I have a friend who is also very tall as is Massey and he plays the same way. I asked him about it once and he told me his height allows him to see the table from a higher elevation than shorter people and he can see exactly where he has to place the cue ball on the object ball instead of having to envision it as shorter players do. We played a couple of games and I used a milkcrate as a stand to get my height up to his. It didn't take long to figure out what he was doing and he was entirely correct. When playing from a taller position it was more akin to looking straight down on the table and you could see the lines better. The very size of a 6 x 12 snooker table negates this advantage so you have to sight on the cue. Having said that, never play a tall guy on a 4 x 8 8 ball table because he will kick your ass........lol
I watch the Earl match and I don’t know what it is but people seem to miss some easy shots from Ronnie. He’s a great player for sure and the best at snooker no doubt but he didn’t play well in his matches.
I would like to see all these American Pool players try out snooker for a change! We have smaller pockets, bigger tables, and loads of balls! We should make an invitational series with all the top pool players from the US!
@@savinggracechurch4112 Allison Fisher has a background in professional snooker and won the World Women's Snooker Championship seven times prior to taking up professional pool.

The much missed Sid Waddell. Son of a miner, went to Cambridge university and an absolutely bonkers commentator. That is why the likes of massey cannot win world championship of 9, 10 and 8balls against efren reyes or django bustamante or dennis orcollo and alex pagulayan. He is missing simple shot, cue ball control and simple kick.
A champion snooker player, having only played a couple of 9 ball games, doesn't even bother to learn the rules & beats Earl the Pearl Strickland. What a joke this game is. The guy he plays here has no idea where the cue ball is going & still somehow wins, shows how stupid this game is.
Europe are better pool players than the Americans, hands down, no contest! They made a bunch of snooker players play 9-Ball, and they did well. Minimal knowledge and experience with the game, while using a 10mm snooker cue. It wouldn't even be close if the Americans had to play snooker.
Your beginning assertion is a blanket statement that is filled with fallacies. Saying snooker players are the best cue-men in the world and are more apt to fluidly keep their skill regardless of the game type would be more accurate.
But would snooker players be able to play 3 cushion? Why do people keep comparing snooker to pool? It's like some odd reflex on RUclips videos, if it's a pool match someone usually starts talking about snooker.
I know that I am answering three years later but it is the first to three racks (or three frames in snooker terms) wins the set, so win 3-0, 3-1 or if it goes 3-2 in racks then you have to win by two clear racks and you would win the set. It was then the best of three sets, so the winner would win 2-0 or 2-1 in sets. Then each match winner(s) gained one point for their team.
Impossible to compete in professional level if your break is trash. I love to watch Ronnie play snooker but pool is about spins and cue ball control with various speeds etc so there might be a reason why not too many professional snooker cueist haven’t gone to far in pool. Apples and oranges
@@SamuL147 Ronnie plays with a snooker cue because frankly the game of billiards is beneath him. If he gave a shit he’d use a pool cue and get the same break power as the rest of the players.
