That gun he's using has the slide purposely locked when fired.
Eh, mechanically the welrod in the game wasn't exactly all that realistic. It was basically a silenced golden gun. One shot anywhere would kill an enemy which needless to say wasn't realistic given its dinky little bullets. There were some other fairly unrealistic elements as well like not being able to reload the M1 Garand unless it was completely empty and it especially got unrealistic when it came to multiplayer where a lot of the combat boiled down to jumping left and right to avoid rifle fire and close quarters fights often consisted of hopping in circles around other players trying to stab each others' feet. Plus there was the jail break game mode in the expansion which to put it simply didn't exactly play as the devs intended.

Amazing how far we've come visually. Even a mobile game today could be better looking than this. What's interesting is the fact that when I played this game back then, it didn't feel this "dated". I did remember seeing characters/objects being blocky or not even remotely close to real life but that was because in the back of my mind, this was _the_ level that we're at and accepted it. 11:05 Is my impression, or did he jump into the grenade to protect his friends from the explosion?
Yep all NPC did that in Frontline an Rising Sun
@@NoirChat138 i played rising sun but i didn't remember it
@@joaoarthurbrito1222 USMC do that from time to time
And Anzacs as well on the River Kwai mission
Amazing how far we've come visually. Even a mobile game today could be better looking than this. What's interesting is the fact that when I played this game back then, it didn't feel this "dated". I did remember seeing characters/objects being blocky or not even remotely close to real life but that was because in the back of my mind, this was _the_ level that we're at and accepted it. When games start to push the visual fidelity further, it starts to create a new benchmark for future games and subsequently other game devs would try to follow suit.
This is Medal of Honor USA v1.0 right?
The conversation at 1:25 has missing audio files in Warchest. So I made a patch for this, among other graphic tweaks.
do you have patch that make the nazi salute back ?
@@charmingdog2987 yes, it's called unofficial patch 1.0, available on moddb and nexusmods. I can't spam any external link here sorry.
so did nobody take notice to the kriegsmarine officer waltzing around their uboat pens with an m1903 springfield on his back? gotta learn to start asking the tough questions, hans...
eh~ just said trophy from dead allies XD
@@SgtShella The Germans used captured gear all the time so it's not that impossible or anything
@@welkingunther5417 No they did not. Very rare they would. The Germans loved their weapons and would use enemy weapons unless no other choice out in the field. You would not find a German solider holding a springfield at a U-boat base.
@@Steven-tl8fs I seem to very much recall them VERY much liking the Soviet PPSH, so much so to actually issue it and even try and convert it to 9mm, though they certainly captured plenty of ammunition for it already
@@Steven-tl8fs Not to mention also Czech weapons, French, etc. Though most of the use of foreign arms did eventually mostly culminate in the Volkssturm, the regular army and everything did use captured weaponry, especially as the war dragged on and they needed what they could fired.
It makes me so happy when American ww2-themed fps games have good German voiceacting
