Your family must be so heartburstingly proud of you. I am very proud of your progress from being a cute little boy with a big plan to the young talented man you are now. Happy New Year, keep safe. xxx
..watching the steam hammer and listening to some Great music. Watching this reminded me of another youth some years back in England. Fantastic seeing you passing the craft along Ethan...!
Love to see this Ethan. Passing on the craft and the enthusiasm for it. Music is awesome too. I have to say though, I was disturbed that I didn't see any eye protection anywhere in this video. You're a mentor and role model, not just to Jasper.
I appreciate the comment, thank you for the kind words. I am wearing a face shield at around timestamp 18:20 while grinding the sledge:) i’ll have to do a video sometime soon talking about the whole safety glasses issue.
Really, I need to make a case for safety? You are acting as his mentor/teacher. You should be setting an example on safety. I've worked as a smith in industry for close to thirty years. I've had plenty of scale and such bounce off my glasses working at the hammer or anvil. You only have two eyes. How many chances do they get before you lose site in one? I've taught many power hammer forging classes over the years. Amazing to me that you even posed this question.
Nah, none of this current generation wears them. Sort of like the boomers think they didn't need hearing protection. Saw how that turned out. Work around steel long enough, they'll figure it out the hard way.
The hammer is running fantastically, great to see it inside being worked.. thank you for the great video!!
Good job men. Look forward to taking another class some time at the new shop. Take care
Man u should post more videos like this, awesome content as aways mate! This kid is going places.
I bet he learned alot during his visit. What a champ.
Your hammers made me jeleaous!
Very nice job. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Forge on. God bless.
Glad to see you teaching this art form to younger generation!

We wore eye protection quite often but it can be a nuance more than it can help you.
I knew you were a serious steam aficionado when i saw you tied the lever on the power hammer with sisal twine haha.
Nice seeing the young generation teaching the even younger generation, we'll be staying out of the stone age for a while yet. ;)
That kid is going somewhere!
Not that I'm in favour of child labor. But this was enjoyable to watch..
Good luck in your future endeavors little man.
I envy that kid and his ability to take this class. Looks like a lot of fun
Awesome video. Put whip checks on your air lines. 2" airlines are terrifying when they blow out.
I know I’ve had one blow before. I agree it’s scary.
What is a whip check, where can I find more info on them?
Fantastic video, but please turn down the volume of the music.
👍👍
How do I buy a hammer from Jasper?
Ok, so where are the safety glasses? At least for the young one.
Would you care to make a case as to why?

Y’all need some safety glasses!

@@EthanHarty ask Alec Steele why PPE is a good idea. He has a few videos on the subject.

hey, just wanted to say that the lack of safety glasses doesn't offend me, in fact I also don't use them most of the time when forging
Thank you for being not offended:)
