As for 'Magic Shop', my sister (who's major in psychology) said that it's a psychological/psychodramatic method to exchange your fear with a positive attitude. It's also based on the novel 'Into The Magic Shop' by Dr. James R. Doty. He examines the science behind mindfulness and tell us what is possible when you start to change the way you 'use' your brain and your heart. BTS basically want us to enter their 'Magic Shop', erase all our fear and sadness, and make them our happiness instead. They have taken a 'fans song' to another level. This is why I love and respect BTS so much. The references, the meaning, the poetic and aesthetic, the deepness, the sincerity for their fans. Wow, just wow 👏👏
So for 134340, suga said that he wrote it in metaphor of how pluto is rejected as a planet in the solar system right so they're metaphorically comparing themselves to pluto :)
some people may not love this new album because the songs sound different and not powerful enough to hype, but personally I agree with you, I like this album the best. I can play their songs at night, chill in my comfort zone, drink my favorite cup of tea and just enjoy their music. I mean, this album shows that they grow up so much musically through the beats and their vocals.
Tu Kusuyama Just different side of them I think. I think it's good cuz now what age what mood you can have the suitable bts songs to play. I might can get my mum into bts using this album. You know when you don't know the language, the beat and vibe counts so much, and I agree this time is more suitable for ppl that need some laid back music😊 like after a freakin day's work
Music is more than just hype. It should be able to accompany you through life, in any situation, any emotion. This album has the ups and downs of life. It starts off with sad vibes & builds up to a crescendo with Outro: TEAR. I feel like when ppl only talk about hype songs it reduces the meaning of music. Like they don't appreciate it enough. For someone who really can't live without music, I feel sad when that happens.
The message of this album is just so powerful. It might sound so cliche 'just be yourself', but it really is not easy to do, and with BTS we know the always try to show us more of their real selves.💜😭
'134340' is a number for what was known as the planet 'Pluto'. Suga wrote most of the lyrics. He said it's a metaphor, because Pluto was like being kicked out from the solar system, loosing it's name and being forgotten, like a person being kicked out from the society/the one he loves. It didn't even have an official name now other than the 134340. 'I used to be part of your solar system, but now I'm nothing.' GODDAMMIT MIN YOONGI!! 😭😭
I'm not really understanding why some people are saying BTS is losing creative control of their music. They're still writing/co-writing/co-producing their own music. This album is amazing lyrically and otherwise. There is nothing wrong with experimenting with different sounds and expanding to the Western market. Why would you not want your favorite artist to gain more fans? Oh because you liked them before they were cool? Lame.
Ashley K. They alw going with "too westernized" things as if western dont have any good song I dont understand what's wrong with western influence? Are all western songs sound really bad to their ears?? Istg
i can get it when they said they miss such bts old songs. you know.. like their old album. i know and i can get that feel. but i really can't get it when they said bts is losing creative control or whatsoever. from the very start, even bangpd nim admited that bts had influenced by western hiphop artist. and what more saddening is that words come from army itself. they called themselves fans but they are so easy to say such things about bangtan 😩
Fr! I keep thinking the same thing, I have read some comments in different videos people saying they lost interest in BTS cuz they are "too big now" and becoming "too western"... like bruhh why won't you want the group that you love to get more fans? wasn't that the reason you started listening to them? for them to become bigger and succeed? like I think people who think like that are straight up selfish... BTS is still doing their thing, which makes them great! They are unique, they talk about true stuff, they try the best to recompensate their fans and honestly deserve all the love that they are getting all over the world!
Preach! It’s also hypocritical af because most of the people saying this are fans of groups that have all their songs produced by rejected western producers. Like really?
The Untold Truth is my no.1 on this album. Next is Singularity. This is Bangtan entering adulthood & I’m loving it a little too much now.. love your reactions, as always 💖
As artists and musicians you evolve and experiment with different styles. I enjoy the direction they are going with. They don’t want to be put into a box and a stereotype. BTS can’t always please everyone some will like it others will love it! I enjoyed the album!! 👍👍
I love your reactions, because you guys are equally fluent in Korean & English. Your interpretations are so helpful. You aren’t just interpreting word for word, rather you explain the essence of the lyrics. I REALLY appreciate it! 🙏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼
Danny may have said some unpopular opinion and have different music taste, but that's why seeing him praising and liking this album feels like a huge accomplishment/recognition. There's much more satisfaction in pleasing someone hard to please haha
I'm not really that familiar with Steve Aoki, so when I read the title (ft. Steve Aoki) I was praying for it no be a EDM song, and when it started I already knew it would be one of my favorite songs, and it is along with the Outro: Tear
You've proven yourself to be an intellectual if you prefer singularity to fake love, seriously. Not everyone is brave enough to say it out loud so I'm grateful for your honesty :))
the magic shop is actually a psychodramatic technique for therapy!! this magic shop technique basically trading your insecurities and fears into a positive attitude
Paradise is about how it’s okay to not have a dream it’s like an explanation into what Suga said in his New Years message about how you can be happy without a dream as long as what you’re doing is making you happy that is your paradise. This song states how even the little things can be a dream and that you shouldn’t have a dream for the sake of having a dream. Momentary happiness can be a dream too.
This is the best album of BTS and I've known them since their debut. You can clearly see (and feel) how they matured and improve their music through out those years. I'm proud of you boys. :)
I know it is alredi 5 months ago and i too ve known them since debut and it makes me happy to know that someone else thinking the same way as me :) bcs honestly i get caught up with life that i dont really keep updated with them but this album pull me back and i fell even harder 😭
As a brazilian, I kinda feel a bossa nova vibe in 134540. Because bossa nova is influenced by jazz, this song is super jazzy, but has something else that took me back to the 60’s 70’s.
the song is about Pluto as in the actual planet and how it’s become reduced to just a rock and not anything real. It’s about how they’ve become forgotten and lost not really a love song it’s about the isolation and fear after being something and being lost
This whole album is dark that’s the theme with magic shop it’s a psychedelic technique where you trade your fear for happiness that’s what magic shop is and this song is a fan song saying how you can trade your fears and doubts for happiness experienced with bts. You’ll notice how every song after magic shop becomes lighter as in the fear from the songs before it were traded in for happiness
