The fact you mentioned Lisa and Aimer on No Game No Life opening just shows how underrated and underapreciated Konomi Suzuki is, she has done so many amazing anime openings that almost no one remembers like No Game No Life, Re:zero’s first opening, WataMote opening and Akashic records opening.

Re:Zero's last opening (or 2nd to last), is even better and also made by Konomi Suzuki - Realize.
And truly, she isn't any worse than LiSa, Aimer, Reona or Asca, or any other vocalist. She's amazing, it's just she's doing less openings to popular anime, i think.

Shes absolutely amazing. My favorite from all her songs is Realize(Rezero opening 3). Opening 1 is dope as well
You mention those songs but they are actually her more known songs (might throw in the 2nd so I'm a spider so what? op as well). "Love is my rail" from Ange Vierge and "Absolute Soul" from Absolute Duo are such great openings which are unknown because the animes are too unpoular. Well, to be fair, you really don't need to watch Ange Vierge. I enjoyed Absolute Duo tho.
A piece of advice to you Luke. Apart from twitch reactions, don't skip the openings, just cut it out on edition, by doing it you will be able to recognize the songs from animes you already watched

ye it annoys me and many i assume , that he skips them even tho he can just simply cut it out in editing and for example the fmab ops are FIRE and the endings as soo good (especially when your not binging.. which he doesnt usually for youtube)

One of the things that make it easier to do these quizzes is actually watching the anime openings as you watch the show. Hearing it only once for a reaction, unless you have god-tier music memory, is very unlikely to stick an association between the music and the memory. But when you watch the show week after week, and watch the opening each time, it becomes far more memorable.
When you're watching No Game No Life, or Jujuutsu Kaisen, or Steins;Gate, or whatever else, and just skip past the opening (and ending) for the stream, there's no strong association created, despite that they "should" be easy for you. Never mind that the vast majority of the openings you _do_ react to are from the last 5 years or so (due to everything being a popularity vote), which means you hardly have any recognition for any of the classics out there.
I don't know why so many people think I don't listen to the openings 😂

@@GOTGames There has always been a pretty heated debate in anime that you should NEVER skip the opening, EVERY episode, even if you've heard it before. I think it's totally up to preference, especially as a reactor, but it certainly does help with these quizzes.

I've watched several of your Patreon uploads, and you always comment about needing to skip the openings, and stop the video when the ending starts. I don't pay as much attention to the RUclips-only videos (I haven't been as interested in the shows you post there), but they seem to be similar to the Patreon offerings, from what I remember.
It's not a rumor I'm following; I'm just reacting to what you yourself do and say in your videos and streams.

@@GOTGames We mean, everytime your watch an episode, watch the opening. That way you'll remember it. If you watch a show that is 12 episodes, it means you'll hear the opening 12 times, which helps alot. ;) And don't worry about the quizz, when i started my journey in the anime world, i too had a really low score, especially when it says hard to impossible. 😂 You're not alone!

Banana Fish is incredible. I always reccomended it, it has that unique dark vibe some of the older series have (since the manga is from around the 1980-1990 while the anime is from 2018) but it also has the most heartwarming moments, just like some funny guffy moments. I really appreciated the way they portrayed the serious topics and how trauma is not easy to brush off, it's just a series that really stays with human

Yeah, for some reason most of the top openings videos only include the most popular shows. If you only go by watching the "top 100" you get a lot of repeats, usually almost exclusively action shounen series. It's always a pleasant surprise to see something outside of that genre get highlighted.

Absolutely! It also comes down to people almost always only recommending these popular ones and mainstream shows to react to. So often it feels like people recommending need to watch some more shows themselves and expand outside of their own box a bit.

