*I love how Kai and Sehun bring their own interpretations* into the song. The story of Baby Don't Cry is based off The Little Mermaid, where the little mermaid has to make a choice between killing her prince with a knife in order to remain a human forever, or throwing herself to the sea to become sea foam and pass away without ever going to heaven. In this song, the prince (EXO) urges her to sharpen her blade to kill him, saying "the sharper the better" and telling her not to cry, because she was never meant to turn to foam, and instead he will protect her and sacrifice himself for her life and happiness. In the solo dance, you can see that Kai (as the prince) is overcome with emotion, and how distraught he is shows in each movement he makes. He moves with anger and anguish, unwilling to accept that this has to be their fate, that he will never see her (the mermaid) again. Sehun remains more stoic and tries to stay strong and withhold the emotion from his face; he is more willing to accept his fate, but he doesn't want to upset his love. His movements are of someone who is a shell, someone who has accepted loss and is grieving quietly over it, but you can still see the anguish through his facade, like he's a dam holding back his emotions. Both are extremely skilled dancers and I love the complex depth they each brought to this song