Nazmina Rumi thats an interesting theory but tear is not light? OH DAMN what if... uno how the magic shop technique is temporary maybe by putting tear at the end which is one of the darkest songs theyre showing once the false positiveness wears off, all the fears come crashing back down at full power
To me, what people classify as westernized music, is just music. So when people say they're making more westernized music, to me it just sounds like good music that BTS created. Like it's still K Pop to me because it's by a Korean group and they're singing in Korean. Music is separated by genres. They simply explored different genres, but it's all still K Pop
Asteroid 134340 is actually what pluto is named now. There's some "theories" that it's actually about the real planet pluto or the greek mythology about hades and persephone's love story
This is the first time I'm listening to their album and I love how Danny explains parts of the songs to us who don't understand Korean! This album is DOPEEEEEEEEEE!
El Mariachi is one of Mexico's music style. Is usually played by a group of 6 - 15 people with musical instruments like guitars and trumpets. We have Mariachi in our parties when is time to sing like the happy birthday song, to play a love song to a lover or just to celebrate. It symbolizes happiness and unity. There's also a low budget American movie called El Mariachi. 👌🏽
They worked with Korean composer & foreign composer for this album, and they all amazing. One of them produce/compose havana. British composer, etc. But BTS still have their hands on their works. And all the songs are different, unique, but it still their own style. They try different genres & keep improving. So it's amazing! It's seldom for me to dig & love all tracks in one album. But with this album, I can love them all.
I just searched on Google about El Mariachi. It is a movie,a very small budget movie (representing BTS I guess),in which the main character is an aspiring musician with a guitar. That guy is mistaken for a gangster with weapons.I guess this totally represents BTS who started small, but then they were mistaken by the public/army's as being capable of having a large potential which actually made them give their best.
I'm actually surprised how much you like the album, maybe i don't know your music tastes as well as i thought 😂😂 i love watching your reactions as always thank you for your quick reaction ❤️❤️
This album is great!!! Yesterday I listen to every freaking song like a 100 times, this is how good it is! My faves songs are... all of them lmaoo, they are so good and deep, btw thanks for translating Danny.
Paradise was written after a statement Yoongi said on a New Year's broadcast about how it's ok not to have a dream, as long as you're are living a happy life :')
I love chill hops and kind of slow songs both ballads but ones with beats too. Also R&B. So the fact BTS is finally experimenting in this album with more of these kind of genres. I’m so happy.
i felt way more comfortable sharing this album w/ my friends (which i did) bc like you said, it's a lot easier to listen to, especially if you're just diving into k pop. i mean, i'm hella recent army. i came in after they released LY Her, and loved that album bc of songs like dimple and pied piper - more laid back but incredibly well produced and well written songs. so this album "iss likea dreams com tru!"
Azaria Coakley Same! A lot of people say that LY Her wasn't up to their expectations but I personally loved it! Nice to see that someone shares the same opinion!
Appreciate u watching it live! It helped me enjoy the album even more since you’re korean and can help me contextualize the songs :) I’m a fan of u guys regarding bts videos!!
For me, after Fake Love the next like four songs kinda blend together in terms of the rhythm and overall vibe so I wouldn’t say this is their best album. singularity, anpanman, and ttu are the standout songs on this album for me tbh
I love love love BTS. They’re really the only kpop group I listen to. But on first listen, the last few songs on the album sounds like generic western songs from the last few months. Which is sort of disappointing. But of course I’ll listen to it on repeat and become obsessed with it nevertheless. I still appreciate the fact they tried to something different and beyond regular kpop. Fake love and untold truth are amazing. From your reaction, I can tell, they definitely tried to go way beyond regular kpop. Either geared towards breaking into the western market, or even just break into more non BTS fans Koreans since korean people listen to a lot of western music too. And I agree, with more older people and not 13 year olds. Edit : After 8 hrs, I am indeed obsessed with this album now.
nonono Not generic AT ALL. Anpanman, Airplane pt.2 are so different and kinda weird but so amaziiing. And So What. I usually dont like those kinds of songs, but this just was a BOP. You have to be in the mood tho
It’s experimental from kpop point of view. Not so much if you compare it to western songs. I am only talking about the music. Not the lyrics. Like I said, it seems to be geared towards non kpop fans.
I understand what you’re saying about it being geared towards non-kpop fans, but in BTS Burn the Stage RM and Suga talked about trying to continue to be fresh and do something new. They had already been doing this for four or five years and they want to continue making music and performing for many more years. So they want to try new things and bring a fresh image, I think with this album they were trying to bring something new in that sense, rather than just aim towards western non-kpop fans, or trying to westernize their music. RM said in Burn the Stage that he doesn’t want to become like western artist, but wants BTS to become influencial and share their music on the same level they do (because a large majority of the world pop listens to American music). Over all I think this album is amazing and BTS always exceeds my expectations!! Fake Love is amazing and the lyrics in all their songs are just... just AMAZING!! I will forever be a BTS fan and appreciate their music.
this album relates to me so much because i have "friends" and i have to put on a "mask" to fit in and im afraid if i take it off i'll lose everything and i'll be alone again and i have to hide from eveerything and be someone else , i say im ok wen im not and i make bad desicions to fit in when theres better people out there but i dont wanna take off the mask but bts has helped me and im so happy i discovered bts because if i didnt i would stay in this mask forever but im slowly starting to take it off and starting to be myself but its still hard but bts is helping me every day with this. (sorry if it didnt make sense but i just wanted to get that thru)
I was commenting saying how much it cracked me up when you brought up D12 but then you were saying how we all don't probably know who they are and I was like HOW OLD DOES HE THINK WE ALL ARE?
Oh my gawdddd when he said V 😍😍😍😍 and singularity is also my favourite....but yeah I too get confused like you every time I listen to the next tracks... I can feel you😂....i so wanted that magic shop reactions 😊😊😊😊
I'm glad you like the album. For me, the album was so so. My top 3 BTS albums list remains unthreaten. I haven't read the English lyrics except for (singularity, fake love and magic shop) yet but so far only a few songs wowed me - singularity, fake love, the truth untold, and anpanman. But the songs are growing on me as I listen to the album more, so I'm thinking maybe my ears aren't used to BTS taking on these types of melody that sounds very westernized.
As for 'Magic Shop', my sister (who's major in psychology) said that it's a psychological/psychodramatic method to exchange your fear with a positive attitude. You sounds like Jhope's conscience .
THIS ALBUM IS SUCH A MASTERPIECE ISN'T IT?
It is😎
It’s so beautiful. I literally cannot stop crying, I identify with it so much❤️
i love all the songs!
Affirmative. Definitely yes

