This was an entire team failure. The defense let off 200+ rushing yards in the first half, receivers couldn’t catch anything outside of AP, for some reason Steichen decided that JT wasn’t good enough to be on the field and runs a SPEED OPTION ON A 4th AND 2, AR throws some bad picks, this was just a complete team failure. I will say though, the defense woke up in he second half, even got that final stop to give us a chance, but damn, what is going on?
Shane Steichen played exactly like Frank reich, bad decisions at the worse times. He had some of that last week to. Why is he not utilizing TEs and why does he insist on throwing to RBs on 4th down
As far as the offensive creativity I didn't see it last yr. I don't think he is the guy. In the 3rd quarter they went with JT maybe 3 first in a row. He needed a break and there was MO beautiful pass. Another first down, they hit that but don't use it. I thought to myself that is it. Run JT and break it up with a shot to MO and win this damn game. Fouth quarter and you don't see either one. 3 passes that they can't make and punt or run AR and get him hurt for no reason.

Adonai Mitchell appeared to be on a different wavelength from AR. Not sure WTF is the problem offensively but the Colts are not getting it done.

I’ll give Gus Bradley till the halfway point of the season, but if this defense keeps putting up rushing numbers against them like this we are going to need a new scheme. Also it was giving me flashbacks from the last game of the season last year seeing JT on the sideline during the most crucial point in the game. Like wtf are we doing having our best player off the field. It’s like we were trying to lose the game personnel wise. Offensively I don’t think we will see as many drops like that. Atleast I hope not. That will correct itself. The defense especially without Buck is scary bad so far.
Couple more things. Gardner Minshew won today. I think he was 30-38 with a TD. Losing him hurt more than a lot of Colts fans thought. I’m not saying AR should not be playing. But most Colts thought since AR was the better athlete, he’s automatically going to be a game or two better than Minshew to start. It’s ridiculous if you think that through. A lot of fans were expecting 11-12 wins; hopefully reality has set in. I also remember being laughed at on a couple message boards for criticizing the idea of “running it back” for a borderline playoff team. The gist of it is he’s running this team like Bill Polian did. Pay your own. That only works when you’re drafting HOFer’s like Polian did. Ballard hasn’t drafted one player of that caliber. Even Grigson had one (TY Hilton). I’m starting to think the problems with this organization go beyond the GM position. The thing that scares me is how involved Irsay was in the JT contract negotiations, along with the decision to cut Wentz due to his views on the vax.

I, by no means think that the defense was good in either week 1 or week 2.. however i want to point out that the rushing yards might look THIS horrible because both opponents have had the ball for 40 minutes compared to our 20, both games. This week the defense, which wasnt good, still held the opponent to 16 points, and the offense just couldnt get it together, including Steichan. Its baffling how Taylor just didnt play all 4th quarter while being the only offensive piece that was working. When the entire team is complacent and comfortable, this happens. We have an inconsistent offense run by a too-smart for his own good HC that practices against a lame-duck, super predictable defense thats run by GUS BRADLEY. Of course this team thought they would be competetive, theyve been mashing bad v.s. aweful all preseason.

There is a problem on this team that the public does not know anything about. The average fan can tell that the players are for themselves and not the team. AR is having a hard time executing the plays. Coaches need to dumb it down on both sides of the ball.
So many questions. Why did gus bradley take so long to adjust the play calling to stop the run? Does he enjoy getting pushed around? Why did we onside kick with a minute 40 to go and 2 timeouts and only down by 6 points? Stupid. Coulda even signed gilly for a second stint but we didnt. Secondarys hurting. And now buckner and latu are hurt. No great tight ends.. Biggest question of all: How did the colts lay that big of an egg today? This kinda stuff is why ridiculous sports "analysts" project indy to only win 4 games this year. And we make them sound smart when we play like this.

