I don't really know why people are complaining about powercreep with him. If you look at his daze multipliers they are quite low (at the moment at least, could get changed), even lower than Qingyi's, and I believe the time it takes to stun is something to consider when comparing characters used for stunning. Even if he does offer potent damage boosting, like the aforementioned Qingyi, I think that's fair if he takes longer to stun as a result. Characters like Koleda and Lycaon will still continue to find use, and not just because they're permanent, but because they stun quickly and you may want to use them as well as limited stunners for Shiyu Defense and potential future content involving two teams.

I think the real problem is that we still have multiple niches not covered by other characters, where's a limited 5* support, and for three patchs in a row they are releasing characters focused on stunning (I'm looking at you Caesar). Obviously he won't be exactly the same thing, but the overlap in roles it's pretty clear and unnecessary at the stage of the game

If I were to guess, Lighter is meant to be used as primary defensive assist stunner to be used alongside Burnice and Caesar. In the team Burnice - Caesar - Lighter specifically. Revolving the combo; Caesar Defensive Assist, E, E, providing Lighter with Aegis, Lighter Defensive Assist, (Impact buff) N5, Moral Eruption, Perfect Dodge, (Triggers Caesars W engine, Dodge does not interrupt Morale Eruption), Finishing Blow, Swap out Burnice. Therefore, starting with Caesar's Battle Spirit (15% Damage taken debuff), Radiant Aegis attack buff (+C1 buff), Tusks of Fury, Uplift stacks (Fire cdmg increase), Fatigue stacks (Lighter weapon, fire cdmg increase), -15% Fire res, Fire res from Morale eruption all remain upon swapping back to Burnice. It ends up being a massive nuke from Burnice if Final hit from Lighter triggers stun Protopunk also applies if Burnice triggers defensive assist. The faster daze generation is core to this premium team as they can get their assists back quicker and it makes sense since they're all... premium Sons of Calydon units from similar patches.

I think the attacker thing is just secondary in case you don't want another sons of calyon unit with him. I'm pretty sure his main dps is gonna be Burnice because of the neergy thing in her kit. It's kinda like Jane's ability that says she wants an anomaly but really all you need is Seth. Seems to me like Faction based team making is Hoyos intention

For now he isn't better Lycaon at M0. His buffs do not equal the stun damage multiplier that Lycaon gives. Hopefully that M1 gets shoved into the base kit like how they shoved an entire soukakou into Caesar's kit.
The better question is: with your current teams, can you clear most if not all the content? Doesn't matter if he's better if you can get all the mission rewards without him anyway. That's just FOMO making you need to pull for him.
Better koala? Yes. Better Lycaon? It depend. Lycaon will still stun faster to Ice weak and Fire Res enemy than lighter. As jstern stated just base on this weakness and resistance system inthe game alone can make a character better than the other. Koleda sadly losé to lighter in every scenerio so she just become qiqi of ZZZ.

Well. I've been eyeing Lighter for quite a while. Saving up for him even before his kits leaked. Now that it's out, I couldn't care less if its bad or OP. I just need him. Period.
As someone that skipped Qingyi him being a stunner is a win for me, if his W-engine doesn't get nerfed then I'm gonna go for it since it has a better chance than M1 (which will probably be nerfed)
If he can fit onto an ellen team he could be pretty good there, since ellen's and soukaku's chain attacks take the better part of a year to finish, so actually getting time to attack the stunned target could be helpful. This was likely intended, especially if ellen rerun is happening in 1.4 as some people predicted. Dunno if he'll be better than lycaon though, but pretty sure im skipping. What could hypothetically be fun is to pair him with another stunner like qingyi so that they not only get stunned for a really long period, but during that long period they take additional damage.
what qingyi powercreep are u guys talking about? his m1 being "qingyi's entire kit" still requires pulling an entire character anyway, and even then, qingyi's M1 is miles better than lighter M1 bc of how versatile she is. as is, lighter rn seems weak compared to the line up banners we got (qingyi>caesar>burnice), i'm predicting they will buff him in the future.
I hope you'r right. It's be really messed up of them for the first limited male character to be the only not broken beyond belief character they release since the start of the game. Ellen, Zhuyuan and Jane are crazy dpses, Qingyi and Caesar are broken supports, Burnice and Yanagi are gonna be a crazy disorder team and then they do this to Lighter...

