Beautiful job as always. People not in the industry do not realize how stressful and time consuming it is to set up a proper looking event. FYI ..the painted throne chair came out great ❤️ 😍
I'm so glad to hear you say this. I was only given 45 minutes to setup for a small wedding. I was sick to my stomach because it didn't allow me the time I needed to really showcase my talent. Thank you Sis. Great job.
Great set-up! Even though you do a lot of "Teddy Bear" themed events, I love how they never look the same👍🏾 THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND THE ADVICE ☺️ GET WELL SOON AND CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED
Good for you! 1 hour is simply ridiculous. The client should include the cost in their budget and just pay for the extra set up time. People often forget parties are a luxury. OAN: Beautiful job as always. Love your work and advise. Thank you! ❤️
Ohhh myyy!! Preach. You are dropping gems 💎 ..& providing some solid advice. I agree 💯 1hr is just not enough time. I have declined service requests for this very reason. There is sooo much to consider when setting up decor for events. Travel and location are also two huge considerations for me! The final setup is BEAUTIFUL! 😍🥰
I agree!! 1 hour is definitely not enough time. I'm decorating my daughter's shower in Oct. I'm already stressed!! I need 3 hrs just to chill and get clean and fresh myself up afterwards.
Glad to see/hear that you are feeling better. You may do a lot of teddy bear baby showers but they all are so different. You’re creativity is truly a gift.
You always do a fantastic job! I agree with you, one hour is not enough. Even if you prepped at home. Thank you for sharing your videos. And you didn't ramble😊
As always, turned out great! I don’t even think 2 hours is enough for decor. I’m requesting 3 hours for setup because I’ve had situations where the venue opened later than agreed time, backdrops from other vendors arriving late, etc. it’s too stressful having to rush.
I agree because my brother & I had only a hour to set up for catering and the venue was small and we couldn’t decorate the tables like we wanted and setting up dessert tables, food tables and appetizers. We made it work but you wanna give your best and hour is not enough time
OMG YOU ARE LITERALLY A LIFE SAVER!!!! I WATCHED THE TUTORIAL THAT HAD Technical DIFFICULTIES AND IT SAVED MY LIFE! I HAVE AN EVENT TMRW AND THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME DECORATING W BALLOONS AND I WATCHED SO MANY TUTORIALS AND THEY LITERALLY DID NOT HELP AT ALL AND WATCHING YOU LITERALLY EXPLAINED WHAT I NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT MAKING A GARLAND! YOU MADE IT SO SIMPLE! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I completely agree and understand. I did my own setup for the first time and DIY everything myself so I even had agreed to change my event time, which I only that to have 2 hours to setup and leave the venue early . That still wasn’t enough time for me since it was my first time. I definitely will not book another venue that will only allow 1 hour .
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! I have recently changed my time requirement to 3 hour or more. I was hesitant at first because I knew I would have to turn away potential clients (and I was correct!) But, the over all Hassle is gone! Trying to set up in 1 or 2 hours I was snapping at everyone making them upset and of course unhappy work crew meant sloppy work. So Hats Off to you! The venders should be aware of the new decor trends and know that it can not be done in 1 hour… Shame on them! Ok so now I have rambled on lol. I will say this, I Pray that God will Bless You with your own transportation vehicle. You have poured out so much to your RUclips viewers and it has not been in vain, watch and see! Be Blessed!😊
I wholeheartedly agree! I had a client that rented a venue that only allowed 1 hour set-up with 2 backdrops, and a total of 21 tables. That was an horrendous situation so I had to hire 15 people to help which added to the cost that I had to charge. We did it, but I tell people now that one hour is not enough time to do the elaborate decorations that they like!
I definitely agree. It is very stressful when you have an hour to set up. So to me know you’re not rambling you’re just stating west best for your business especially if you’re decorating tables you have help you want to go back over it and doublecheck what’s done after you’ve done you apart it’s just not enough time. Love your videos 😊
Wow, one hour is insane! Two hours should be a minimum. The last baby shower I set up at was 2 1/2 hours and we got done in about an hour and 45 minutes so I helped the other person setting up. As usual, beautiful work!
