Hey Dallas! My dream, is to stay at Claridges! Looks wonderful and I’m glad they are taking care of you. FYI - it’s pronounced “shoe” not “show” bun. Also, make plans to go to Fortnum and Mason to see their Alice in Wonderland china. It is a delight!
While researching this afternoon tea, I had a look at the hotel as well- it really is beautiful- I’d sure love to stay there as well! Thank you for the correct way to pronounce choux bun! I do have plans for afternoon tea a Fortnum coming up in this series ✨ See you in Wanderland 💕
Welcome back to Wanderland! I was so pleased that I was able to try the sandwiches the next day, they were very nice indeed. Thank you for watching, I;l see you next Friday for another festive afternoon tea! ✨🎄💕
Hi Dallas, you look lovely for your afternoon tea! I might clarify with them before my sandwiches arrive: I would ask when they prepare the sandwiches do they first butter the breads before they assemble the sandwiches. I’m glad you had your conversation with Ramona and have the proper sandwiches for home 😊🥂 🎉
I must firstly say that your top looks gorgeous very festive 👍👍😁♥️ I must also say Claridges looks the best festive afternoon Tea in London 👍👍😁 look forward to your next festive Tea 👍👍😁♥️♥️
I don't want to see, or hear anything Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving! And they are starting earlier, and earlier every year here. I thought that your original instructions were VERY clear. How they cold make that kind mistake is beyond me. Well, off to a rough start but it all worked out in the end for you! That pudding did look delightful! 😰
Welcome back to Wanderland! I agree, Christmas comes earlier each year it seems! I’m definitely looking forward to my turkey this coming week. Thank you for watching, see you next Friday✨
My guess with your no butter situation is that most kitchens have done prepping for the sandwiches ahead and that this may be the reason that you do not receive the called out bread and or some of the garnishes. For some fillings, butter or an equivalent is a functional part of the sandwich which prevents the filling from soaking the bread. That said, it should only be a thin layer. From your experience I would say that unless you are vegan or have an allergy, your experience has a higher chance of being a complete flavor experience if the planned menu is served.
@@DallasInWanderland I love your channel and have enjoyed so many of your earlier afternoon tea vlogs - really looking forward to these new ones - greetings from Cork
Hi Dallas! I think when it comes to the preparation of the sandwiches without butter or spread, I would say could the sandwiches be prepared without the customary butter or margarine only but all of the remaining fillings. Or maybe ask if they are prepared with margarine or butter, and if so, could this step be eliminated. I hope this helps.
Oh yes… the great butter situation 😂 Honestly I’ve given up the butter/spread kerfuffle for 2024! Thank you for your suggestion though - I appreciate it. See you down the rabbit hole 💕🐰🇬🇧
My husband grew up in England. When you say don't butter the bread, it doesn't mean what it does in the United States. It means don't add anything extra, which is what they did. The word butter actually takes on a verb form in English in that context. We as Americans have to realize British English has subtle difference.
Cindy thank you so much for your response! This makes a lot of sense- although on the other hand I’ve found recently, if I ask ‘does Calridges butter their bread ? The general response is no we do not - then all is well. Thank you though for explaining this, I was at Fortnum’s yesterday and pre ordered what I thought was just no butter on my bread but was given plain chicken instead of coronation chicken. One of the mgrs came over and said what I requested was completely correct, just a misunderstanding in the kitchen ✨ 💕
Welcome to Wanderland! @@DallasInWanderland Dallas, thank you for replying! Well, you are a brave lady but your viewers are appreciating it so much. You should have more subscribers!! I’ll spread the word! I’m off to the Hard Rock Cafe, Piccadilly with my kids next week, and vow to book some London cream teas in 2024. Love your reviews. Merry Christmas! 🎄

@Dallas In Wanderland just request u buttered sandwiches and no alternative spreads you only want the fillings! It was wonderful especially the Christmas pudding. An expensive experience, I think this was your most expensive Afternoon Tea. ❤
Welcome to Wanderland! Claridges was definitely a lovely afternoon tea-yes, quite up there in price. I do know all of the Christmas teas have inflated prices this time of year… ah well it’s Christmas 🎄The sandwiches were lovely once we figured everything out. Yes, the Christmas pudding was a delicious end to a lovely afternoon! Thank you for watching and I’ll see you on Friday for another trip down the rabbit hole🎄✨💕
This is a great video and you are delightful. However if i were in Claridges eating i would not want to be included in someone else's video. Are they aware youre filming?
Welcome to Wanderland! This is an older video, and even back then I do speak with anyone around me and kindly inform them of my filming, and if they have any concerns. I value people's privacy and would never want to intrude. Generally, I request to be sat out of the way and with my back to the wall for this reason. I have gotten better in the course of my reviews in all aspects of this thankfully. Thank you very much for watching, and I hope to see you again soon down the rabbit hole.
Welcome to Wanderland! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I’m thrilled you enjoyed your trip down the rabbit hole! Make sure to check out my shorts they are rather fun😁 See you next Friday 🎄🎄✨💕
Welcome to Wanderland! When you have sandwiches without butter it means they have to be fresh and not prepared hours beforehand. I prefer the taste without butterThank you for watching, see you next Friday for another festive afternoon tea 🎄✨💕
"There is none so deaf as those who will not hear." I am afraid you have encountered those who simply penalized you for wanting what you want, not listening to what you said, either hearing what they wanted to hear or determined to shortchange you on the order for not wanting butter spread on the bread before filling properly. Hence the expression, "It puts me off my tea!"
I tell ya, I just don’t think it has to be so difficult 😁 We’ll see what happens on my tea I have planned this week! See you next Friday for the result!
Welcome to Wanderland! I like that - The Christmas Festive Season - perfect. I look forward to using this terminology later in the year. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you down the rabbit hole ✨💕🫖🐰🎄
I think there is a definite misunderstanding. I’d be speaking with another who understands. Believe me, the UK does know the concept of no butter or margarine. I’m disappointed for you. 😮
oh yes- so silly how something so simple can be so difficult to communicate 😁 Thank you for visiting Wanderland, see you next Friday down the rabbit hole ✨💕🎄
If i would pay over $120 for tea, I would take what they offer, without alterations. Brits are not creative and do not take well to changes. Sad to see you lose so much taste! In 1992 I asked in a London's fancy restaurant for iced tea and that was such a shock and ado, that I learned to go along with what they offer.
Welcome back to Wanderland! I’ve been experiencing these afternoon teas for awhile now and which the prices I am paying I feel I should be able to receive what I request. I feel with patience anything can be accomplished 😁 Thank you so much for commenting and I’m thrilled you found my channel- make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss any trips down the rabbit hole 💕🎄✨

I think you ordered correctly. If you just say ‘no butter’ that will be enough. Very rare will you find margarine on afternoon tea. 😊
Funny thing I did record an afternoon tea and requested no butter on my bread - so they used Flora instead…..so now I request not to have either 🤣🎄✨💕
