    I remember the first clever Timberborn idea saw a RUclipsr do was Katherine of Sky many many months ago. She's always built three of the little water tanks next to each other so that she could delete them later on to put the big tank I thought that was so smart.

    I gotta admit, that design with the wooden and metal platform is awesome, functional and it looks great, I'm so glad that guy commented and explain in that way, you need to do that in the large tank, plus you could space them apart in the middle and still have that stairway going down to the lower levels

    The best thing is, in conjunction with your big brain underwater water tanks, you can fill those narrow canals with water after filling that tanks itself.
    It is sooooo efficient and I'm loving every bit of it sooooo muuuch!
    Your efficient water storage system and Firephy's successful unlimited hydroelectric power via his perpetual motion machine (waterwheels running endlessly even on droughts) are the best ones I've seen on the Timberborn gameplays, aside from the dam builds from other Timberborners ofc.
    I really wanna buy the game myself, but I'm waiting for further updates and mods, like when a third faction will come, there are more varieties of trees, food crops and buildings and decorations, as well as mods and maps to further make it more interesting.

    Now with update 3 being out, the dimensions of the water tanks all changed. I guess you can do the same with the 2×2 tanks by just adding a platform with the corner, but that seems a bit wasteful. Can we do better here (or for the 3×3 tanks)?

    • @SMGJohn
      @SMGJohn Год назад

      The most space saving use of a platform is to have factories below stacked ontop of storage boxes, then ontop you can have water tanks.
      You can do wood plantation underneath with stuff ontop.
      If all you care about is water, 4 x 300 litre tanks and then 1 x 1200 litre ontop of the platform is the most space efficient use, you are technically getting 2400 litres in space of 3x3, only downside is you cannot stack this design, I suppose you can stack it twice but you are gonna have trouble trying to fill all of this unless you use bots on both water pumps and the distribution network which makes the most sense as beavers only work certain parts of the day.
      All in all, you can probably build a 4800 litre storage section in space of 3x5 with stairs included which in itself is quite impressive feat of compactness.

Platforms main desigion => increase opportunity for vertical construction.but cuz they can be used too late,players already build ful base with out them. For good usage player must DELETE full base and rebuild it again.Platforms too expansive to use.

    • @m0ro
      @m0ro 2 года назад

      I think the main issue is that we don't get materials back when deleting items. It's less so the cost of metal I think, and more that early on you don't want to "waste" 500 metal on something that might not be permanent. If we could get even just half the materials back then it would be a different story.

    • @sergeylukin9111
      @sergeylukin9111 2 года назад

      @@m0ro i disagree with you. I think player must have hard punishment for bad desigions.If devs put function of "dismantling"... game difficulty becomes a joke. But the cost is extremely expensive.even a player like you released a video of water storage. Why didn't you think of it yourself? Because you couldn't spend so many resources in all your games for the sake of experimentation. This faction all about vertical building and short plasment. Main reason for platforms => easy building inside a dam.Or building over roofed buildings. But who needs platforms? if most of the players are already building up most of the map by the time when 500 metal ingots are collected. And most often players already want to finish the game.In my opinion devs must decrease cost to 75 and 100. if cost be this numbers... players REALY start accumulate ingots and try to build vertically. Yes, it is still expensive and long in the early stages of the game.But this will just save space. Just like beehives and large warehouses do.I really hoped to find a simple mod that reduces the cost. But there is none. Very sad.But i glad ExtendedArchitecture exist. not so efficient but handy to have some thing.
