Newly Discovered Rainbow Mountain of Yasin Valley, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan 🌈🇵🇰🥳
Ever heard about the world famous Rainbow Mountains of Peru and China?
Those are astonishingly beautiful miracles of nature. But now in our own beloved country we have discovered a hill composed of multiple lovely, eye-catching and vibrant colors! ❤💛💚💙💜🖤
Yeah, hearing it right!
Located in the Qorkolti Stream of Yasin valley of Gilgit Baltistan, there lies this hidden beauty that became a feast for eyes when one local resident reached there and took the pictures of Rainbow Mountain and then when Wanipedia Pakistan team have visited the mountain in an exciting and adventurous trek to some alpine lakes of that area.
Actually the plan to visit the Rainbow hill was proposed 2 years back, when the trek was to be done and the colorful mountain was seen on Google Earth while planning the path of trek.
Due to flooding and damages in Yasin valley last year it was delayed. But now a dream came true! ☺️✨💭
The bands of rainbow mountain are actually due to mineral deposits there. Red & brown colors show the presence of Iron oxide, green color Chromium & Copper, yellow color Sulphur & Uranium and black color shows presence of Manganese.
Rainbow mountain is perished at an altitude of 14500feet and its trek is of total 8 kilometers from Tashi village.
The travel starts from Taous, Yasin Valley on jeep that will take you to Qorkolti Nala, Daltas and Tashi, from where the trek starts.
One can also witness the beauty of Makooli Meadows, Makooli Waterfall and Makooli Lakes on this trek.