GuCci jAmS that made me laugh too hard.
You guys are the only reactors I go to for genuine, unbiased & concise interpretation of korean music by intelligent adults. Keep going, guys 💪🏻
WWH andsome true. they're very refreshing
The Untold Truth is my no.1 on this album. Next is Singularity. This is Bangtan entering adulthood & I’m loving it a little too much now.. love your reactions, as always 💖
WWH andsome are you me? that's exactly my top 2
BTS seriously snapped on this whole album, like it’s literally a BOP! 💕
I just can't believe this album. I thought that HYYH PT.2 will forever be my favorite BTS album but this album just seems to be from another planet
20296 jj SAME!!!!!! My loyalty has been shattered!
20296 jj OMG SAMEEEE!!!
same!!!
Lost in space with Pluto. Best song for me is OUTRO: Tear. That song sounded like a movie score. DDaeng BTS!
Yes exactly. Tear really sounds like a movie. I could imagine a whole story just from the intro music of it.
As artists and musicians you evolve and experiment with different styles. I enjoy the direction they are going with. They don’t want to be put into a box and a stereotype. BTS can’t always please everyone some will like it others will love it! I enjoyed the album!! 👍👍

134340 is really the music i love but never expected for bts to do it. I'm more in love everyday
Danny may have said some unpopular opinion and have different music taste, but that's why seeing him praising and liking this album feels like a huge accomplishment/recognition. There's much more satisfaction in pleasing someone hard to please haha
Nora K soooo trueee
Yeah and the best part is I agree with most of the stuff he says so it’s even more satisfying
It's not a Danny David live if there are no technical issues. 😂😂
Swati s true
it is really their best album!
Veronika J. Still WINGS :P
While u guys talk about tear n wings, Her is silently crying at the corner lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Mirin I-lovelies love yourself her was cute but ly her is THAT album
i thought nothing could beat out hyyh pt 2 as my personal fave work of theirs but THIS STRAIGHT UP TIES W HYYH PT 2 AS MY FAVE WOW ITS SO GOOD
Their full albums are always the best. From Dark & Wild to Wings and now LY:T
The song with Steve Aoki has broken me. From the music to the lyrics to their voices - just broken.
Wendy Smith same. I died each time I listened to it...
I've cried so hard, man... was powerful in a deep way
M a y u m e I feel you, fam..
I'm not really that familiar with Steve Aoki, so when I read the title (ft. Steve Aoki) I was praying for it no be a EDM song, and when it started I already knew it would be one of my favorite songs, and it is along with the Outro: Tear

