Maybe I’m just too ignorant, but what exactly is the point of Abyss Keeper? This deck only has a single copy of a Fish monster, right? Am I missing something about this card?
It's part of a 2 card combo with Mermail abysteus and Atlantean dragoons. Abyssteus discards goons, SS teus, cl2 add Mermail abysspike to hand, cl1 add deep sea diva to hand. NS Diva, SS neptabyss. Activate netabyss, send dragoons to add dragoons. Dragoons search neptabyss. Link summon into abyss keeper. Abyss keeper effect SS mermail abysspike to zone points to, discard neptabyss. Add lvl 3 water monster to hand with Mermail abysspike. SS atlantean dragoons from GY with neptabyss' second effect in graveyard. Overlay pike and goons for a Abyss dweller or Bahamut shark in TCG. That's the jist of why you would play Abyss Keeper in the extra deck.
@@Revedante sharing that the new Icebarrier synchro works well with this deck. Adding icebarrier synchros gives it swarming ability...plus brionac can pop the effects of the atlanteans as well...

I played a deck like this a long time ago.
It dose my heart good knowing thay folks are still playing it.
