듬을 조화롭게 재단하여 청하를 위한 새로운 트랙이 만들어졌다. 누군가와 사랑에 빠졌을 때 너무나 달콤하지만 가끔은 아찔하고 위험한 기분을 느끼는 현재 상황을 롤러코스터에 비유하여 표현하였다. 이 곡은 데모에서부터 앨범을 위해 마스터로 프레싱 되기까지 총 6개월이란 시간이 걸렸는데 그만큼 곡 안에서 표현되는 감정, 가사, 멜로디, 편곡 등 이 모든 것들이 세세하게 다듬어지고 재배치되어 완벽하게 완성되었다. 청량하게 울려 퍼지는 인트로에서부터 마지막 청하의 매력적인 애드리브 섹션까지 놓칠 수 없는 짜릿한 곡이다.

i'm currently doing a marathon of all her MVs and this was the last and wow. It's so insane and so cool how she stuck to her amazing sound. This song is still so beautiful, still makes me feel like her and her team put their all into it. She always talks about her production team with so much love and I understand why, she's always been a star and they helped the world see her brilliance. I love her so much.

She was so immersed into the dancing with a spotlight and disco lights on her that I was stunned and smile like an idiot! Truly unforgettable moments! This is seriously the best song I've heard since the beginning of 2018. I think that if this played on US radio, it would get so popular, and I know Chungha would sound just as amazing singing this in English.
Note: I only mentioned her doing Roller Coaster in English because she's from Texas and it'd be nice if there was some Asian representation on the airwaves. It's not like US recognition he only indicator of success, but she's pretty much from there, so it'd be cool for her to release it there too.

This song is so fun and the music video's so cute. Chung Ha's voice is lovely and the dance coreography's incredible. The energy's amazing and i love that Chung Ha sing's more in English now the language fits her perfectly.