What can you say, BTS outdid themselves again
Yes
violet kt yep lol what's new?😂😘
Magic Shop is composed by Jungkook, his gift to Armys.
When I read 134340's lyrics I was like:
INTELLECTUALSSSSSSSS
As a brazilian, I kinda feel a bossa nova vibe in 134540. Because bossa nova is influenced by jazz, this song is super jazzy, but has something else that took me back to the 60’s 70’s.
TheMarinaSofiaBB ikr? that's exactly what I thought when I was listening.
ps: I'm Brazilian too
almost every song
david: "What the hell is this! i can't edit. i can't resist the music." hahaha
the song is about Pluto as in the actual planet and how it’s become reduced to just a rock and not anything real. It’s about how they’ve become forgotten and lost not really a love song it’s about the isolation and fear after being something and being lost

BTS really came back with a vengeance! So proud of them for this album!

V had a lot of the opening lines and slayed so hard 😁😁😁
This album is a freaking masterpiece BTS never disappoints
JHOOOOOOOOOPE BIASED!!!
Noelsy577 did you call me ?😁
Untold truth is my personal fave in this album alongside singularity cause im a tae obsessed being. Untold truth just pulled my heart strings----
This masterpiece will now be called "a grammy nominated album", forever.
Asteroid 134340 is actually what pluto is named now. There's some "theories" that it's actually about the real planet pluto or the greek mythology about hades and persephone's love story
This album is really the best album so far. Love Yourself: Tear really dethroned Wings.
MAGIC SHOP is the one where Jungkook composed and he said he wrote this song for ARMY!!!!
This is the first time I'm listening to their album and I love how Danny explains parts of the songs to us who don't understand Korean! This album is DOPEEEEEEEEEE!