This is all so true. Venues need to do better with letting us in.2 or more hours would be perfect.Like you said you have unloading, maybe rearranging etc.You did a excellent job as usual.Stay blessed
Oh my goodness. 1 hour is not enough. I’m with you on that. Been there done that. And I will not do it again either. Everything turned out good for your event. Event planning is not for the weak. Lol. Good job. ❤️🐻
I totally agree with you. I decided a couple of months to no longer take 1 hour set ups as well. It is to stressful. I believe that my client can't get my best work in such a small amount of time. I feel like my clients deserve the best and in order for me to give my best work I have to has 2 -3 hours of set up time. I noticed that some balloon artist/event planners charge an additional fee if clients only have 1 hour of set up time.
I agree with you. As a newcomer to the event industry, I recently had the opportunity to work on two events. The first event I was given just one hour, while the second two. Even with two hours, I found myself struggling to keep up and feeling very anxious. If I'm just renting out a flower backdrop, I can handle a one-hour, but if it involves balloons or any other type of decor or setup, then it's a no-go for me. It took me two days to calm down from the anxiety that I experienced while working on those events.
Awesome job!!! Yes more time is needed when it comes to decorating I agree. Praying for speedy recovery! Yess no more 1hr your heart deserves to be at Peace not stress ok lol. Keep it coming! Much Love
One hour is just ridiculous 🥺 I would turn down straight away clients if they only can give me 1 hour to set up. I salute you can come out with beautiful work within 1 hour. For me I usually request a minimum 3 hours in advance. Thank you so much for sharing.
You do amazing work. I love your channel. You are absolutely correct. I’ve been doing balloons for awhile. I wouldn’t do a one hour setup. Too much pressure for me. You did amazing. Like others have said, some people really do not understand the time involved in ballooning. Love the bears. I found large ones at Lidl, great find.
I learned my lesson this past weekend with 1 hour set ups. I had to hire extra help because I had 1 hour to do a marquee stacked & balloon design set with 2 other balloon garland set ups. ETC
You did a beautiful job as always. I definitely agree I always ask for 4 but love the venues that don't mind you coming the day before. I'm in a small area and a couple of them will let you come in the night before free of charge as long as they don't have an event scheduled.
I miss that so much! Pre-COVID, most venues would let you come in the night before if there wasn’t an event booked. After COVID, most venues will not let you do that. They only give you a block of time.
Some times the venue is that strick because the client didn't take their decor package. They use these restrictions to force people take their packages. You did a great job non the less
That's such a horrible business practice. The smoother everything goes the more it reflects positively on all involved. I would be tempted not to take jobs at that venue.
I can relate, I've experienced venues who are strict like that sometimes deep down they want THEIR CREWto decorate. Some places are 6 hour rentals 1 hr to set up and break down. Customers need to be mindful of their start time and the event starting on time. Yes WE need at least 2hrs to fully set up. Thanks for sharing this content and being honest. Keep up the great work!
Yes, that’s true. Clients have to be mindful when they rent a block of time. It’s really not enough when you’re hiring a professional decorator. You need 2-3 hours for setup.
I totally agree with you! I came up with this same policy back in 2020 . I hate how the venues only give 1 hour complimentary, then charge crazy money to the clients for additional hours, making it sometimes impossible for them to even be able to afford additional time and professional decorations. Then they will not allow us to come in earlier than the set time , even though they are right there on the premises. It really sucks for the customers! I feel like sometimes they punish them for not using their in-house decorator 🤷🏽♀️ just my opinion! But you are very wise to not take 1 hour set up. Your work speaks for your business and you’d like to give your customers the best experience possible.
Agreed. I especially don’t like when they’re are on the premises, and nothing else is going on in the space. I mean, you’re here just let me in please. Often, I will ask them to allow me to unload my stuff in the space. If they agree, I have a few members of my team to start setting up inconspicuously, while I am still unloading, and by the time they do another walk through it is our scheduled time and we are ahead. Hate to do it that way, but some venues are just ridiculous. Some don’t mind and let us in. 3 hours is my minimum, I want to be close to done before other vendors start coming to set up. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
I had a client tell me that a venue was only giving her 30 minutes of setup time. Venues like that are basically saying that they don’t want a bunch of decorations in there. I had to politely decline.