Out of all the 'sad' anime out there, your lie in April, anohana, violet evergarden, given, steins gate, oshi no ko, EVEN SAD MOVIES LIKE WOLF CHILDREN, SILENT VOICE, MAQUIA, etc. Plastic memories, to your eternity, clannad- you name it. Out of all the shows known to be sad/heartbreaking, none of them stuck to me the way banana Fish did.
Don't get me wrong, I still found those shows sad, emotionally heavy, heartbreaking for some, cried for some, maybe even bawled out for shows like dororo. But I still took the message underneath the story with me and moved on with my life, normally, casually. BUT BANANA FISH?? THAT HAD ME UNIRONICALLY SPIRAL INTO A DEPRESSIVE PHYLOSOPHICAL EXISTENTIALISM CRISIS STATE FOR MONTHS, and ever since I watched it in 2018, it still hurts like I watched it yesterday. Banana Fish is the anime that got me into the rabbit hole of underrated animes, my friend suggested it to me and now here i am suggesting it to everyone. Its a great anime and i'll love to see your reactions
Banana Fish is a fantastic anime, one of my personal favourites.
I must warn that there are a few heavy themes throughout the series and it's definitely a heavy hitter to the feels but it's incredible.
P.S you should at least react to the opening and endings for it

Literally all of them are super popular openings most anime fans would know, if I were to assign a difficulty to that video it would be easy level difficulty lmao. Not slighting him though, he's only been watching anime for one year and he watches all the stuff like once and only for youtube so it makes sense he would forget. Regardless, if you're a regular weeb who's been watching for a decent amount of time you should be able to get like, 98% of these openings.

don't feel too bad! some of these were either really obscure, or (in my opinion) sounded really generic... which isn't an insult, it's just a "this sounds like what a lot of anime music sounds like" observation.
honestly, I think the best "homework" you could do for these quizzes, is to start watching the openings and endings with the episodes as you watch the shows. like, even just muting the audio or cutting around it for the final youtube edit is fine, but it pays off to actually watch them. not only does it make the song mean more to you, because it links your feelings about the show to the music, but it also helps you remember which song goes with which anime. I especially recommend this for Vinland Saga, I feel like the music elevates that show so much.
anyway, I was able to guess: Your Lie in April, Banana Fish, Jujutsu Kaisen, Code Geass, Stein's Gate, Mob Psycho 100, The Promised Neverland, Kaguya-sama, Konosuba, (I did the exact same SAO or Demon Slayer toss up for No Game No Life, guessed SAO and got it wrong, don't worry about it), My Dressup Darling, MHA, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Saint Seiya (a bit of a freebie because the song says it in the lyrics, though it is hard to pick out), Kokkokku (but I only knew the title because I happened to have looked it up recently), JJBA, FMA 2003, Shield Hero, Durarara (Baccano was a really good guess though), Yu Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Mirai Nikki,
so my score was 21/50 but like... I legit have never seen some of these shows before. some I'm even surprised I was able to guess, because of how random it is that I was able to pull the answer out of my brain. probably the weirdest one I didn't get was Kill la Kill... it sounded familiar, and I've watched the show, but tbh, the second OP is so much more recognizable to me than the first one.
a lot of these songs stick in our heads, from watching episodes weekly and listen to the OP every time.
If you listen to a song dozen of times, over a longer timespan, you will recognize them instantly for years to come.

Don't worry Luke, quizzes tend to get harder as they go on. I got almost 3 times more wrong guesses than last video and I watched all 100 anime but 2: Given and Yamada-kun to 999lv
And trust me, *I've seen people who have reacted to anime for 3 years do worse kk* 😁 You punch way above your belt. And again, do watch the openings when you watch anime episodes and you're gonna see you will still get some anime you watched wrong (R.I.P me getting JoJo wrong again 😭) but you will get a lot right 👍

you might have been off to a bad start but that first anime "Bocchi the Rock" is a must watch anime and i would love to see you react to that show, I think many of us would, It is such a creatively animated slice of life about social anxiety and playing in a band

But why do you skip openings from anime you watch ? they don't all necessarily spoil, and you are never obliged to analyze them. Just enjoy 'em like you might like a show credits
People tend to be afraid of spillers in the openings but unless you pause and analize every scene you won’t get spoilers.

