    Thank you for posting this. Born and raised in New England, I have seen sea foam over 1A before, but in 56 years, I don't recall this kind of flooding!

      I've been in NH for 22 years and I have also never seen anything like this before. There was so much water everywhere.

    Thanks so much for your coverage- living in Exeter and surfing in Rye- I had NO IDEA that Rye got so badly hammered!

    Very informative. We drive that coast most weekends. We are local, about 10 miles inland from here. I've never seen anything like this since I first came here in 1987.

    MARYLANDER here! I love to visit the Eastern Shore! Assateague Island State Seashore and National Park! But I prefer to live in the Western part of our beautiful state! If the water ever gets this high , we would be in deep trouble! IMHO! 🌲🌄🌲⚓⛵🌅⚓

    On 2/11, the coast was still in disarray. Flooding and rocks strewn about. The cranes were fixing the rock jetty down by Hampton. Beautiful destruction.
    Edit: after inspecting the trash (we cleaned Salisbury Beach and Great Island Common in their entirety), we found mostly water bottles, bottle caps and foam insulation. Soooooo much insulation. So if anyone's out n about the coast, scoop it up if you see any, please and thank you ❤

    The sudden horrible waves in New England are they related to the eruptions in iceland?

    • @aboutwhat1930
      @aboutwhat1930 4 месяца назад +2

      No, these waves were previous days to the eruption. The prior snow, then rain with a warm day, the moon being near its periapsis, and winds at sea etc. Just a bunch of factors all aligned. That's about the highest the water has been in decades in Hampton (two towns south of Rye).

    Any footage of the islands affected also off the coast of portland? As a resident of Peaks Island

      I didn't make it up to that area. The roads were very challenging to drive on as you got close to the water. I spent most of the day in NH.

    makes me wonder how many years it takes for those rocks to get the sharp edges rounded off from the constant wave action.i've seen what a slow drip from a spouting leak does to concrete after decades.it quite amazing a drop of water can erode concrete.
