The Dutch IGN bank uses Zero-Knowledge Range Proof (ZKRP) solution. ING’s new solution adds the ‘Range’ factor to this by allowing users to prove they have a secret number(eg : your salary) that lies in a known range. For example, a mortgage applicant could prove that their salary sits within a certain range, without revealing the exact figure.
PS i thought public and private keys did this already.i.e. I can do a small transaction in my secure account and show you I had access to that account.. pretty simple stuff..
I'm just tired of same explanation all over RUclips. Fkn hell I get it but what's the cryptography behind this? How does the algo knows about an identity without revealing the identity?
There are various ZK systems, but one way that is fairly understandable relies on cryptographic commitments. The prover makes a commitment based on a function of its secret knowledge, and the verifier can then open a certain number of the commitments and check that they are consistent with the secret knowledge really having the properties it is supposed to have. However, learning the value of that number of commitments doesn't reveal the secret knowledge. The verifier can repeat the verification to reduce the probability that the prover was just lucky to some acceptable negligible value. Take a look at crypto.stanford.edu/cs355/18sp/lec3.pdf for an example
Should we be concerned that people could hide any or all of their transactions and avoid public scrutiny?? I think what we are allowed to get secure and what we are not is more the issue..Ok fine. we now have a secure way of doing things, but honestly lots of things should stay public..i.e. open source and accountable.. to me it seem we should have a few different systems with different security regulations.. we should only be allowed to secure things that society deem required.. thoughts??
FYI - your audio sync is out by about 100-150ms (behind) your video. In my limited experience this is can be changed at the point of recording by editing the delay. Alternatively you can change this in post-production. I'm using Avidmux via PortableApps as it is free and easy.
But what is the catch though to prove that you have the income for the loan? Do you need an oracle, etc?

What an aMAZEing video!

which crypto are ZK proof ? thanks !
