      of course you can't . this is just for integer display. it would have shown if it worked. not worth spending time on this.

    Do 7-seg displays like this need a constant refresh? I.e. do we need to write the signal CONSTANTLY in a loop, or is it sufficient to write once, and then do nothing (e.g. for a few secs) until a change is required?
