Esperance - Western Australia

- CORRECTION: The museum is at 6 James St, Esperance and the Mini Railway is on Taylor Street. (Not sure how I managed to quote the wrong addresses for these.)
Esperance is a little over 700 kilometres from the state capital Perth and is quite isolated.
It is the most important town in south east W.A. and there is nothing to match it for 400 kilometres north until you reach Kalgoorlie or for almost 460 kilometres to the west where you reach Katanning.
It’s importance to the area it is situated in cannot be overstated.
In addition to that, the area around the town has some of the most spectacular beaches you will ever see. People rave about Cable Beach in Broome, but is does not compare to the beaches between Esperance and Orleans Bay.
CORRECTION: Skylab actually fell to Earth in 1979, not in 1980.

That was an excellent vid of my old hometown of fifty yrs ago thankyou so much
Totally agree with you that the Esperance beaches are just superb and better than most of the other popular WA coastal tourist hot spots albeit that the water is pretty darned cold! And the area is still relatively uncrowded if you choose your visit times.
Thank you for the extended look at such a beautiful area!
Really well researched, thanks for your work on this episode.
Brings back memories
One of your best videos! Visited in 1987 when my family was young and loved the place. MIght end up retiring there later this year.
Cheers Cobba cool lill docco it's me home town best beaches in the world love that place... .....
Very beautiful
Nice town, apart from the cold ocean water at its beaches.
You have to swim at just the right time of year :)
Thanks! I've been putting off an Esperance trip for years. You've just nailed it for me. JT from Kalamunda
The trip series for this will be out soon too. It shows the route we took and places to see along the way.
Close. Skylab was July 79. NASA still have an outstanding littering fine. I think that may have been $400. Beautiful part of WA. Keen to explore more. Thanks for uploading.
Whoops, I wonder how I got that wrong? Thanks for the correction.
The museum and mini rail are not on Windich street, the museum is on James street and the mini rail on Taylor street.
Thanks for the correction, not sure how I managed to screw up the addresses. I have put the correct info in the description.

Great place Esperance. A couple of years ago the beaches were listed as one of the best in the world. Mind you I would never get in it. To many sharks
Supposed to be a few down there but we have never actually seen one.
I have used my kayak around Esperance for years and have only seen one.
@@chrisstevens463 for me thats one to many....lol
