You stand there in your work place, watching the news break on television or maybe it's a broadcast on your smart phone. Perhaps it's the emergency broadcast system breaking in over your radio, but all you know is you hear the news at the same time as everyone else. People start to panic and hurry home or towards their local shelters, but all you can do for the moment is stand in numbness at the realization of what's happening. It's only when the phone in your hand starts to buzz and you hear the ringtone for home that you break free from your reverie and answer. It's your parents, perhaps a spouse or your sibling/cousin, telling you where they're going and if they can meet you there, and all you can say in response is it won't matter. For you it's already too late, or maybe it doesn't matter where you go because you know it will never be far or deep enough. All you can do is tell them you love them, that you're sorry you weren't ever better for them, then hang up the phone as you turn in the direction of the sirens. There's a liquor store a couple doors down, you know the owner pretty well. Might not hurt to go over and see if he's still got that good bottle of scotch on the shelf...
You find your friend at the counter, also watching the news as the anchor continues to break the news of what's happening world-wide, and they meet your gaze. Recognizing the expression on your face and feeling the same bleakness, you're grabbing a pair of glasses from the display and he reaches for the bottle. Together, you crack a couple jokes and pour the scotch, before toasting to something meaningful. The sirens continue, and together you wait the coming bombs. We had a good run...

Hundreds, thousands, nigh Millions of people, Staring at their TV sets, Their Phones, Mobile devices, Children screaming in fear. Mothers holding their loved family dearly. News anchor, barely keeping himself together, tie undone, face covered with sweat as he reads off the paper that is shaking in his hand. "At O'seven Hundred Hours..There have been confirmed, nuclear detonations widespread across the globe, It is unsure as to what is the cause of this devastation, this slaughter, this Genocide of humanity." The papers fall from his hands, he holds his face, a soft sob is heard. "Karen, if you are listening to this I am sorry..." The voice of the anchorman is drowned out by the sound of sirens blaring in the distance, His eyes lock to the center of the screen. ".. God, has forsaken Humanity.. Humanity has doomed itself... May god still have mercy on those innocent and worthy... Goodbye." The screens across the world cut out as what is most likely the news station is obliterated.. The Sirens sound across the world in several locations, And then go silent. One, after another.
Your Siren Finally goes off after moments, if not hours of waiting.. There is no safety, No news, No delay. The crack, the booming echo of detonation, mixing with the deafening wailing of the alarms. The skies part like the holy book depicting the Red seas. But this is no miracle, for it is damnation.

Mankind seems to be divided when it comes to the effects of these kind of sirens on them. Some find them horrifying, some find them fascinating.
Im on both sides. I love the sound of this siren but on the other side it scare the hell out of me. Imagine you are standing on your property hear the siren and see on the horizon a mushroom cloud of a nuke...

Radiation suits protect you for limited time then radiation seeps in(its a cumulative Build up effect and it finds a way in)
And the levels would be thousands of time higher than the planned as the suits are for nuclear plant and you use em several times max for little time in small radiated lvls
Air becomes extremely deadly, water builds the rad really fast, animals/plants die or mutate(eh-1-2% might survive)
You cant ever get out of the suit as you will be dead in 24-48 after opening it
There is one way: underground shelter atleast 50m below ground with concrete/lead/concrete/lead (just mixed layers of sturdy and anti-radiation protection and you wont be affected as long as you stay in the bunker)

Imagine hearing the sirens going off, to know what it is like to see the last moments off the world as we know it. Once the bombs hit, everything changes. I wasn't alive during the Cold War, but hearing the sirens, the image they have attached to them and the energy and emotion that the noise can create, the hopelessness and fear that it creates. Lets hope that we or any generation after us have to hear these sirens for real.

This was a cool idea, but I think it would be cooler if the nuclear siren was just a background, quieter noise just as an accent, and add maybe a bit of reverb or something. That would really make this even better. :)

Man 2:22 can really bring a tear out, unlike conventional warfare where you can resist the enemy the moment you here those sirens go off you just have to accept that it's the end anything you do is more likely to be futile.
Imagine the moment of when you hear those exact sirens, and your family is crying, hugging each other in a circle in your basement, your little sister is crying, your older brother, and parents are crying, and your pets are with you, whimpering in fear. You and your family say their prayers to god as the world starts to end. "Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." You keep saying those exact same words, hugging and crying in a circle, and praying while the world is ending, and meteors shooting from the sky.

This is true, but not everyone will live on the same planet, and eventually we will be able to adapt and evolve to that one planet's environment. This means we wouldn't be humans anymore, we would all look different, talk different because of the hundreds of years of adjusting to the planet.

It's just your average day, people are going to work, kids are outside playing, and you are at work with your best friend in the world, it's been a rough couple of years but yall have pulled through. Then it happens... the radio starts playing a news broadcast, "The end of life as we know it... it's here" you can tell the man over the radio sacred, his voice is shaky. "The um... the doomsday clock begins now... you have 3 hours to make amends, say goodbye and-" the radio cuts out and you hear sirens going off. People run to get home and get to safety. But you and your friend, you look at each other with the same bleakness and lost of all hope. You both stay at the building you work at, you walk over to your desk and open a bottle of Scotch. You pour some cups and you and your friend sit and talk. You guys talk about what yall have been through and what you could have done with your life's. You both just sit in silence for a moment. As you hear the radio cuts back in, "there is now only... 2 minutes left... I thank you all for turning in, goodbye-" it cuts out again. You look at each other once more. "Well we had a good run huh?" Your friend replies "Yeah we did, we sure did" you both stan up shake hands. Then give one another a last hug before the nuke hits.

If I were in this situation-
The second I would hear these sirens, I would panic and run. But while I run, I face the sky, and *_scream_* my thanks and good times this world has brought me. You don’t think of the things you are greatfulfor until it dies off. im going to look forward to this very sound ringing out in my ears one day and on that day i will put this song on and listen to it on my headphones then salute as they impact the ground, it wont be a salute to my country but to the final moments of a race soon to be long forgotten, for we may kill one another, love one another, hate, and more. but we were a race that managed to survive this far for that is what is important, not the politics of a beurocrat, not the ravings of a mad man, not the suffering of a entire civilization, nor the dying of millions, but the value of life as a whole and how far we came as a species that was expected to die the same day it was born.
