1:00 Agnes Morehead really delivers with this speech in a way no other actress could. She's serious; you almost believe that they really are different entities apart from us humans.
Grew up watching "Bewitched".When I got older and started studying film, I was shocked to find that Agnes Moorhead was such a deep part of film history, acting for Orson Welles and giving astounding performances. Truly a marvel!
Actually its more a 1950s house. A 1960s house would have had big picture windows which were the fashion in 1960s houses. Pre-1960s houses still had the double hung windows like the Bewitched house has on its front.
@@tomwheeler2012 Perhaps a 1950's version of a Dutch Colonial. I wish they had included a breezeway (service porch) between the kitchen and the garage; That way the kitchen sink window could have looked into the (open ended) breezeway. Otherwise, that side window location could never have cleared the directly adjacent garage.
Such a great introductory episode of the main neighbors and the relationship between Samantha and mother, Endora. I loved this episode with learning about Mrs Kravitz neuroses. She was a marvelous actress in that role! 💗💗💗
Imagine Sam on one of those housewives shows, say Housewives of NJ. 😀 I love Endora's description of Sam and she are, free to do and go where they want to. Can one imagine the work the landscapers or stage hands had to do to get the landscape in while the sunlight was available? This was filmed at Warner Ranch.
Did Samantha and Endora start out in Major Nelson's house before visiting 1164 Morning Glory Circle? I supposed in-universe explanation is that Darrin rented Maj. Nelson's house before finding tis own place.
The odd thing I never got about Endora. Aside from the fact the two actresses looked nothing alike. They had no similar behavior traits, no similar mannerisms, not even any similar voice features. Did they ever show Serena's mother?
They did a rather amazing job colorizing this, BUT there is NO WAY that washer dryer was avocado in the early 60s. That is a 70s color all the way, along with harvest gold and burnt sienna. The originals in the show would have been white.
So what if Adam Stephens became a male witch? Even if this happened, he might become a polite, kind, rational, reasonable, grateful, helpful, and generous one even if he never takes the Lord's name in vain. Adam turns bad things into good things.
Very poetic speech by Endora about witches.
I love the concept that they live however and where ever without need of property kinda like a god like nomad.
Agnes Morehead was a talented classically trained actress. She gave Bewitched depth.

Shirley Mclane tried to deliver that beautiful speech in the Bewitched movie. It was absolutely horrible.
And her unspoken role in the Twilight Zone.
Imagine these two on House Hunters
😅😅😅
😅
I love that! ✌️
😂
And at eventuality at the end, thad house became a dream house for all of us kids watching this show growing up. Sammy looked so young!…
I always liked this one.
I definitely Loved Mrs. Kravitz. 😂
The most magical, supernatural, unbelievable thing about this today...is that a man could retire after only 32 years.
Go back to school.
Samantha was an incredible witch....
I love 1960s houses.

late 1970s houses, split level houses were all the rage.

Agnes Moorhead was a superb actress, perfect for this role, did alot with this role…she of won an emmy

That House Facide was just demoed last year along with many others used in TV/Movies! RIP Warner Brothers Ranch!
I know. I was so disappointed. Wish I had visited prior.
There really isnt much to see. Its just the shell of a house.
That's so sad. I always loved this house.
The word is facade, not facide. Otto Korrect?😉😅
@@JayYoung-ro3vu 🤣🤣 Thought I spelled that wrong!
The first season of Bewitched is so different in many ways... in style and tone than all of the later years.😮
Got to give it to Samantha, Darrin (and mortal life) was a pet project and act of true love.
No trees to block the view of that house but I like the addition of the window boxes and awnings.
I agree about the Edora actress! I think she was an actress with high theatrical education.
Endorra is a damn poet
Imagine only working for 32 years. 😂
add in probably 4 years in WW2
Elizabeth Montgomery and Agnes Moorehead what great in series
I like the house they were in at the beginning . I don’t remember seeing this episode before 😎😎😎
There ya go! Increase the price before you buy it! 😂

The Kravitz living room looks like the one from the Donna Reed show.
Oh wow, the living room was the house on Hazel the Baxter’s.
❤️ Abner Kravitz! Funny guy!
😁☕️Awesome Show❤
Agnes Moorehead was great in this role.

Endora's best quote ❤
Gladys Kravitz, the ultimate busybody!
Quite the different era. The witches would have had quite the time staying secret today.
Love ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅this
Seems risky if you're trying to maintain your cover.
Samantha's looks in the early episodes remind me of what the original 1959 Barbie looked like.
I'll take Endora's side on this one
The first house was Hazels house.
Love Screen Gems. The kitchen set from The Farmer's Daughter and the living room set from Hazel.
The odd thing I never got about Endora. Aside from the fact the two actresses looked nothing alike. They had no similar behavior traits, no similar mannerisms, not even any similar voice features. Did they ever show Serena's mother?
This was the home of the Baxter family, Hazel.
And Dr Bellows from I dream of Jeannie
😍💓❤🏠📺😙
Hit like!!⬆️👍⬆️👍
They recently demolished all the houses at Warner Ranch
Sam sended someone from future to the past who isdead in da past
Too bad there is not a 2024 reboot or remake
Absolutely not. It would be charmless and PC.

If the program had a few more seasons in the seventies, Adam's magical abilities would be explored
What was Endora saying? Sow’s ear? What is sow’s ear? 😐
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear used to mean that you cannot make something good out of something that is naturally bad
Endora is using part of the quote "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" (a pig).
Awnings? Seriously? Even by 1964 that was passe
karien
How are awnings passe, even now?