I Agree I think if u are just getting started as a event decor 1hr may work for you. But as u advance in ur business u definitely need more time.. And i totally understand the Perfectionist Issue lol im the same way.. It can be a good thing at times and a bad thing all in the same token lol. But all in all.. All is Well. The Event turned out beautifully. U did an amazing job.. Pray U feel Much Better Soon. Thankx for sharing. God bless🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🥳🥳🥳😇😇
Beautiful work!🎉😊 My sister just informed me that my niece wants this theme for her baby shower in April! I’ll share this video with her. And I agree you need more time to perfect your work. Totally understandable!
Great info!! You did not ramble. This was very helpful. I’m still a newbie as an event planning business, but I’ve done several parties before and 1 hour is just not enough time to perfect everything to my liking. My most recent was my daughter’s birthday party and I ended up just placing the balloon clusters on the table as bubbles since the theme was Mermaid Princess. It still turned out super cute, but it was very stressful.
It looked amazing.!!!! You do wonderful work...Wow~!! I understand the stress....My daughter booked her wedding venue and we had 1 hour before and 1 hour after to decorate, undecorate..etc. It was so stressful and we didn't put out half the stuff. Did anyone even notice??? no....but it just wasn't complete feeling to me. Luckily for her baby shower, we have the venue for the entire day ...(the women's club in town)...we can decorate, go home, change and come back relaxed and ready to have fun!
I hate having a short window for setup! but of course i sometimes still take them. This Saturday I have one at a restaurant and the time is an hour, but I'm only doing 1 backdrop with balloons. I will arrive early and hope i can get in the room. For anything bigger when i have to do linen, centerpieces and chair covers, etc 3hrs MINIMUM!!! I cant put myself under that type of stress anymore.
I love this video and I’m so happy I came across this. I have my first event scheduled in two weeks and thought I could handle everything within an hour. Definitely will use this going forward.
Awesome work, lady. And you are do spot on about the timing issues. That can really create a negative outcome if there are any issues on your end. This is sage advice. Nice going!
I just had a one hour set up for a small wedding. It was the most stressful event I’ve done in a while. I’m with you, I think I may decline the next one one
I completely Overstand this! you did a wonderful job 👏 I have had 5 1 hour events this year and whoa the stress .. I have a team but I am the only one to do my balloon setups so no matter how organized and prepared the pressure is a lot!!
One hour is a beast. I just missed total embarrassment trying to do the same. Only thing saved my tail was that the guest of honor was stuck in traffic and her guest were all told to wait in the lobby so I can finish. It took 1.5 hours. They asked me to go ahead and finish. I told them it was not enough time when they first told me the 2 hours had been cut to one.
Your work is always beautiful and tips are so useful. Even with several hours of prep prior at home, I still could not do a one hour set up. It's too stressful. Appreciate you sharing as always.
I’m sorry. I don’t count the number of balloons I use for my client setups. You can check this video though - ruclips.net/video/56wwvbA4IIY/видео.html. I have balloon counts in there.
That's the best way to go. We have a 2 hour setup min. It cause stress, anxiety, frustration, and more. People will need to pay for additional time, if they want your services.
awesome job and yes 3-4 hours is best that way you don't have to be rush. I would love for you to show me how to to do that. Me and my husband are going to renew our wedding vowels next year.
I enjoy looking at your video's you do beautiful work thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing where you purchase your silk flowers from to do your centerpieces and backdrops? Also the link please
Thank you! All of the materials I use (including the silk flowers) are listed in the description of my videos. You can also purchase my vendor list here - yeseventdecorandmore.retrieve.com/store/#/resources/yes-event-decor-vendor-list.
Beautiful as alway!!! Yes we have seen teddy bears a zillion times but you make it different every time. Your mind is amazing! My repeat theme is always safari or winter wonderland. I have run into this issue several times. I require at least 2.5 hours with two crew members. If the venue does not allow for the client to purchase extra setup time, I will charge for extra crew members to execute it within a short time period. It usually takes myself and four others to setup in an hour. Most of the time it's just the client who feels like they shouldn't have to pay for time they are not using. Most venues have a set price for let's say..6 hours. At that point the client decides they want to utilize 5 hours and give us 1 rather than use 4 and give us two. I have in my contract to allow me 15 minutes to unload in addition to setup time. I also have it in my contract that guest should not arrive before my scheduled setup end time. (I will not open the doors before I'm done if Im on schedule) I always allow myself enough time to be done 15 minutes early for pics, touch ups and clean up. If an event starts at 4, then my setup time begins at 1:00 and ends at 3:45(2 crew members). Any time shorter than that, they pay for each additional person.
