I can't stop replaying this video. This video actually got me to play the rom hack. The animation with the best song from the original soundtrack really captures the feeling of the original rom hack and how weird and sad it actually was. Even if you didn't like the end result, I personally think this turned out to be a really good animation.
This animation made me realize how depressing and miserable Sponge’s life is. All he ever wanted was some happiness and validation, but all his siblings kept ignoring him, and every princess he tries to save ends up dying. Sponge is a lonely lonely man, who can do nothing but wallow in his own misery. Indeed, being a sponge f*cking sucks.

I’m relatively new to pixel art, mostly been drawing on paper for 14 years so it’s a bit of a shake up, and I wouldn’t even know where to begin making something of this quality. Definitely one of the best animations I’ve seen all year. Hope more people eventually find this.