We havent had a decent coach since Jim Caldwell. Stechein, Reich, and Pagano are all the same to me. They are bad playcallers, have no feel for game situations, they dont demand excellence, dont hold people accountable, dont play to the teams strength, call goofy, embarrassing plays, at the worst times. JT and Pierce were the only highlights this game. The Oline were decent too. BUT... We have no TEs. Granson is ALWAYS ass in the regular season - get Mallory in there. Drops by JT, AD, Pitt and Granson. You expect AR to have ups and downs, but why are SO many of our veterans stinking it up?

Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in you guys. I think we all (colts fans) went into this season with very high expectations of the defense and Anthony. To say you have ZERO CONFIDENCE after 2 games is kind of insane, I understand the first half of the packers game was ugly but we’ve only played 4 halfs of football and the defense hasn’t been that terrible for the majority. You can tell they’ve had a hard time settling in and establishing themselves in run fits but they haven’t let a team run all over them for 4 quarters once.. give the guys a chance. Only allowing 20-30 yards in the 2nd half is definitely worth noting and giving praise. The guys didn’t hang their heads and continue to let Green Bay run wild. They locked in and took care of business while our offense still failed to stay on the field. I still have a fair amount of confidence in this team and our ability to win football games. Will we make the playoffs? Highly unlikely but this is ARs “rookie” season and a lot of rookie QBs don’t lead their teams to the playoffs
Give AR time, once Downs comes back we should have a better passing attack. I do agree that JT needs the ball more through the entire game. Our offensive line believes JT is the best in the business so Shane has to give him his opportunities. The WRs haven’t played great through both games so they can only get better. Keep faith, watch the games, and if you need any reassurance just remember it’s Week 3 as long as we tighten up within the next 2 weeks we will be fine
The problem with these late rd and undrafted so called “gems” of Ballards like Kenny Moore, Zaire, Speed etc is that yea they have played good at times but sometimes they play like the late rd and undrafted picks that they actually are. I have been saying that for years. They need to fire Ballard this team is going nowhere for years now. Tire this garbage all this big talk about Mitchell. He looked so bad past two games now. I hope just his rookie year he gets better, but if this all he worth it was waste of draft getting him over a corner back.

I’ll give Gus Bradley till the halfway point of the season, but if this defense keeps putting up rushing numbers against them like this we are going to need a new scheme.
Also it was giving me flashbacks from the last game of the season last year seeing JT on the sideline during the most crucial point in the game. Like wtf are we doing having our best player off the field. It’s like we were trying to lose the game personnel wise.
Offensively I don’t think we will see as many drops like that. Atleast I hope not. That will correct itself. The defense especially without Buck is scary bad so far.
Couple more things. Gardner Minshew won today. I think he was 30-38 with a TD. Losing him hurt more than a lot of Colts fans thought. I’m not saying AR should not be playing. But most Colts thought since AR was the better athlete, he’s automatically going to be a game or two better than Minshew to start. It’s ridiculous if you think that through. A lot of fans were expecting 11-12 wins; hopefully reality has set in.
I also remember being laughed at on a couple message boards for criticizing the idea of “running it back” for a borderline playoff team. The gist of it is he’s running this team like Bill Polian did. Pay your own. That only works when you’re drafting HOFer’s like Polian did. Ballard hasn’t drafted one player of that caliber. Even Grigson had one (TY Hilton). I’m starting to think the problems with this organization go beyond the GM position. The thing that scares me is how involved Irsay was in the JT contract negotiations, along with the decision to cut Wentz due to his views on the vax.
Minshew was not better than AR and not having him play just hurts his developement.

I, by no means think that the defense was good in either week 1 or week 2.. however i want to point out that the rushing yards might look THIS horrible because both opponents have had the ball for 40 minutes compared to our 20, both games. This week the defense, which wasnt good, still held the opponent to 16 points, and the offense just couldnt get it together, including Steichan. Its baffling how Taylor just didnt play all 4th quarter while being the only offensive piece that was working.
When the entire team is complacent and comfortable, this happens. We have an inconsistent offense run by a too-smart for his own good HC that practices against a lame-duck, super predictable defense thats run by GUS BRADLEY. Of course this team thought they would be competetive, theyve been mashing bad v.s. aweful all preseason.