OMG. Absolutely beautiful. Can you tell the process of painting your throne chair: the paint brand and do you paint over each color when you have to change the color or do you strip the old color off somehow and then paint the new color.
What is it about the venues that don't want to give decorators more time? I've only done a one-hour job once and that was enough for me. It was way too stressful and my job wasn't as big as yours. By the way your event came out sooo beautiful. Thank you for sharing and thank you for making me realize I'm not alone when it comes to this issue. God bless you and continue healing.
You’re definitely NOT alone. Prior to COVID, I didn’t have any issues with getting additional setup time if I needed it. Now these venues have so many events booked, it can be hard to get more setup time if you need it. Going forward, I’m not decorating at any venue that can’t give at least 2 hours to setup…I’ll just have to refer those events to other people 🤷🏽♀️
I totally agree with you! We have to protect our brand! What paint did you use to paint your throne chair?
I used Behr Interior Flat/Matte white paint called “Ice Sculpture”. Thanks!
Do you repaint your throne chairs for each event?
@@blangoblango1068 No, I don’t. I’ve only painted it once.
I agree
I agree, 1 hour isn't nearly enough especially if balloons & backdrops are involved
You are so right!! It is so much work and client's don't realize the details make the difference!! You and your staff did an amazing job!!

Awww! Thank you! I felt like I was rambling. Lol! ☺️ It’s the balloons that take the longest! I can see why you don’t take 1-hour setups.
@YesEventDecor - what is the square frame that you are using for the curtains and balloons? Thanks!
@@crisdougherty1 It’s my backdrop stand. The link is in the description. Thanks!
Beautiful job as always. People not in the industry do not realize how stressful and time consuming it is to set up a proper looking event. FYI ..the painted throne chair came out great ❤️ 😍

45 minutes??? That’s crazy. How is that enough time to setup?
You still did a beautiful job. Everything was perfect.
Thank you!
Agreed! One hour setup isn’t enough time. Your work is lovely! 😊
Awww! Thank you!
That's a great set up. One issue when you don't have a truck or a van, it's kind of difficult to transport the balloons blown up.
It is very difficult for me since the balloons are too big to fit in my car…
Great set-up! Even though you do a lot of "Teddy Bear" themed events, I love how they never look the same👍🏾
THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND THE ADVICE ☺️ GET WELL SOON AND CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED
Awww! Thank you! ❤️
I totally agree with everything that you said! One hour is simply not enough unless you have a large team, which most decorators do not have.
Exactly! And that large team would cost a much higher setup fee….
Loving the decorations. Yes 1hr is not enough. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Definitely not enough.
It's beautiful. A hour is definitely not enough time. Good thing you had help.
Thank the Lord I had help! I would have NEVER been able to get that done by myself.

If the client can purchase additional setup time…some of these venues will not allow it, especially if they’re booking events back to back. 🤦🏽♀️
You did amazing!!!! ❤️ But the stress is not good for anyone. No, no, no more!! 😊 kudos to you always!! And push for those 3 hours lovely lady! 🙏🥰👍

@@staycesedgwick9557 Agreed. If they’re on the premises and the room is available, we should be able to start setting up…
I Agree I think if u are just getting started as a event decor 1hr may work for you.
Exactly! As your business grows, you need more time. 👏🏽👏🏽
Beautiful work!🎉😊 My sister just informed me that my niece wants this theme for her baby shower in April! I’ll share this video with her. And I agree you need more time to perfect your work. Totally understandable!
Thank you! Congratulations to your niece!! ❤️
Thank you! I’m glad I wasn’t rambling. ☺️ Yes, 1-hour setups are very, very stressful.
I definitely agree!!!! And going forward i think I'm gonna do the same.
Good for you! 👏🏽👏🏽
I love when you get the venue for the whole day!!!! You can do so much more with the space and you’re not as stressed out.