I comment on every video on patreon for a openings/endings reaction. 1 day he will finally react to them. I also agree that it is a criminally underated anime.
This is incredible series. It's based on manga from around the 1980-1990 (so some really serious stuff happen you won't see in modern anime) and the studio mappa did amazing job with animating it. The music is also top notch. It's definitely one of my top animes, it really has heart wrenching emotions. I absolutely reccomended watching it on patron only (for the reason of topics it includes)
I got up to episode 6 I think what happened there just destroyed me and I just stopped watching.

Promised Neverland is definitely the show you are thinking of. It had an amazing first season, and then they decided to ruin all the goodwill and hype they had by adapting the entire remaining chapters of the manga in one season, when it should have had 3 or 4 seasons, cut the best arc entirely, and had a slideshow last episode just for that extra slap in the face. Honestly the first season is so good its worth watching and just pretending the second season doesn't exist like the rest of us. Also the second OP has no right to be so damn good when the season itself was so bad.

To be fair, if this was ACTUALLY a "top 100 anime openings" list and not just a "top 100 flavour of the week anime openings nobody will remember 5 years from now" list you wouldn't have heard most of them anyway.
this, Jujutsu OP 2 being on this list is a travesty
Not to be mean because you had a hard time but as a anime veteran I'd rate this a easy/normal difficulty and most anime fans would know a majority of this for exp i got 98/100 for this quiz just keep watching anime and you'll get 2 our lvl someday.
I wouldn't say easy difficulty, there are some nicher and older series on here, though ironically all the ones I got wrong were shounen normie stuff lol
@@KFP_Prophet ya I guess but I’d say maybe 7/8 ops in this quiz could be counted as hard but that out of 100 total lowers the difficulty a bit but to be far I like to do anime op quizzes so I’m good at them so I’m way above average so my difficulty ranking is based off that not anime newbie’s so in that case this quiz could be normal difficulty.
Funniest bit was 'Is there an anime called Baccano?' for Durarara, when the guys who made Durarara made Baccano and there's even a character cameo across the two shows. So close and yet so far.
last one that got cut was goblin slayer. my recommendation is just never skip openings as you watch an anime. Trust me 20 plus years of anime and someone plays any opening from a show ive watched and I know it immediately or shortly after humming it to myself for a second. Almost all of these were no issue minus a few i haven't seen in here thanks to that