There is a problem on this team that the public does not know anything about. The average fan can tell that the players are for themselves and not the team. AR is having a hard time executing the plays. Coaches need to dumb it down on both sides of the ball.
So many questions. Why did gus bradley take so long to adjust the play calling to stop the run? Does he enjoy getting pushed around?
Why did we onside kick with a minute 40 to go and 2 timeouts and only down by 6 points? Stupid.
Why on the second to last drive are we running the ball in the red zone on 3rd and long when we need all the time we can get? We only gave richardson 1 shot. He's lucky he picked up the 1st by scrambling on 4th down.
Why did we not sign any safeties in the off-season? Now it's coming back to bite us. Picked up no good veteran corners either L7. Coulda even signed gilly for a second stint but we didnt. Secondarys hurting. And now buckner and latu are hurt. No great tight ends..

At this point, something is going on with JT behind the scenes, they arent telling us. We havent had a decent coach since Jim Caldwell. Stechein, Reich, and Pagano are all the same to me. They are bad playcallers, have no feel for game situations, they dont demand excellence, dont hold people accountable, dont play to the teams strength, call goofy, embarrassing plays, at the worst times. Can we just get a real coach please?
At this point if they hire another first time head coach, they deserve to lose the fanbase immediately.

Just super confused by Gus’s game plan obviously they are going to run the ball and throw short passes and screens to get Willis comfortable so why let them run for 20 minutes before he decides to do the the 5 man front and start stuffing some of those runs. .. if it was me I would have came out in the ol 46 defense it’s still in madden so he could just use that playbook 😂

Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in you guys. I think we all (colts fans) went into this season with very high expectations of the defense and Anthony. To say you have ZERO CONFIDENCE after 2 games is kind of insane, I understand the first half of the packers game was ugly but we’ve only played 4 halfs of football and the defense hasn’t been that terrible for the majority. You can tell they’ve had a hard time settling in and establishing themselves in run fits but they haven’t let a team run all over them for 4 quarters once.. give the guys a chance. Only allowing 20-30 yards in the 2nd half is definitely worth noting and giving praise. The guys didn’t hang their heads and continue to let Green Bay run wild. They locked in and took care of business while our offense still failed to stay on the field. I still have a fair amount of confidence in this team and our ability to win football games. Will we make the playoffs? Highly unlikely but this is ARs “rookie” season and a lot of rookie QBs don’t lead their teams to the playoffs
Give AR time, once Downs comes back we should have a better passing attack. I do agree that JT needs the ball more through the entire game. Our offensive line believes JT is the best in the business so Shane has to give him his opportunities. The WRs haven’t played great through both games so they can only get better. Keep faith, watch the games, and if you need any reassurance just remember it’s Week 3 as long as we tighten up within the next 2 weeks we will be fine

The problem with these late rd and undrafted so called “gems” of Ballards like Kenny Moore, Zaire, Speed etc is that yea they have played good at times but sometimes they play like the late rd and undrafted picks that they actually are. Ballard try’s to outsmart everyone and it’s not working and Shane really disappointed me today. U guys pretty much hit on it all but I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for ONE more week, if we lose to the Bears this season is over and Gus needs to go and probably Ballard to! I’m fkn sick of this crap we wait for seven months and this is the product he puts out onto the field? Im sick of Stiechen. He thinks he’s Andy Reid. Andy gets to run a bunch of exotic stuff and can be uncoventional, because the team does the easy, simple stuff well. They execute, so they get to be creative. The Colts dont do routine things well. Like catch the ball, hold a block, hit open receivers. Get back to fundamentals please.