The stress is real…and it’s not good for you. Table decorations take a long time! 3 hours for setup sounds good to me!
I love how it turned out…..cute cute
Thank you!
I love this video and I’m so happy I came across this. I have my first event scheduled in two weeks and thought I could handle everything within an hour. Definitely will use this going forward.
Congratulations on your first event!!! I’ll say a prayer for you! 🙏🏽
I totally agree with you! I have been in that situation and I am no longer doing it either. Great job as always!👏🏻♥️
Thank you! I’m glad more and more people are pushing back on 1-hour setups. Maybe we’ll go back to a standard of 2 hours.
Awesome work, lady. And you are do spot on about the timing issues. That can really create a negative outcome if there are any issues on your end. This is sage advice. Nice going!
Thank you!
I just had a one hour set up for a small wedding. It was the most stressful event I’ve done in a while. I’m with you, I think I may decline the next one one
I can only imagine…
Beautiful work!
Thank you!
I love the set up. Great job.
Thank you!
So beautiful 😍
Thank you!
I completely Overstand this! you did a wonderful job 👏 I have had 5 1 hour events this year and whoa the stress .. I have a team but I am the only one to do my balloon setups so no matter how organized and prepared the pressure is a lot!!
It is a lot!!! If you don’t have to do balloons, it’s a little easier. But balloons make it sooooo stressful! 🤦🏽♀️
the theme def isn't going anywhere. Came to this video to help plan mine! lol Thank you this was beautiful
I know! This theme is here to stay! ☺️ Thank you.
I totally agree with you, and had to make the same decision a few months ago.
Good for you! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You are awesome with the balloon OMG!!!
Thank you! I’m still learning ☺️
@@YesEventDecor lol I know you didn’t just comment that 😂😂😂 I understand though.
@@EOEDesigns Lol! I need to catch up on your videos.
@@YesEventDecor 🥹🥹🥹 I’m about to pass out 🥲
Yes 👏🏽 and thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Thank goodness for that traffic!!! Sometimes it’s a good thing when the guest of honor is running late!
I totally agree with you. I wouldn't sign a contract at a venue that doesn't allow more than one hour. I've been there and done that.
Exactly!!! Been there, will not do that anymore.
LOVE LOVE this! I have recently started doing balloon set ups and have been asked for something similar to this. Where did you get the chair? TIA!!!!
I got the Throne chair from Chiseled Perfections. The link is in the description. Thanks!
Boundaries are good. Great insights
Boundaries are good!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you!
Your work is always beautiful and tips are so useful. Even with several hours of prep prior at home, I still could not do a one hour set up. It's too stressful. Appreciate you sharing as always.
🤣🤣🤣 I know!!!! You can spend all week preparing and still need more than 1-hour for setup.
You did an amazing job as always. Love it. I can't believe you guys did that in an hour!
Thank you!
1hour! You've got to be kidding me! You did amazing!
its so stressful! she did an amazing job
Thank you! I tried!
Most definitely right..I’ll let clients know when I’m catering.. I tell them we need at least 2 hrs for setup.. sometimes more..
Exactly! This 1-hour setup is not enough time.
I love your video's. Thanks for sharing. I have an event next month. Do you recall how many balloons you used for each color and size?
And that’s the truth! If they want a professional decorator, they have to give us the time we need to decorate (even if they have to pay for it).
Thank you for your post!
You're welcome
very nice
Thank you! ☺️
I totally agree!! One hr is not enough
It’s not! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
awesome job and yes 3-4 hours is best that way you don't have to be rush. I would love for you to show me how to to do that. Me and my husband are going to renew our wedding vowels next year.
Awww! Congratulations to you and your husband! I have classes coming up! Here’s the link - www.yeseventdecor.com/classes.
I really like how you make the process so easy and smooth my kids birthdays coming up hopefully I could finish the decorations very fast
Awww! I’ll be praying for you. I hope your kiss’s birthday comes out nice! ☺️
Love this comment!!!! Especially the part about not opening the doors until you are done decorating!!! That’s what I need to start doing.
Looks Gorgeous!
Thank you!
It’s ridiculous that venues think that’s enough time. None the less. You did a great job! It came out to beautiful.
Thank you! We definitely need more time!
Great job and it shows you don’t take shortcuts!
Thank you!