As someone who doesn't currently have a 5 star stunner this is great. I started during Qingye's banner and didn't get her with my pulls. Using Caesar as a stunner atm but this would give me an actual stunner that's not Anby. Was using Ben as a stunner for my 2nd team before Caesar... It was rough lol

Question as a f2p that already has a working fire team do you recommend pulling for more fire characters? I just started playing and I dunno if the endgame is insanely hard that you're pretty much required to have the current character in the banner to clear it. I dunno if you could just brute force it like in Genshin slap Xiangling on pretty much on any team and your good to go in here it's different you get fucked if you don't plan out your pulls.

Been waiting on Lighter cause i had 11 but if he wasn’t stun or defense i would’ve skipped so im glad he’s stun. That’ll leave 1 more fire unit to get for me and Miyabi is getting got after Lighter. I have no ice or support unit yet. Lets see where the game goes.
No Lighters M1 doesn't give him Qingyis whole kit because if we are talking about M1 than Qingyis M1 has defense shred to enemys. I don't think thats on his M1. Also it's still 20% more..
I’m really kinda pissed at them at this point. We have so many unfilled class/element combinations that still have no characters, and no 5 star limited supports still. Just endless Stunners and Anomolies powercreeping everything in existence. I don’t remember when I’ve last seen a gatcha this bad, especially right from launch, when people have such limited character building resources. I’m really curious about the Chinese response to this, there is no way it can just be ignored, it’s way too obvious and shady.

You are delusional if that's not a MASSIVE power creep.
As a male character enjoyer, I'm going for him. I have koleda but I literally don't care, I enjoy male characters in these games. Plus I have guaranteed so, no real reason not to get him. Luckily for me, it seems male characters might not be super common in this game? Gives me plenty time to save. so Qingyi ended up being the silver wolf of ZZZ instead of Kazuha, aging like milk when newer units have all her kits + more baked in. Guess buffing is just going to be the main perk for all new units then.
💀💀💀 definitely feel like a fool now. I assumed Lighter was going to be a Fire DPS and Qingyi would be our only limited stun character for the next half a year.
Not really. SW was already bumping heads with 4* unit in the same role. Outside of Pela, there was no one else as a better option in the debuffer role until JQ (unit that came out in the year and half after her own release). Even then, JQ doesn't exactly steal her kit if def shred is what you want. But the issue here is that Pela exists and she is way better for majority units that would want that. The only thing SW got over them all (that is yet to be powercrept) is removing the enemy's resistance to [x] element upon implant. Qingyi, on the other hand, already has a competition version later, and in 2 versions, she is made obsolete. For me, she is more like ZZZ's Luocha as such. You got her because Anby (Natasha) was your only stunner, you most likely didn't get standard ones (Bailu and Gepard), so you got her (Luocha) to save you from your current option. However, much like him, any sustain released past him is way better than him, with a more baked kit. It has gotten so bad to a point that he is now seen less than a certain 4*.
i mean if you were pulling her specifically for Zhu Yuan then she's still the best option you can have. At least until they release an Ether on-field stunner ig
If they make Miyabi still a Ice Anomaly character then Lighter can still kinda work as long as miyabi doesn't need the same element as her but need something like a stunner or another Anomaly Unit for her 2nd passive bonus But lets be fr tho freeze already extends the stun time enemies take with lighter and Miyabi(if she's anomaly) the enemies will likely take 4 freeze procs before their stun window disappears if they dont die to shatter

Normal 3, 4, and 5 Its his basic attack chain. He has n1, n2, n3, n4, and n5. So a basic attack chain of 5 attacks. But if you hold the attack button during n3, n4, or n5 it's no longer a Normal attack so it stops being n3 and becomes charge 3

The only light for us right now is Harumasa who's probably gonna be the same patch as Miyabi in 1.4, other than that, leaks show in the future : 7 females and 4 males (but that's including vague leaks who could be talking about what's coming months from now). Sadly the next faction that seems to be comming after section 6 are the idols, the faction that has three litte girls...

I skipped Qingyi and don't really care to pull her on a rerun, so a stunner is much more appealing to me than just another DPS.

If he can fit onto an ellen team he could be pretty good there, since ellen's and soukaku's chain attacks take the better part of a year to finish, so actually getting time to attack the stunned target could be helpful. This was likely intended, especially if ellen rerun is happening in 1.4 as some people predicted. Dunno if he'll be better than lycaon though, but pretty sure im skipping. What could hypothetically be fun is to pair him with another stunner like qingyi so that they not only get stunned for a really long period, but during that long period they take additional damage.

what qingyi powercreep are u guys talking about? his m1 being "qingyi's entire kit" still requires pulling an entire character anyway, and even then, qingyi's M1 is miles better than lighter M1 bc of how versatile she is. as is, lighter rn seems weak compared to the line up banners we got (qingyi>caesar>burnice), i'm predicting they will buff him in the future.