The Saint Seiya opening theme Pegasus Fantasy appeared in the first half of the quiz and the second half of the quiz. I think that's a sign you should listen to more music from that series.
chill man, i've been watching anime for half my life and i didn't get all 50. this difficulty was hard-impossible and you've only been a fan for a year
Okay so for the Dragon Ball openings, make sure they are the Japanese openings because the English dub has different openings.
So it’d be Japanese openings for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Super.
The anime with the most openings is probably Detective Conan with 57 at the moment. This anime is airing since 1996 and is still going with close to 1100 episodes. I don't think any anime will top this. One Piece might be able to reach the number of episodes, dependent on how long each show continues, but one piece is like 30 openings behind.
There are some longer anime in terms of epiepisode number, but they are quite different then the most popular animes out there, I heard that in terms of episodes, Sazae-san would be the one that has the most (over 3000 if I remember correctly), but yeah, Conan is one of the biggest ^^ But looking at the plot progression in Conan I do not think One Piece is going to reach it. I recently finished watching all of Conan and it feels faar far from reaching the end. One Piece on the other hand is stated to be going into it's final saga in the manga at least. So my prediction is that there is a chance that One Piece will end before Conan ^^ But that is just my silly prediction ^^ I would love to see Luke react to One Piece and react to all of Detective Conan openings, that would be amazing ^^
@@tsubasahaneno Yeah, if I think a little bit longer, Pokémon definitly has more episodes than conan and I think Yu-Gi-Oh! as well.
I read an interview of Gosho Aoyama, where he stated that he knows how he wants to end Conan but can't really find a way to initiate the final. This man has too many ideas of what he wants to put in the story but not a single clue yet how to tie it together.
In terms of openings I'm pretty sure detective Conan has every other anime beat. 57 is a crazy number. I like the openings and a reaction to all of them would be cool, but it probably takes 2-4 videos.
@@shruikan1606 I personally hope it will go for a little bit longer since I love this series a lot but I think also that it might not entirely show that it is going to end soon. Eiichiro Oda also for the longest time was stating that he has the ending planned (although I feel like Oda knows what he wats to do a lot more from the start) but still, I love both of these series and will be kind of sad to see both of them end in similar time so I pray Conan stays a little longer, since we know One Piece is close to the end ^^
@@tsubasahaneno Conan is a year older than me. It came to germany in 2002 but I first saw it years later and only a couple episodes after school. I really like the show, but it aired at an unfavorable time of day. I tried catching up around 2016 but I only managed to get to episode 718 by april 2019.
@@shruikan1606 So we're close in age and neighbors at that! ^^ Conan is dwo years older then me, It never aired on televesion here in Poland but we never had many anime in tv here (and what is even worse, even if there was something airing it rarely was translated from japanese. This started to change only very recently and mostly on services like netflix but televison seems to still hate Japanese stuff a lot here). I remember I started Conan around 2015, but was sitting at like 200-300 episodes for years until last two years, when I got busy with my studies and thesis, so had less time to get invested in watching anything, and I just binged Conan. A lot more then I should actually because depite the episodic plot which was supposed to save me from watching episode after episode, I got more invested then I should and well. Now I have month and a half to finish the thesis and am up to date with Conan 😆 But throughout the years I always came back to watch a few episodes of this series here and there and it feels very weird to be caught up and will feel even weirder when it ends, because it always was kinda there, whenever I wanted to take a break from any plot heavy series, I could go back to Conan, have some fun in an episode or two during a meal, and then go do other stuff ^^" I guess I'll have to search for something different that will serve that purpose after the series ends 😆 But nothing will completely fill that void after the fun, detective show, going on forever and always being this series I can lean onto when I don't have mental strength to decide a new series to watch 😆
being completely honest, this is one it's on the easy side of difficulty. You have listened to most of this songs, but have heard all of them in only just a year. For most people, we internalize this songs after listened and watched anime for even decades.

I missed way more than I should have. Even got yyh wrong because they used the japanese version which threw me off. Also got Akame ga kill wrong even though I did watch it in full.
Inuyasha is more like 178 episodes I think because they continued the show over a decade after the anime series originally ended in 2004 and there is a sequel to the Inuyasha show now

This was a blast! I'm just glad i got more correct than Luke. That said, i think skipping the openings in your watchalong reactions makes it harder to memorize the songs, so i'd recommend checking them out in your own time after watching the episodes.

NGL mate: Even with 3 years of anime experience, I failed in 22 of the anime openings overall (including the previous video) so there is no shame in your performance given the fact that your channel covers a lot of content from anime, kpop and even country music.
It's fine mate, you'll get in a few years time! Just make sure you don't skip the openings as you're going through the series because it won't stick :) watch the animation as well and your brain will automatically connect songs to the scenes in the openings! I haven't heard the Black Butler opening in YEARS yet I could just see Sebastian jumping into the air and throwing his knives in my head the moment I heard first second of that song. I am looking forward to seeing your revenge in a few years!
Thisssss 100% only way anime openings stick is by watching the animation as well. Normally you can remember a song by the actions of the characters in the animation
I know you can't keep the full openings in for copyright, but at least listening to them during anime reactions would probably help for next time (even if you have to cut them out during editing). You would have easily gotten both JJK ones and the MIA one if you hadn't skipped them all the time. You don't have to watch them every time, but maybe like once per every couple recording sessions or something lol. Sometimes the opening visuals change midway while keeping the songs the same too, but hopefully we can let you know when that happens so you're aware, like with after-credit scenes.

