American here. Most Americans don't know who Smokie was. That was a great choice of a song to record. I'm sure you could do a fantastic rendition of "If You Think You Know How to Love Me" which was a Smokie hit, and one of Pat Benatar's first hits

What a great song, most of us in the USA have never heard. The song was originally released by the Australian band New World, but became famous in 1976 when the British band Smokie recorded it for their album Midnight Café. The song reached number one in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Norway. Fantastic performance. Liked and shard to the world.

I was only listening to Roy 'Chubby' Brown's version Alice? Who the f**k is Alice CD the other day.
I know who Aliice is, but that's because I grew up in the 1960s. Be sure to listen to Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant." It took up an entire side of a 12" vinyl LP. It must be half an hour long. It's spoken word rather than music and lots of fun!