Ellen, Zhuyuan and Jane are crazy dpses, Qingyi and Caesar are broken supports, Burnice and Yanagi are gonna be a crazy disorder team and then they do this to Lighter...

That stun extension would be the same amount if not close amount of stun from that 10% stun resonium. Also, he is best pick with Fire teams and competes with lycaon for Ice teams. Don't feel so down. I have a feeling that the reason why he has both ice res down and fire res down is because Miyabi will be the first hybrid/dual element attacker/anomaly (she will have both fire and ice attacks built into her kit)

Question as a f2p that already has a working fire team do you recommend pulling for more fire characters? I just started playing and I dunno if the endgame is insanely hard that you're pretty much required to have the current character in the banner to clear it. I dunno if you could just brute force it like in Genshin slap Xiangling on pretty much on any team and your good to go in here it's different you get fucked if you don't plan out your pulls.

Been waiting on Lighter cause i had 11 but if he wasn’t stun or defense i would’ve skipped so im glad he’s stun. That’ll leave 1 more fire unit to get for me and Miyabi is getting got after Lighter. I have no ice or support unit yet. Lets see where the game goes.

I’m really kinda pissed at them at this point. We have so many unfilled class/element combinations that still have no characters, and no 5 star limited supports still. Just endless Stunners and Anomolies powercreeping everything in existence.
I don’t remember when I’ve last seen a gatcha this bad, especially right from launch, when people have such limited character building resources. I’m really curious about the Chinese response to this, there is no way it can just be ignored, it’s way too obvious and shady.
Although powercreep exists, the game can be played with any character, so there is nothing mandatory about getting one.

M1 Lighter now has 60% stun, 15 resist shred, 20% fire/ice dmg, AND 3 second extra stun duration? Based on his kit he presumably will take less field time too due to his quick swap mechanic. You are delusional if that's not a MASSIVE power creep.
As a male character enjoyer, I'm going for him. I have koleda but I literally don't care, I enjoy male characters in these games.

You can make a Lighter Burnice Ceasar Team comp. Each of them can contribute damage while on fielding Lighter.
He sounds like a best in slot for miyabi if he does ice damage buff too.
His M1 already got hotfixed in less than a day. You made the video too soon bruv. Should've at least waited for a week, just so the video stays somewhat relevant longer.
so Qingyi ended up being the silver wolf of ZZZ instead of Kazuha, aging like milk when newer units have all her kits + more baked in. Guess buffing is just going to be the main perk for all new units then.

Not really. SW was already bumping heads with 4* unit in the same role. Outside of Pela, there was no one else as a better option in the debuffer role until JQ (unit that came out in the year and half after her own release). Even then, JQ doesn't exactly steal her kit if def shred is what you want. But the issue here is that Pela exists and she is way better for majority units that would want that. The only thing SW got over them all (that is yet to be powercrept) is removing the enemy's resistance to [x] element upon implant.
Qingyi, on the other hand, already has a competition version later, and in 2 versions, she is made obsolete. For me, she is more like ZZZ's Luocha as such. You got her because Anby (Natasha) was your only stunner, you most likely didn't get standard ones (Bailu and Gepard), so you got her (Luocha) to save you from your current option. However, much like him, any sustain released past him is way better than him, with a more baked kit. It has gotten so bad to a point that he is now seen less than a certain 4*.
i mean if you were pulling her specifically for Zhu Yuan then she's still the best option you can have. At least until they release an Ether on-field stunner ig

Lighter can still kinda work as long as miyabi doesn't need the same element as her but need something like a stunner or another Anomaly Unit for her 2nd passive bonus
But lets be fr tho freeze already extends the stun time enemies take with lighter and Miyabi(if she's anomaly) the enemies will likely take 4 freeze procs before their stun window disappears if they dont die to shatter

Normal 3, 4, and 5
Its his basic attack chain. He has n1, n2, n3, n4, and n5. So a basic attack chain of 5 attacks. But if you hold the attack button during n3, n4, or n5 it's no longer a Normal attack so it stops being n3 and becomes charge 3
I feel like they made him a stun so they could say "Lighter got so few pulls our audience must not like male characters, here is 14 consecutive female characters to accomodate our audience"
The only light for us right now is Harumasa who's probably gonna be the same patch as Miyabi in 1.4, other than that, leaks show in the future : 7 females and 4 males (but that's including vague leaks who could be talking about what's coming months from now).