This whole album has been gold and a bop
Alright , Danny! Sing it, DANNY! SING IT THEN!

BTS is a boygroup on another level tho.
I'm not a fan of jazz or blues, but suddenly i love it in bts album 😍
Danny's "OOOOHHHH" is enough to say he approves 😆
I love it when you sang with it in korean. This is why I love watching korean youtuber reacting to my favorite kpop!
I love chill hops and kind of slow songs both ballads but ones with beats too. Also R&B. So the fact BTS is finally experimenting in this album with more of these kind of genres. I’m so happy.
you guys....... ALWAYS PROVIDING THE DETAILS... Hoping on your patreon no doubt!
This is is their best album, that's all.. ❤❤

Azaria Coakley Same! A lot of people say that LY Her wasn't up to their expectations but I personally loved it! Nice to see that someone shares the same opinion!
danny drinking water while listening to singularity is a big mood™
your speaker is amazinggggg i can enjoy the song even through the speakers
This whole album is a master piece!
you know the song is good when Danny start doing "oooooooooohHh"
the truth untold really makes me cry even though it's already stuck on replay
When Danny says “I’m an old person” and you sit there 2 days after your 34th birthday and think “thanks Danny, thanks” ☺️🙈
"is he playing the piano or something?" loll
I luv this album so much. I can't even pick a favorite bts album. I like them all for different reasons in different situations. 💜
I'm just so in love with this album. I'm listening to it all day especially love maze and fake love and magic shop
Appreciate u watching it live! It helped me enjoy the album even more since you’re korean and can help me contextualize the songs :) I’m a fan of u guys regarding bts videos!!
I really love this review coming from people who understand the raw language as it is. I enjoyed it
Thanks for the commentary, there are lot of things that sometimes get lost in translation!
The Truth Untold is my favourite on the album. I cry every time I hear it.
Best album💜💜
This album is freaking dope. I was freaking out
The untold truth is just too sad and too painful to listen for me right now but I just really love it soo much
Wow thx for the impromptu translations lol 👍
This album is so sick
Like they literally made this to make me cry in the corner! Because yeah. Truth untold & Magic shop!
This was an actual masterpiece
진짜 모든 곡들이 취저인듯..
I keep coming to ur video..is dat ok,?😂 well, u r my favourite kpop reactor after all
For me, after Fake Love the next like four songs kinda blend together in terms of the rhythm and overall vibe so I wouldn’t say this is their best album. singularity, anpanman, and ttu are the standout songs on this album for me tbh
"sounds like a Japanese jazz band!" BINGO
I have a crush on Danny, I think
I love David just silently bopping in the back XD
BTS came out to slay this comeback. 💯💯
THE ALBUM WAS SO NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. All of the songs were legit the opposite of what thought they would be
Multifandom Bitch in a good way?

Sincerely Defiant just because its in the same genre doesn't mean its generic. This album is so experimental
I actually really liked the last songs
danny is honestly me rn XD
"Persona"
Lol Danny you just said their future album's name sjsjsjsjjs
i love all the songs., best song 2018., all song in tear album!
this album relates to me so much because i have "friends" and i have to put on a "mask" to fit in and im afraid if i take it off i'll lose everything and i'll be alone again and i have to hide from eveerything and be someone else , i say im ok wen im not and i make bad desicions to fit in when theres better people out there but i dont wanna take off the mask but bts has helped me and im so happy i discovered bts because if i didnt i would stay in this mask forever but im slowly starting to take it off and starting to be myself but its still hard but bts is helping me every day with this. (sorry if it didnt make sense but i just wanted to get that thru)
your summaries of each song is hilariously short and accurate 😂😂😂 i really enjoy your reaction videos thank you!
I was commenting saying how much it cracked me up when you brought up D12 but then you were saying how we all don't probably know who they are and I was like HOW OLD DOES HE THINK WE ALL ARE?
I love watching you guys all the time and I just bought the CD and I am leaving Sioux falls , listening to it.💋💓👍
Danny : i dont know
Jimin : i dont know i dont know i dont know 😂😂😂
Oh my gawdddd when he said V 😍😍😍😍 and singularity is also my favourite....but yeah I too get confused like you every time I listen to the next tracks...
