Great explanation, I'm doing the same project for my company, however I'm facing a problem, my translator service runs normally but it seems that it doesn't put the converted file in the blob container, next, the http request keeps giving me statusCode as 200, but in the body i can see that the status is failed , with invalidDocument as code and the message: "Document failed during checking validity. This may be caused by corruption or unsupported type/extension. New offset cannot be less than 0. Value was -14 (Parameter 'offset')". Finally the flow blocks itself at the "Get BLOB content using path" since it cant find the document in the container. What do you think I should do to solve this? Got an interesting one on this though, I want to solutionise this, and I have tried to create an Environment Variable called LanguageToTranslate to - that is set to French, for this example. When I pass the EV in, to the "Start Document translation" step in the Target language the action fails. It says target language is not recognized. Ultimately, this could be in a canvas app, where the doc is uploaded, and the user sets the Language, but I'm wondering if the Target language field on the Start document translation action can take dynamic values?

A very nice and succinct video with all the steps - worked a treat! I had to trigger a trial 'Premium' licence to get it working in the right places (when creating the Blobs). Is there a way to avoid that?
That’s awesome 😎 glad it worked out for you. I believe blob is a requirement for the service. But you can clear it out once the file has been converted.

So for one English file uploaded into SharePoint, what if we wanted to then convert that to French and German? What is the best approach to this? Do you edit the flow and have some parallel actions? Or create a separate flow for each language, and it will do both?Thank you in advance. Ash
In this flow can we add conditions as while translating the document some of the text lines should remain in the original language and other condition as some of the text lines should appear in both original and translated languages?

Fantastic demo Damien! I tried it out and worked like a charm ..... the only trouble is that I now want to try and adapt it to work with a storage account that is in a vnet. This has proven surprisingly difficult without adding a lot of infrastructure, or creating a security hole. Would you have any suggestions? I am currently exploring the vnet gateway that is in preview as one possibility, but it doesn't seem like it is really designed for power automate.

@pasfins no - as this service runs in Azure. Your requirements for Power Platform are premium licensing to run the http action or a custom connector. Glad you’ve got it working now though 👍

I was testing the flow and I'm getting this error in the "Start document translation" action: { "statusCode": 500, "message": "Internal server error", "activityId": "9a85db67-a55d-417a-a14f-bc4ba9c79d18" } It loads the file in the "incoming" container and then it retries the operation one time before failing. I'm using S1 and I think all the permissions are correct. Did you face this issue? Thanks in advance!
@@obu1985 I can’t recall now. I do think it’s possible to check error logs from the azure service or maybe it was from the rest api. Are both the service and blob in same region?

I educate adult learners (some from different countries) so this could be useful. Could you possibly estimate ‘pay as you go’ cost for translating the file chosen for this demo? (Just curious, I won’t ‘hold anyone to account’ for this free-advice request.) Also, I noticed you set a variable without initializing it first? If this observation is correct, would you care to comment on the purpose of ‘initialize a variable’? Thank you.
@@geralddahl9159 the S1 Payg service is £12 per million chars, and the api returns the number of chars, in this case 32,000. So it’s about 30-40p a conversion. azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/pricing/details/cognitive-services/translator/
So there are a few must haves, having gone through this. Two things to check, you must have S1, free tier doesn’t do document translation. You must also create a managed identity and enable access to the storage.

Hi, thanks for this video, I have a question, It's possible do this tutorial without blops ?
I believe the translate service needs blob. But it translates the full document and keeps the layout. You could translate text.

Unfortunately it didnt work for me. The flow is not running after i click on test. Could you please help me
Is there any request limit for translator service for one hour or 2 hours
Followed the steps. Worked for about 10 documents and now all the documents are corrupted. Any ideas ? Thanks a lot!
Sounds like an issue with the service, do let me know if you find the problem to help others but I don't know the reason why.

Hi again @@DamoBird365! The fix in my case was to recreate the Azure resources in the West US 2 region. I was using East US 2 initially.

Actually I tried the same but it is stuck on the loop for more than 15 minutes and fails
