Merc treads are pretty bad against nasus anyways. Decreases the slow duration but that just means you get max wither slowed even faster. Swiftys are better if that's what you're getting at.
In fact, Tabis are better in this instance too since mercs don't really do anything against his team.
So tabis > swiftys > mercs

The laning phase is fun and easy but i find it useless in teamfights and i can't carry with it. It is just not tanky enough and you don't deal that much damage.