I am once again begging for Yu Yu Hakusho. Its the one that you noticed a lot of cosplayers do, if you do it make sure to get both versions of the intros and outros cuz they have an english and japanese of each and theyre distinct from each other.
And like everything else its argued whether English or Japanese is the better of the two. If you ever watch the series, much like FMAB the Dub is fantastic.

I only got 5/50, but I've seen none of these anime. Granted, 1 of those was Saint Seiya that I only got because the first lyric was literally them singing "Saint Seiya". I got Paper Moon (Soul Eater) because an English cover was somewhat famous like 10 years ago. I got Fate because I'm a Fate fan. Jojo was obvious because I've seen so many Jojo OP reactions, and it's a banger. And for some reason I got Mirai Nikki because I remember the German 1-2-3 in the opening. Then only one I might have gotten but failed is Your Lie In April just because it's on every one of these greatest anime OPs lists.
To be fair for Inuyasha, they actually had to cut that OP and use the OST theme due to the fact Viz didn’t wanna let them use a couple of the songs that were used for OP and ED
Sadly this is actually the easier quiz than most out there. Like all of the openings in here are the most iconic ones and doesn't really include the obscure ones. so getting most of these wrong means a lot of homework till you can say you're a 'NOVICE' anime fan. Lols (Even I got a lot of them wrong).

You need to listen to more anime music from the 80s and 90s. Like Saint Seiya and the rest of the 90s Sailor Moon ending themes. Also Bubblegum Crisis, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, and Kimagure Orange Road.

I barely got the classics like Inuyasha, Saint Seiya, DB, Yuyu Hakusho, etc. Plus some more I remember, because in this second part of the video there wasn't really the best anime openings of all the time, most of them felt random when there's way better openings than the shown in the second half

I would guess the anime with the most Openings is Detective Conan with like 53, though if you added all the gundam anime openings it might get somewhat close.
Well, to your defense. There were a lot of older stuff in this list and somehow those animes never get it into the list for your reactions.
Sadly most animes that are recomenced to you are animes of the last something like 5 years. So its not your fault luke :D

Also think of this as a win either way, You got to see how much you still haven't heard and don't know! I felt like you were getting somewhat stale within the newer series, because sadly the recency bias is a thing , always was in the anime community, and always will be, so basically a lot of shows that did not come out in the last year or two (or was still coming out in those years) get very easily forgotten, people don't go back too much so it is always nice to see people to notice there is a lot more they just have to get a little more back!
The G.O.T. Games training arc is coming! I am all in for checking out a lot more of the top anime opening lists! I actually know a lot of openings just because I did watch a lot of these lists so I promise it does work!
My score also was a lot lower in this part, I got only 29, while on the last part it was 41 so yeah, it was harder.

I hope you react to The World God Only Knows openings and endings. They are all really great, especially the openings. The endings are good but the openings themselves are fantastic, especially the full versions. I figured I should comment about it again 😅
If you want I can make any list you want for any openings. I was actually thinking of making a CLAMP list for you, since they're a group who've made a lot of manga/anime and I don't think you've reacted to a single one of their openings. The closest you watched was Code Geass openings, but they only did the character designs.
This is like my 5th time recommending you check out Boruto openings (the series you thought was Naruto, it's actually the sequel to it).

A lot of the anime on the list I definitely wouldn't consider as 100 best anime openings. I also can't believe that neither the first part or second part included Sailor Moon.
the thing is if you are waiting for us to pick anime OP/ED to react to you will miss alot of good ones. The majority are pushing for their favorite OP/ED and it tends to be the more mainstream ones.
Im all up to see more "Top 100 op/ed" types of videos and probably top 5 recommended OP/ED not just the top 1 recommended

Luke, don’t be so disappointed. There are too many animes that cannot be seen in just one life. I have been watching anime for over 15 years or more, I have lost track of how many I have watched that I have forgotten the name of many of them and I don’t even think about getting to know all the opening.
I just remember the most relevant ones or those from the bands and singers I end up living.
Just keep on watching anime. I love that you could get into this wonderful world.
